(They always described to me that Vale's fall had scarred their minds, but it's different seeing it in person) Silver's golden eyes took in the detail of the entire ruin, the once majestic academy had been decimated, multiple bodies of students and soldiers were lying on the ground, the lack of movement in their chests and the blood draining away were clear indications that it had perished.
A slashing split an Ursa that got in his way, the sounds of fighting did not stop, although he caught how some Atlas airships were moving, apparently the situation in the city is starting to get under control. The smoke in the sky in front of him showed him that he was getting closer to his destination. He saw how a fireball descended from the tower to the ground, it hit a white glyph, which was easily destroyed, but granted a few moments to allow the people below the glyph to move.
"I see, I'm not late" Silver's eyes scanned everyone, he saw how Pyrrha could barely stand.
"Silver!" shouted Yang and Weiss.
"Is he Silver?" Ruby couldn't help but ask, silver eyes collided with gold "Thank you, for helping Weiss and Blake" the youngest of all the girls bowed in gratitude.
That drew a slight smile on the man's face "No problem, I would do it without hesitation" the certainty in the answer shook Ruby, a smile like the boy's was drawn on her.
"Ugh" Pyrrha's groan of pain alerted everyone, she tried to get up, but fell again, her knee placed on the ground serving as a support.
"Easy, don't strain yourself" Blake helped her friend up "We have to take her to the doctors, her aura is low, the wound on her ankle is severe and I don't want to imagine if she has internal damage" Blake reported as she analyzed the amazon's condition, the black-haired girl placed one of Pyrrha's arms around her neck and her own arm around the girl's waist to support her.
"I'm sorry I couldn't do anything" Pyrrha apologized, sorrow and pain permeating her tone "I couldn't do anything" a few tears formed in the emerald eyes.
"You shouldn't apologize P-Money, this situation is bullshit that none of us could have foreseen" Yang's hand rested on the shoulders of the invincible girl.
"If Ozpin couldn't prevent this, there should be no reason for you guys to feel guilt" everyone's attention was focused on Silver "You guys have done your best, this responsibility shouldn't belong to young people like you, and I'm sorry you have to go through this" each of the girls clenched their fists tightly.
The moment didn't last long and no one could answer anything else as they had to move to avoid being crushed by a Wyvern Grimm, Silver stayed behind the dragon while the girls stayed in front.
"It's bigger than I thought" Silver couldn't help but hiss at the size of the monster.
"Drop the size, it looks like it's extremely angry" Yang grimaced at the beast's growl.
From one moment to the next the 5 girls felt the perception of reality move, each one felt shaken as they now saw themselves behind the Grimm and saw Silver where they were before he looked agitated, more so as he had to split a sphere of fire that was going to hit them if they didn't change their position.
"What the hell?" Yang couldn't exclaim everyone's thought.
"It must be her semblance" Weiss couldn't help but analyze what happened, ice blue eyes moved in the direction where the attack came from, her eyes widened to see Cinder descending towards them... Was she flying, honestly she found herself already tired to see the logic.
"I see another annoying insect has arrived" Cinder spoke with derision at the sight of the new boy.
"What can I say, I'm late for my invitation, sorry I'm late" Silver replied graciously.
"And she seems to have the same lousy sense of humor as the blonde" Yang couldn't help but feel offended at what Cinder said, who also raised an eyebrow in amusement at how they all pointed their guns at her, the maiden's hands caressed the head of the dragon to her right "Leave the Nikos girl here and I'll spare your lives."
Ice stakes were directed at Cinder who dodged them with mastery.
"Don't even think about it" Weiss growled at the woman's audacity, her friends shouted the same response.
Cinder shook her head at that "I guess I'll just have to dust them" a cruel smile formed on the woman's face, her eyes lit up with a yellow fire, the air in the room tightened; the dragon Grimm stood upright, ready to take flight.
At that moment a sword was thrust into the dragon's neck to immediately see how Silver appeared in the same position who released a kick loaded with aura that shook the Grimm who grunted at the blow, without wasting time the beast spread its wings to rise into the air and take flight.
"Interesting" Cinder whispered upon seeing that.
"Blake take Pyrrha and go to the bay, they are all there" the attention of the aforementioned was directed to their leader who fired a few rounds of dust at Cinder who moved to dodge them "Don't protest" that cut short the faunus' attempt to answer "You are the most injured, but also the one with a semblance that helps the escape" everyone saw logically that.
