It's not that she was always aware of and remembered her old life. It's also not that it came to her suddenly one day.
It's like— it was there, but it took time for her to make sense of it. It was a process, but by the time she was three years old, it was all fairly clear.
Once she lived, then she died. And now she lives again.
Memories from before aren't crystal clear. She remembered having a brother, however she couldn't recall his name. Or her own name. Mostly, she remembered things by what she had read and learned.
The girl remembered learning English and Math and Science. She remembered her love for drawing and painting. She remembered cars and planes, television and the internet. However, she doesn't remember anyone.
They were all a blurry image.
The conflict of memories of The Before and the world she was experiencing now was hard to reconcile, but eventually she had somehow managed.
Surprisingly enough, there wasn't much differences apart from it being more, extremely more so, advanced in technology and agriculture.
There was also one noticeable difference between her old life and now: Quirks.
People here have superpowers of all sorts, some that you'd honestly question why it even exists. They have strange birthmarks, strange hair and eye colours, and some have very strange features.
She was still baffled about Quirk's and how such phenomenon, exists.
Her conclusion was simple: 'I have been reborn on a different planet, orbiting some distant star.' The people here, herself included, are what people in The Before would call aliens.
(Or, human's had evolved once more and where she is right now, is in fact the future. Nobody knows. Though she prefers her first answer more.)
There were still unanswered questions though. The language here reminded the girl of a language from The Before.
She wasn't too keen on which one it was. 'Maybe Chinese?' she didn't know and neither did she particularly bother to care.
She had never bothered with knowing or recognizing different languages in The Before. It wasn't her area of interest. Regardless, it is not completely alien to her.
There were more similarities, of course.
The calendar here has twelves months, and three hundred and sixty five days, plus one on leap year. They have seven day weeks. Sixty seconds in a minute, and sixty minutes in an hour. Each day has twenty four hours.
There are carrots and rice and apples and bread. There are cows, pigs, and chickens. There are cats and dogs, deer and rabbits. Mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds...
She finally hypothesised that maybe she actually had been reborn thousands of years into the future, the people here are decendents of regular human beings, evolved to biologically suit this new world.
But how they evolved into this? The whole new world seemed like something out of a marvel comic book.
(Or maybe she is in a comic book, who knows. DC, Marvel or any other super-power/hero genre.)
It wasn't long until she realised that she wasn't exactly wrong; figuring out that the world has indeed evolved along side human's, as well: what had caused the evolution? Sadly, there was no exact answer available, only hypothesis'.
She was an inquisitive child. However, she also had a very strong sense of determination.
Because as soon as she came to a good conclusion about her new circumstance; she will live.
(She totally did not have a panic attack when she finally realised the world she had been born in was My Hero Academia. As a main Charecter and love interest—no less. At least she wasn't born in Naruto or Attack on Titan...)
