Chapter 2-Stockman's Back!
Donnie's side…
"Mikey…! Mikey…!"
Donnie called out his immediate little brother's name as he jumped from one rooftop to another during his search for him. He had been doing this for the past 20 minutes now, and he still hadn't found any sign of him.
It wasn't until he jumped on the fifth rooftop that he had eventually found Mikey, but what he saw shocked him.
The orange-banded turtle was smashing glass bottles and breaking old crates with his nun-chucks, and then he replaced them with new ones before proceeding to break and smash them all again as he spoke to himself.
"Stupid Leo…Stupid Raph…!"
SMASH!
"Why tell me off, Dad!? Have I always been a massive disappointment to you!? Did you think I never had the potential to begin with!?"
SMASH!
"You…you're all a bunch of TRAITORS!"
SMASH! CRASH!
'Shell…he's really upset…I gotta do something fast before he hurts himself…' Donnie thought in sadness before he slowly approached Mikey, who stopped when he sensed him coming towards him.
"What are you doing here, Don?" Mikey questioned without looking behind him.
"I came looking for you…" Donnie answered as calmly and gently as he could.
"Well, you've found me and I'm fine…so, you can go back home now…" Mikey replied coldly before resuming on his little 'training session'.
"You're gonna hurt yourself if you keep this up…" Donnie warned in concern.
"So? Why do you care!? Cos nobody does! Even if I died alone somewhere, none of you would give a shell about me!" Mikey shouted bitterly in a heartbroken tone before he smashed another bottle.
Donnie was shocked to the core. He had never heard his little brother think or say such a horrific thing like that in his life.
"Mikey, stop this…!" He commanded firmly as he walked over to him and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Stop what, Donnie!? Being a pain in the shell!? A screw-up!? A failure!?" Mikey snapped as he shrugged off Donnie's hand, turned around sharply, and glared fiercely at Donnie.
"Wha-? No, I'm just-"
"I have tried my BEST for you guys, but it's never EVER good enough!" Mikey shouted in frustration, cutting off a stunned Donnie, before he started pacing as he spoke again.
"I'm not as courageous as Leo, I'm not as strong as Raph, and I'm not as smart as you! But Master Splinter is expecting me to be more like all of you, and not like myself! You're all perfect! You're a perfect team with just the three of you! But as soon as I'm in the picture, everything gets ruined and you all see me as a useless, screwed-up burden!"
He then grabbed another bottle and threw it at the wall with a roar after he stopped pacing altogether.
"I-I'm…I'm always viewed as the one who never does anything right…and I'm tired of it…! I-I can't take it anymore!" He then cried out before he covered his face, collapsed onto his knees, and broke down sobbing.
Donnie felt really awful for Mikey; his little brother had tried so hard to gain his family's respect and appreciation throughout his whole life, and yet he was still being treated as if he would never be perfect enough as both a ninja and as a family member by his own father and brothers.
"Oh, Mikey…I'm so sorry…I should've done more to support you back there…" He said as he knelt down near his brother and engulfed him in a comforting hug.
"N-No…A-At least you were there…for me…N-No-one ever does…" Mikey hiccupped as he continued sobbing in his brother's arms.
"Mikey, we're brothers; we may have our differences, but we'll always be there for each other…!" Donnie pointed out whilst slightly tightening the hug.
"I-I…I really hope that girl…l-lives…a-after everything that's happened…" Mikey sobbed pleadingly.
"I do too, but…All we can do right now is hope, Mikey…she's in the care of the doctors and nurses now…" Donnie told his brother after letting out a sigh.
"But listen, bro…even if she doesn't make it through this, what matters is that she's now in a safe and comfortable place and not suffering painfully in a cold dark street, and it's all thanks to you…at least you had the guts to do what the rest of us didn't do tonight…" He then said proudly with a warm smile.
Mikey released a small gasp. He couldn't believe that his immediate older brother had said such an amazing thing about him.