"Fine, but they better go too" Pyrrha adjusted herself on her friend's back, both ready to set off, only to see Cinder approaching with a crystal sword, reality shifted again for both girls as they switched positions with the one before Silver
"Don't ask... Run!" Blake complied with that at the shout of Silver who used her sword to defend herself from Cinder. Silver didn't miss the opportunity and lowered her sword pulling her enemy's sword, seeing her lose her balance, she turned 360 degrees and kicked Cinder's head, who was dragged a few meters.
"How do you do that?" Ruby couldn't help but ask as she saw that technique again.
"It's my semblance, it allows me to exchange places with other people, no matter how many... although the larger the number of people the more aura I spend, likewise I can also exchange places with my swords by imbuing them with aura" Silver hastily explained.
Ruby couldn't help but be amazed at it...so much potential, her mind began to formulate strategies. "Alright, that gives me some ideas, we can take down Cinder" the dragon's roar attracted attention.
"No, you guys take down the Wyvern, leave Cinder to me" Silver requested, seeing how the 3 girls were going to retort she decided to give more information "They have teamwork and ranged attack power, that's better for the dragon, it's an easier target than a Maiden like Cinder."
"Maiden?" Weiss couldn't help but ask.
"When we get out of this I'll tell you everything I know, I promise" the emotions in Silver's eyes made them trust, seeing the understanding in the girls face Silver gave a sigh and lunged towards Cinder who had readjusted from the previous kick.
Cinder narrowed her eyes as she saw the boy approaching, adjusting her body she ducked to avoid the kick, she took advantage of that to drag her foot and impact on Silver's foot causing him to lose his balance, the maiden's knee impacted on Silver's back who was immediately pushed by a spinning kick.
A fireball almost hit the black-haired man who threw one of his swords to transport himself to it and avoid the blow.
"Tsk" Silver grunted at the burning in the parts where he was hit, his hand gripped the gun he had used as a beacon to transport himself.
Both pairs of golden eyes met again, 2 crystal weapons formed in Cinder's hands.
Silver teleported forward, disappearing from view and appearing in front of the fall Maiden who was swinging her blades downward. Silver frowned; raising one of his blades upward to block the incoming sword. The jet jumped a few feet away, Cinder rose into the air thanks to his powers and began to move around his opponent, using the air to his advantage to attack from above, thrusting his arms down to slash with the blades. A cold aura radiated from the twin crystal blades, the attack was matched by the man's weapons who raised them and met the rival weapons, a shockwave erupted on the ground at the impact, the pressure was such that the ground beneath Silver cracked. The jet's eyes narrowed, he retracted his body backwards which allowed him to generate enough separation to kick Cinder in the stomach, who clenched his teeth and fire covered his body to achieve separation.
Cinder's abdomen area was sure to have a bruise, while Silver's leg had been burned a bit from being too close
Both opponents took a breath, neither of them paid attention to the multiple shots or the dragon's roar; they began another confrontation.
CLINK
CLINK
CLINK
The blades hit the ground, burying themselves in the earth. Cinder moved at great speed in front of his enemy as he swung one of his swords at the perfect angle to impact the chest. The sword struck with great force the edge of both Silver's weapons who lost his grip and both weapons were thrown through the air where they impaled themselves on the ground ten meters away. An aura of bloodlust erupted from the maiden's body as she saw her chance, cutting him squarely in the abdomen. The shudder penetrated deep into the jet's body which forced him to retreat, blood dripped on the ground, the sword had not only cut the suit with ease, but also the flesh, blood covered its edge. Silver's eyes widened at the speed.
(How is she so fast if she has no experience with her powers yet?) were Silver's thoughts upon seeing her opponent's technique.
Cinder began to reveal a sinister smile as an evil aura began to release from his sword, slowly becoming more accustomed to its power.

Ruby's heart beat rapidly in her chest, but her eyes remained fixed on the dragon with a calm focus, her ears picking up the struggle Silver was having. This caused her to grab Crescent Rose tighter, her powerful legs propelling her through the rubble of the tower and Beacon Academy. Down below, Weiss and Yang shot at the Grimm that was generating from the dragon slime.
