On this day February 14, 1992 Riley Henrikson answered the door and there stood a man in robes with a letter in hand introducing himself as professor Severus Snape from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and she is wondering if this is a dream.
"No, no it is not, but I understand the question of why." Said the professor. 'Oh I said that out loud oops' she thought as she stared at the man.
"Well come on in I am sure you can explain what exactly you are here for and why you have come to our doorstep," Neil said not entirely sure if this man is telling the truth or not though both him and his wife know of their daughter's magic.
As Professor Snape started to explain why he was here and exactly what his profession was Riley had so many questions running through her head. When he finally got to the point in his speech, that was most likely rehearsed, where he asked if they had any questions Riley couldn't help but respond.
"Why is it named Hogwarts?" Riley asked in a voice she did not realize sounded like an angel.
"I am not entirely sure, maybe as a joke the founders never left a reason why," responded Snape, surprised by the first question wasn't if this was actually real.
"How is it possible that I have magic but my parents don's?"
"Well it is believed by many who come from magical families that it was stolen, but the true reason is unknown."
"Are you sure you don't know" when he nodded her next statement shocked him.
"Well maybe it is a recessive trait or something that isn't inherently dominant or recessive but just a trait that can be passed down when certain requirements are met. Is there a way to do a DNA test in the Wizarding World?"
"Ummm, sorry yes it is a test done at Gringotts Bank by the goblins and is called an inheritance test."
"Okay, when can I go to this Bank and see this bank?"
"Well the bank is located in Diagon Alley in London?"
"Yes, well can we go today?"
"That is a question for your parents Ms. Henrikson," Riley immediately turns to her parents making her strikingly blue eyes, that look nothing like her parents own brown eyes, slightly bigger and brings her lips to a pout. Performing a puppy dog pout that would make even the ever stoic Snape cave.
Her parents look at each other and give a knowing smile to each other. Asking questions about her education that only adults would care about even if the child in reference already has 2 PHDs. They of course agree without any real hesitation.
"I mean what better way to spend one's 10th birthday, going to London on a magical shopping trip," as Elizabeth stated this Professor Snape's facial expression went from emotionless to shocked.
"What?!"
