I'm so glad everything with Lianzhong and Shifu is over...

Po entered out of his place by the side of the undergrowth and stood beside his master, kneeling beside him and checking him over for any injuries on him.

"Master, are you all right?"

"Yes, I'm fine," Shifu brushed away his student's hand but glanced gratefully at him. "Don't worry."

"You think he'll really be gone?" Po asked, putting his head to one side but keeping his hand on his master's shoulder. Shifu glanced down at the ground and let out a sigh, not responding. "Master?" Po asked again, cautiously and gently asking him once more in respectability.

"If he's smart, he won't." Shifu shook his head in annoyance, "But, perhaps he will even if. The palace will be prepared, so don't be alarmed." In his mind, Shifu added to himself, I hope.
Po sighed, "Yes, Master." Po remembered that he had seen Mian in the bushes, (at least, he thought.) Sure enough, Po heard a rustling in the bushes and saw Mian step out and dip his head in awkward tension. Shifu turned around and caught Mian's gaze, in which he lifted himself up and went to greet him.

"T-thank you.." Mian dipped his head even lower. "C-can I ask for your help?"
Shifu nodded, with a gentle light in his gaze. "Of course. What do you need?"

Mian stepped closer to Shifu and stood closer than an arm's length away from the master.

"Can you help me get b-back to my homeland?"

Shifu paused for a moment. Ah, of course he must return to his family, if there is no one else to go to.

Shifu suddenly felt another wave of remorse for the student and his master.

"Of course I can help you," Shifu nodded, placing a gentle hand on Mian's shoulder as Po laid his own hand on his master's. "And I will."

It was late evening in the Jade Palace. Shifu and Po had returned back to the palace and informed Zeng and Xiping of the situation.

Shifu was immensely relieved of Xiping's help to transport the young student to his home, and his family. It was hard for him at first to leave Shifu and Po in the possible fear of the unknown, but with Shifu's promise that Xiping and two other guards were ones to trust, it made Mian much more complacent and calmer.

Now, after a day of getting all of that together, Shifu had finally got the chance to talk to his student face-to-face ever since they arrived back at the palace. He suddenly felt guilty to his student for not giving his full weekend with them together as they should have done, but it was a doubtful situation and he hoped his student understood.

In a way, they work together.

Po and Shifu leaned together on the outside balcony of the Jade Palace, glancing outside into the mist-covered mountains and the peaceful village below. Po shivered, with the cold this time, and not with the painful memories, even though it was still in his mind.

Shifu glanced over at his student and sighed. "Forgive me for these couple of days, my student," Shifu admitted, "I know it's been hard, and I haven't gotten the chance to go over hardly anything with you."
Po shook his head, "Master, it's okay-"

"Besides the point," Shifu dipped his head and flicked his ear. "I am proud of you. I don't think that situation would have been handled the same way if it weren't for you."

Po smiled, and dipped his head, bowing. He was grateful for his master's words, and he was truly proud of the way Shifu handled the whole situation.

He really is the best master in all the world.

"Thank you, Master." Po dipped his head. "But you settled it, and really, you were great."

Shifu flicked his ear again and smiled. "Well, we have to settle it somehow."
Po and Shifu just slightly laughed as the two of them stared out into the sky from the palace's balcony. Po thought that despite Mian and Lianzhong's incident, Shifu and Po had worked sort-of well together, even if it was mostly Shifu that had done most of the talking, and the fighting.

After a period of silence, Shifu thought on his words and his thoughts for a moment.

"Come with me," Shifu instructed, "I want to hear all about this problem you've been having with your form."

Shifu and Po's gazes met, and Po smiled and humbly nodded.

"Yes, Master." Po wistfully shot a glance up at the mountains as he walked beside his master to another secluded place in the palace. Po thought about Mian, and how messed-up his relationship with his master was in relation to Po and Shifu's. It truly was deeper than any other master he had ever had, and really, it was perfect. He did indeed have the best master in all of China…

And that was a fact.

Aww...that was such a cute ending...

I hope you all enjoyed this fanfic, and found this quite cute (the relationship between Po and Shifu), because we all know that we need more fanfics like that!