Her footsteps stopped abruptly, and Ruby landed on the edge of some 20 meter high rubble, dropping to one knee as Crescent Rose bent backwards in her sniper form. She dragged it back against her shoulder, one eye lined up against it as she took aim at the dragon. It was so big it couldn't be missed, but random shots would do no good. They already had a hundred or more shedding their skin for their companions.
"Everything has a weak spot," he whispered, taking a bit of wisdom from his Uncle Qrow. "It's just a case of find it and fill it with bullets!"
The dragon didn't seem to feature any glowing orbs like the video game monsters, but almost everyone had a weak spot they shared, and Ruby aimed for its eyes, trying to judge its reaction speed. Despite its size and wingspan, the thing was surprisingly agile and didn't tend to go in the same direction for very long. It was one in a thousand shots... Which meant it had better start firing everything it had!
Crescent Rose stepped back as she pulled the trigger, the familiar recoil at the shoulder signaling the start of the burst. The first shot ricocheted off her bone armor, but she adjusted quickly, instinctively, and fired another. It was high and too far to the left. Her finger squeezed the trigger again, she still had bullets in the cartridge. The shot was good, but he twisted at the last second, his head turning to the side as he roared at someone shooting from a distance. His bullet bounced off the side of his head, the Grimm tried to turn his attention to the direction of the shot, but the ice stakes in his wings caught his attention more, the dragon readjusted his position, but couldn't avoid the jaw hit by the white glyph-driven blonde who somersaulted in the air to readjust back to the ground.
Ruby sighed as she watched her sister and partner coordinate their attacks and not get hurt. Again she pulled the trigger. The shot missed. Again. It bounced off her muzzle. Again! This time, it hit what could have been his eyebrow. The shot pinged outward instead of inward, but it certainly got his attention.
His head turned toward her.
Well, it was good. It just gave it a better chance. Ruby fired again and again, each time trying to catch one of the huge red eyes as the monster rushed towards her. Anger shot through her with each miss, only making it harder to concentrate and aim for the next target.
"Ruby!" Yang shouted from below. "Move!"
But she was very close. It was getting easier and easier to aim as she got closer. Just a little more and she would make the right shot. She was sure of it!
"RUBY!"
Just a little more...
There!
Ruby's finger squeezed the trigger and Crescent Rose fired with force. The projectile flew through the air, struck the top of her forehead and ricocheted into her eye. The eye burst immediately as the creature roared in pain and veered to the side. Ruby smiled happily, and when the dragon stopped spewing slime for new Grimm's, so did her companions.
But those cheers died when his tail turned around.
It hit the pillars below her with a mighty crash, knocking several aside and knocking the platform she was standing on off balance. The ground beneath her cracked, and Ruby shrieked as she stared as the pillar she was on shattered. The fall was long and with debris also falling there was a good chance she would be buried alive.
He turned and ran.
The ground was giving way beneath her, each piece falling as she pushed it down. It was only her appearance that allowed her to stay ahead, and even then, it was difficult. Her eyes widened as the dragon flung itself across her path, destroying the route ahead of her as well.
Gravity caught up with her and the stone gave way. With a startled yelp, Ruby began her fall.
Someone might have shouted her name, she wasn't sure. All she could hear was the falling rock, the rush of wind, and her own panicked cry. Crescent Rose fell through the air beside her, and she reached out to grab it, even if she wasn't sure why.
A white glyph appeared in front of her. The silver object held the blade of her weapon.
"Hold her tight!" a voice called.
There was no time to ask why. The glyph cracked and the scythe nearly ripped from her hands. She hung grimly, body jerking to the left as she swung from her friend's semblance like a pendulum. Another glyph appeared and she leapt towards it to use it as a platform.
"Don't worry " Weiss's relief was clear "I've got you now."
Jubilation shot through Ruby, but a roar caught her attention. The dragon had circled and was coming in for another attack. Ruby gasped, but quickly closed her eyes as an idea occurred to her.
A reckless one.
"Don't put me down!" Ruby yelled at the girl. "Pull me up."
"Excuse me!?"
"throw me - throw me!"
Weiss froze For a moment, Ruby thought nothing would happen, but finally nodded. With almost inhuman strength, the girl jerked her arm back, the glyph beneath Ruby grew in size. The wind whistled past her head and the circle generated a pressure that launched her upward, her body hurtling in the direction of the creature.
