Lily Potter blamed karma. She would always blame karma. She had done something really wrong in her life to have ended up in this situation. Not the act that led to her pregnancy, no, that was more than enjoyable, she meant falling in love with James Potter. Maybe she could have analysed the situation better. No, she believed that she already did that back when she hated James in school; but then like a fool, she went ahead and fell in love with him. What a dumb decision. She should have stayed away from James, and his dumb, dumb, friends. They were overbearing, loud, annoying, and just little shits, that made Lily want to whack them with their favourite brooms.
Still, she had fallen in love with James Potter back in school, and she kept falling in love with James Potter more and more every day. The only consequence was that she had to put up with marauders, who annoyed the shit out of her on a good day. Unfortunately, this particular day was not at all good, yet here she was, trying to put up with the biggest drama-queen she had ever met.
Lily Potter was in immense amount of pain, due to the fact that she had gone into labour. It would not have been as bad as it was at that moment, if her husband was home. But no, she was stuck with one and only Sirius Black. And he was annoying her more than usual. Lily Potter blamed karma. There was a puddle of her bodily fluids below her indicating her water had just broke, and that they needed to hurry and get to the hospital. The healers had advised on no using magical transportation, so the only way to get there was to drive Sirius was not making it easy. She loved him really, he was annoying and loud, she knew, but he had grown on her throughout the years. She knew her husband loved the man too, and believed that she would not see the James Potter she loved so much without a glimpse of Sirius Black right around the corner. But like the drama-queen and hyperactive bitch he was, Sirius was hyperventilating.
'Lily, where's the bag!' he screeched from across the house, and Lily would have thrown her shoes at his head to knock him out, if she could bend down. 'Prongs told me he kept it under the bed. It's not here!' she sighed. That was all she could do really. 'Lily!' he said, his voice clearer, as he appeared at the door of the living room. Lily pointed to the bag that sat on the sofa with a calm look, regardless of the pain she felt, because one of them had to be mature, and Sirius was not that person. 'Oh,' he said, calming down, and walking towards the bag. He picked it up, along with the keys that laid on the side table, and turned to her with a smile. 'Are you ready to push the baby out?' he asked, and Lily rolled her eyes. Walking towards him, she snatched the keys from him and made her way towards the door.
'I'm driving,' she declared, and Sirius hurried behind her.
'No! You're about to give birth, you need your energy. Let me –' turning back, she glared at him, and he shut up.
'I need to be alive to give birth,' she smiled at him coldly, and Sirius shuddered, and hung the bag on his shoulder. Lily walked towards the door and opened it, ready to step out, when she saw a very significant absence of Sirius Black behind her. 'Sirius, what are you –'
'Lily! Why is this bag so lightweight?! Did you use a charm on it?' he shouted from the living room. Lily stood at the entrance of the house, knowing well this would take time. Of course, her pushing a baby out of her body was not as important as Sirius' panic attacks. 'DID YOU PACK YOUR TOOTH BRUSH?' he shouted, 'WAIT, WE HAVE A BLUE AND A RED ONE, WHICH ONE IS YOURS?'
'Sirius, it does not –'
'AND WHAT ABOUT ME, AND REMUS, LIL? AND WHAT ABOUT PETER AND THE BABY? WHERE IS THE BABY'S TOOTHBRUSH!? OH WAIT, THE BABY WON'T HAVE TEETH!' there was a pause and a little more shuffling, and his voice was getting annoying by the second. 'I SEE YOUR CLOATHS, AND JAMES HAS A SHIRT, THERE IS A TOWEL, A BLANKET, WAIT, THERE ARE THREE, WHAT ABOUT IF I GET COLD?'
'Sirius, don't you dare unpack the entire bag, or you will not live to see your godson's face!' There was hurried shuffling and Sirius appeared through the door way.
'But Lily, what if, there is a storm, you need an umbrella!'
'You're a wizard, or what?' she snapped not annoyed anymore, just humoured. The pain was getting worse by the second, and she would have literally ripped his head off, if it wasn't for the fact that Sirius Black was a complete idiot.
'What about the food, did you –' his talk of course did not stop there, and Lily stepped out of the house leaving the man behind. It was a bit chilly outside, as she turned on the car they had rented just for this occasion, as she heard Sirius lock the house behind her. She got into the driver's seat and saw Sirius staring at the house, deep in thoughts.
'Get a fucking move on, you nerd. I will be pushing the baby out here if we don't!'
Sirius hurried towards the car, as he got into the passenger seat and fidgeted. Lily ignored it for a while as she started driving at the top speed, hoping that the wind coming through the window would ease down the pains. It didn't. Sirius touched the little figurine of a witch riding a broom, hanging off the mirror, and then the window, and then the figurine. After a few minutes it started becoming annoying, and Lily could not keep calm anymore. 'CALM DOWN SIRIUS BLACK, OR I WILL HEX YOU TO NEXT MILLENIA!' she shouted, and Sirius looked at her a little hyper now.
'OH COME ON LILS, YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND, I'M NOT READY TO BE A FATHER!' Sirius screamed, matching her pitch, and she turned back to the road, rolling her eyes. She saw the hospital come into view on her right, and turned to Sirius after a few seconds, as she started pulling in towards the hospital parking lot.
'Sirius, it isn't your baby, you know', looking back at the parking, she saw James and Remus hurrying towards them. She parked the car efficiently, and opened the door. James was on her side within a second, as he helped her out of the car, and Remus took the bag from Sirius, while also locking the car.
'Please, Lily, this is everyone's baby,' was the last thing Lily Potter remembered that day, that did not include extreme amount of screaming, excruciating pain that made her feel like hell would be easier, and extreme amounts of bodily fluids that made her heart set on the fact that they were not having another baby, no matter how little and cute and adorable they are.
