Anais sniffled as she sat on the sofa, drinks, popcorn, and a pizza laid out on the table in front of her. Her brothers had promised her the day before that they would hang out with her and watch a movie she had wanted to see, and now she was sitting by herself, waiting for them to get home with the movie, looking forward to spending some quality time with her siblings.

The young rabbit sighed, her ears lowering. It had become very apparent to her theyhad other ideas, however. The two were taking forever to get back home, and she had a feeling she knew exactly why that was.

They'd never had any intention of ever actually watching the movie with her. In fact, they probably hadn't even bothered to actually go and rent it. They'd just made some empty, hollow promise to her the day before to make her happy, and were now hiding away, probably at some friends house, until the end of the day.

Darwin had called her earlier on and came up with some lame excuse to try and make it seem like they cared. He'd told her that they were busy helping some fat guy out of a manhole. Yeah right...it was obvious that they were just at some friend's house or the park, pretending to be on their way home with the movie they didn't really have. Getting her hopes up for no reason...

Her ears suddenly pricked up as she heard chewing next to her. She turned and saw her father chowing down on a slice of pizza he had snuck from the box.

"Dad, that pizza is supposed to be for me, Gumball, and Darwin..." She complained.

"Oh...sorry..." His ears fell slightly as he apologized

She sighed, defeated. "It's okay, you can have it...it's not as if they're gonna care..." She looked down with a sniffle.

The older rabbit went to continue eating but hesitated as he heard her let out a soft cry. He turned and looked at her concerned, before slowly putting the pizza down on the table and moving to sit down next to her. "Woah, hey, what's wrong sweetie pie?"

"...nothing...I-I-I'm fine..." She looked away as she tried to hide her tears.

"Awww, come on, you can talk to me..." He assured her, gently placing his paw on her knee

She bit her lip, hesitating. "It...i-it's n-nothing, honestly..."She mumbled as she struggled to hold back her tears.

The older bunny's ears lowered as he realized how upset she really was. "Oh, sweetheart...come here..." She heard him say. She slowly turned to face him and saw him with his arms held out, his expression kind and reassuring.

The young bunny hesitated, wiping the tears from her face as her uncertain gaze flicked away from her father. He noticed her hesitation and beckoned with paws, giving a small smirk. "Come on..."

A weak smile grew on her face as she gave in and leaned against his chest, feeling his arms wrap around her in a comforting embrace, his thumb beginning to slowly stroke the back of her head.

As Anais cuddled up against his chest she bit her lip and looked up at her father, her expression full of worry. "...Dad, am...am I boring?"

His expression lowered slightly, hurt that she would think such a thing. "What? Of course not, sweetie!"

She sniffled, tears beginning to escape and round down her cheeks. "Then why don't Gumball and Darwin want to hang out with me? Do they not like me?"

"Uh... well, uh... " He hesitated, biting his lip as tried to come up with an answer. Think, Richard, think! Your little girl is feeling insecure. This is a real parenting situation. What you say now could affect her for the rest of her life, so say the right thing. Say the right thing!

The older bunny took a deep breath and squeezed her paw as he began to speak, making sure to choose his words carefully. "Of course they like you sweetheart! You're their little sister and they love you very, very much! We all do!"

"Then..." She sniffed. "Then why don't they want to spend time with me? Why are they trying to avoid me?"

"They aren't avoiding you sweetie pie! They would never do that!"

She frowned, beginning to tear up again. "No, they are, I know they are!"

"What on earth makes you think that?"

"They promised me yesterday that they would watch this movie with me, a-a-and they left hours ago to go and rent it out, but they still aren't back! They're...they're probably just at one of their friend's houses hanging out with them instead. They never wanted to watch the movie with me...they...they just lied to give me false hope..." She explained, tears beginning to trickle down her face.

The older bunny pulled her in tighter, continuing to stroke her in an attempt to comfort her. "Oh, no, no, that's not true! I'm sure they're just held up by something."

She sniffled. "That's...that's what Darwin said, but I know it was just some lame excuse. They probably never even went to the video store..."

"Aww, come on sweetheart, you know they would never do something like that to you. I promise you Anais, Gumball, and Darwin really are trying their best to get home to you. I know they are.

The young bunny look at her father with uncertainty, Wanting to believe him but unsure if she could. "Are...are you sure? How do you know that?" She sniffled. "How...H-how do you know they aren't just trying to avoid me...b-because they hate hanging out with me?"

Richard hesitated, trying to come up with a good answer. Suddenly he smiled. "Because...you're such a smart, funny, adorable, and endearing little bunny that it's impossible for anyone to hate hanging out with you!" He smiled.

A weak smile slowly formed on the little bunny's face as she wiped her eyes. "R-Really...? You really mean that?"

He nodded, wiping her tears. "Of course I do sweetheart. Every single word. You're an amazing little sister to Gumball and Darwin, and they love you more than anything in the world. Whatever is taking them so long to get home, it's not your fault. It's nothing to do with anything about you, I promise."

The young rabbit sniffled again, her smile growing even further before she silently wrapped her arms around him in a tight embrace. She closed her eyes and rested her head again on her father's chest."Thank you...I really needed to hear that..."

"You're welcome, sweetie pie..." He chuckled.

Her smile lowered slightly as she looked down in thought. "So...if it's not because of me then why are they taking so long to get home?"

"I don't know honey, I honestly don't know. It's probably like they said, they got held up a little and are doing their best to get home. You just need to have a little faith in them, and trust that they'll get back in time. You trust them, don't you?" The older bunny asked.

She nodded. "Of course I do!"

"Then there's nothing for you to worry about, is there, hey?"

She thought for a moment, beginning to smile. "I...guess not..." She paused before wrapping her arms around him in a tight, loving embrace. "Thanks for the chat Dad, I really needed it."

"Aww, you're welcome." He chuckled, giving her head an affectionate rub. She responded with a soft purr and a happy smile. "I love you, Dad." She purred happily as she shifted onto his lap and snuggled up to him, head on chest and legs curled up. He smiled and gave her a kiss on the forehead.

"...I love you too sweetheart..."