The silver eyes narrowed as the wind rushed against her from the speed of the thrust, but she could still clearly see the black blob against the starry sky. She dragged Crescent Rose and fired a shot to change her trajectory a bit, aiming for the monster. If she could land on it, she could gouge its eyes out at point blank range, or maybe split one of its wings. It was a possibility. There was a chance, however small.
The dragon saw her.
turned its head in her direction and roared, pointing directly at her. Its massive jaw opened, revealing rows and rows of teeth. There was no way she could avoid it, and fear shot through her. It was quickly replaced by anger.
Was this the end? If so, then she would go to fight, just like Summer. Her mouth opened as she roared back, and she felt something rush through her, her countenance reacting to her emotions and the speed increased.
Her silver eyes shone brightly.
The Wyvern panicked. It was impossible and unheard of, but also the only thing he could think of. One moment, he was prepared to kill her effortlessly, and the next, he stepped to the side in a maneuver that could only be called desperate. His head passed to the right of her evading the cut, the body dodged it as well, and Ruby cursed as she realized she had missed her best chance. Now in freefall, and with the dragon on her right, she fell back onto the Beacon grounds.
She had failed.
"Ruby. Over here!"
Ruby looked down, wide-eyed as she noticed Yang running across what must have been the roof of Beacon's west wing. Her sister screamed furiously and with momentum from her bracelets propelled herself into the air.
"Use me as a platform!"
There was no time to question. As her sister's body approached, Ruby used her semblance to propel herself to her sister, her feet collided with Yang's shoulders and uses them as momentum to be thrown in the direction of the dragon again, a new platform of glyphs formed and set off on its path with speed.
"You can do it!" Weiss and Yang shouted.
The silver glow returned as the wind pushed against her, she held Crescent Rose and took a deep breath. She only had one chance now. The chance her team had given her. And as she reached out to her body, she swung with all her might, rose petals left trails wherever she passed.
The blade impacted and pierced deeply.
The sound was something indescribable. It was like a knife cutting through leather, if that leather was made of metal and gravel at the same time, and if caused sparks and a sound of twisted steel. Crescent Rose became more embedded and deformed, threatening to break at any moment. Her momentum carried her twenty meters or more, the scythe cutting into the side of the beast like a can opener. When her speed finally gave out, she had carved a huge gash in its side, but the wound was long and thin, at least compared to the size of the monster. It bled out and began to lose strength in its flight, but it was not yet dead.
His cloak shook as the dragon tried to maintain its flight through the air. It bent and dropped to one knee, eyes focused forward to where the monster's head was.
"Everything has a weak spot," he whispered. "I'm going to trust you, Uncle Qrow."
Ruby Rose ran down the creature's neck, one last effort, with a shot from her weapon she gained new speed, the petals formed on her body swirled around her, a red tornado began to form, this impacted the dragon's neck...slowly it began to pierce it. Ruby's eyes widened as she saw the shattered moon, she had succeeded, the Wyvern's neck had been severed, at this the creature began to fall due to gravity, slowly dissolving into thin air.
Ruby couldn't help but scream as she saw her fall, only to feel arms wrap around her.
"I won't let you fall...ever" Yang's body enveloped her...they both collided with multiple glyphs that tried to stop the impact, in the end they both impacted against Weiss who served as the last cushioning layer. All 3 impacted against the ground until they hit a debris that stopped their dragging.
"Did we make it?" Ruby asked softly, the pain in her body unbearable.
Weiss watched as the Grimm's corpse crashed several meters away from them...He didn't get up anymore.
"Yes" replied the heiress wearily.
"I guess I can cross ending a dragon off my list" Yang let out a small joke, but her smile was strained, she couldn't move anymore either, all 3 of them had no energy left. They all watched as an Atlas airship approached their position.
"What about Silver?" Ruby couldn't help but ask
/
"You have an interesting technique... No doubt you are much better than the invincible girl" Cinder did not hesitate to congratulate "But with these powers you are no match, Ozpin was an idiot to let this power go... but the idiocy of one is the benefit of another" the derisive laughter was clear
"Let's just say the old man didn't have the best plans, but I don't doubt he had the right heart in it" Silver tried to catch his breath.