"Come on, Mikey, let's go home…Everyone's worried about you…" Donnie said softly as he slightly loosened the hug to look at his brother's face.
"T-There's no point in me going back home, Donnie…I don't have a place there anymore…" Mikey replied miserably.
"Of course you have a place there…! Come on, bro, let's-"
"Hello, turtles…! It's been a long time…"
An eerie but familiar voice was suddenly heard from above the duo, cutting Donnie's sentence off and making him and Mikey jump, before they looked up and their eyes widened when they recognised who it was.
"Stockman!? What do you want!?" Donnie questioned firmly.
"Oh, nothing…just a couple of test subjects for my newest invention…!" Stockman answered before he lifted his hand up to reveal the device.
"W-What's that?" Mikey asked nervously.
"I call it the 'De-generator Gauntlet', and you will find out its effects soon enough, freaks…!" Stockman answered scarily before he charged towards the turtles whilst activating the weapon.
"Move!" Donnie cried out.
"Woah!" Mikey yelled as he and Donnie dodged Stockman.
"Mikey, keep Stockman busy while I call Leo!" Donnie then commanded.
"O-Ok…! Yikes!" Mikey replied in fear before he yelped as he dodged Stockman's attack again.
With Mikey distracting Stockman, Donnie immediately ran towards a pile of crates to hide, and then he took out his shell cell and pressed Leo's number.
"Come on, Leo, pick up…!" Donnie begged anxiously.
"Hello?" Leo's voice was soon heard on the other side of the phone, much to Donnie's relief.
"Leo! You and Raph need to get over here now!" Donnie cried out immediately.
"Why? What's going on!?" Leo questioned in a more serious tone when he heard how panicked Donnie sounded.
"It's Baxter Stockman! He's back, and he's got a new weapon! He's trying to test it on us right now!" Donnie answered before watching Mikey dodge out of Stockman's way.
"Alright, we're on our way! Just hang in there until then!" Leo replied calmly.
"Ok, but please hurry!" Donnie begged before he ended the call.
Unbeknownst to Donnie, Stockman had switched targets and was now aiming his new weapon at him after discovering his hiding place!
"Donnie, look out!" Mikey cried out as he ran towards Donnie and pushed him out of the way, but he himself wasn't quick enough to dodge Stockman's attack.
"AAARRRGGGHHH!" The orange-banded turtle screamed out in pain as Stockman's palm of the gauntlet touched his plastron and sent powerful shock waves through his whole body.
A moment later, Mikey's body had begun to shrink until there was nothing but his trench coat and hat left, both of which had now fallen onto the ground.
"Mikey, NOOO!" Donnie cried out in horror after he had got up and saw all of this happen. He then looked at Stockman, who had an evil smirk on his face.
"WHAT DID YOU DO TO HIM, STOCKMAN!?" He shouted in extreme anger before he charged towards him in a rage, but the scientific cyborg quickly dodged it.
"It seems that I've increased the settings a little too high…but, at least I have one less turtle to worry about getting in my way now…!" Stockman said in thought before he flew higher into the air again.
"Stockman! Get down here NOW!" Donnie cried out demandingly, still enraged at the cyborg.
"Sorry, turtle, but I must go and make a note on my new weapon's success! Farewell, freak! Ah, ha, ha, ha, ha…!" Stockman replied snidely before he flew away whilst laughing evilly.
Donnie wanted to chase after Stockman and make him pay for what he did to Mikey, but he couldn't because he didn't want to leave behind what was left of his little brother, which was a hat and trench coat. He simmered his rage down and walked slowly towards where Mikey had fallen, and then he collapsed onto his hands and knees before breaking down.
"Mikey…I-I'm so sorry…T-This is all my fault…" He sobbed.
Then, at the corner of his eye, he saw slight movement under the coat, and did he just here a noise coming from under there too?
When he slowly reached and lifted up the coat, his eyes widened in absolute shock; right in front of him was a baby turtle with an orange-coloured ninja mask wrapped around its body!