"And go where he brought it, Beacon fell" the cruel reminder made Silver angry.
"Yeah... I'll make you pay for that" Silver's growl echoed loudly. Cinder frowned as a blue cloak surrounded the young man's body, he still had aura left to fight, the cut on his wouldn't stop bleeding "Next level."
The words were only a whisper as Silver spoke them slowly, but each letter echoed in the wind that traveled across the battlefield. A blizzard pierced the air flowing from one of Silver's swords, wind dust imbued in the weapon, the other resting on his hip; as the swordsman raised it above his head holding it with both hands, the edge pointing upwards. Then the warrior disappeared, teleporting away, only to appear behind Cinder, before vanishing moments later shimmering around his foe like a silver blur. Cinder tried to focus on Silver, but her maximum speed overwhelmed her, with her instincts she avoided several cuts or blocked them, but little by little the man increased his speed, seconds later Silver stopped his attack and appeared a few meters away from the woman who had several cuts on her body. The woman herself grunted at the pain and the audacity of the attack. Silver was panting, that speed to transport himself to the sword he was throwing to immediately appear on it and attack had taken its toll, more to do it in a row, he hoped that the cuts slowed down his opponent.
Silver didn't have time to think anymore as she saw Cinder approaching, the swords had been put aside, when she was too close the woman's fists opened and multiple crystal darts were thrown. Silver dodged them, but left herself open for Cinder to pass her guard. A sting ran across Silver's face as he was lifted a few feet by the blow to his chin from a fist covered in flames, the combo did not end, as Cinder grabbed Silver's leg and slammed him to the ground.
"Time to brand you like cattle" the overheated hands clamped down on the man's back who let out a scream as he felt his flesh burn, his aura had been broken. With what little he had left he transported himself to his nearest sword, Cinder's hands went to gripping the cement beneath Silver
"Your damned semblance is making me tired" in anger she generated a huge fireball, it could easily cover her whole body, without thinking she threw it at the nuisance that had challenged her
"And it will annoy you more" a tired smile formed on Silver's mouth.
Cinder's eyes widened as she saw the fireball heading towards her... They had both switched places. All she could do was take cover... The attack had consumed her.
When the pillar was consumed, Cinder's body could be seen burned in several places, her hair was uneven, and her breathing was agitated.
Silver was no better, that jump was probably his last, he had no more aura left to fight.
It was at this point that they both jerked at the tremor generated by the Wyvern's fall.
"No" was the whisper Cinder let out as he saw the great beast fall, more as he saw the Atlas ships approaching, with a bitter gulp he realized something... He had to flee.
"Don't even think I'll leave you" Silver raised her weapons as she saw the clear intent in the woman's eyes "Surely IronWood and Qrow will have some words for you" her body braced for a bit of a fight... She hoped they would get there fast.
Cinder grunted at this, her mind thinking about how to escape, fighting was not an option, she was sure that they could defeat Silver, but she would have no strength left to flee if reinforcements arrived... The boy was skillful, but also with a big heart.
A smile formed on her face as she saw the trio of girls lying on the floor.
"Then let's get on with this dance Silver" at that second a circle of fire formed around Weiss, Yang and Ruby who jumped in alarm at it "Or would you rather save them" Silver could not stop the sphere of fire that shot towards the old Beacon tower, which gave in to all the punishment it had taken, that attack was all that was left to fall.
"No" the whisper escaped Silver as she saw that the tower would crush them, the fire sphere would prevent them from fleeing in time, none of them had any aura left for their semblances, fear flooded the girls' eyes "Not again" using the last of her strength she used her semblance again.
"Tsk... I was hoping that you would try to stop me" Cinder clicked her tongue when she saw the 3 girls in the place where before was that boy who fought as an equal with her, without wasting time she ran away from the place.
Neither Weiss, Ruby or Yang saw that as they watched the tower fall where they were before, Silver's smile was the last thing they saw before the tower fell on top of him, the young man no longer had the strength to get out of there with another jump of his semblance, he had used the last one to save them.
Ruby fell to her knees at the sight, Yang and Weiss clenched their fists at the sight, but it was only a matter of time before they jumped in to try to move the debris, they had to save him.
Above them the ships of Atlas had arrived, but the smoke in the city was clearly indicative of the destruction.
The battle was over, but Beacon had fallen.
And cut
