Heart of the Cards - Yoshi vs Cuba
It was a couple of days after the Spirit of the Millennium Pendant had been reawakened. Yoshi and her friends were at their school, where Yoshi and Selina were playing Duel Monsters.
"Okay Selina your move." Yoshi said.
"I'm thinking." Selina said, rubbing her head.
"So what are you gals doing?" Minayo asked, as she leaned on Selina's shoulder. "Are you playing charades?"
"No Minayo." Selina said. "Yoshi's teaching me how to play her favourite card game Duel Monsters."
"Oh I see." Minayo said, and she leaned back and stood by Amia, Reyn and Linta.
"These two have been at it for hours now." Amia said. "Selina seems to be getting the hang of it but Yoshi's like a pro."
"So how do Duel Monsters work Amia?" Linta asked.
As Amia was about to explain, Selina made her move.
"Okay Yoshi, it's time to duel." Selina said, as she took a card out of her hand and placed it on the board. Her card was Warrior of the Sun, which had 800 ATK and 650 DEF Points.
"See the card Selina put on the field?" Amia said. "Each Duel Monster has an Attack Point number and a Defence Point number. The first player to eliminate all 2,000 of their opponent's Life Points is the winner."
"Not a bad move right Yoshi?" Selina asked.
"Nope, not a bad move." Yoshi said, as she pulled a card from her hand, and placed it on the field. "But sadly not good enough." Yoshi's card was the Wingless Dragon Protector of the Mountains, which had 1,500 ATK and 1,230 DEF.
"Oh bother." Selina said. "Lost again. But I'm getting better right Yoshi?"
"Each duel makes you grow stronger." Yoshi said.
"But how do you have such strong monsters, Yosh?" Selina asked.
Nearby them a girl that had the same colour hair and eyes as Kaiba was reading a book at her desk.
"My three Cousins own their own game shop and I get all my best cards there." Yoshi replied. "But there are these really rare cards my Cousins have and never let out of their sight."
"Hmm, rare cards." The girl thought. "Could they've found the cards I've been searching for ever since I beat my pathetic cousin Kaiba?"
After school Yoshi and her friends arrived at Yoshi's house which was also a game shop.
"Cousin Diego, Cousin Alicia, Cousin Dora!" Yoshi called. "I'm home."
Yoshi's Cousins walked out from the back of the shop and to the counter.
"Hello Cousin Yoshi." Diego said. "And I see you brought some of your friends with you."
"Cool game shop." Linta said, looking at all the Yu-Gi-Oh cards on display.
"Cousins, could you please show my friends your most treasured cards please?" Yoshi asked.
"Well okay Yoshi since you asked so nicely." Alicia said. "But we don't take them out that often."
Dora came back out with a box, she placed it on the counter and opened it. Inside were three cards of the same monster.
"Here they are." Dora said. "The Gold-Eyes Golden Dragons." The Gold-Eyes Golden Dragons all had 3,000 ATK and 2,800 DEF. "Our most treasured cards."
"Wow they must be so special to you three am I right?" Reyn asked.
"Yes they are." Diego said. "There are only six of them in the world, we have three, but we don't know who might have the other ones."
"Um mind if I ask you something?" Selina asked. "Were they given to you by friends?"
But before anyone could answer her the door to the game shop swung open and there was the girl that had the same hair like Kaiba, but she had a briefcase in her left hand.
"Who's that?" Amia wondered.
"Isn't that Cuba Sata?" Reyn asked. "What's she doing here?"
"Doesn't she have a big company to run?" Linta questioned.
"Why's she here and not running her company?" Minayo asked.
"Not that it's any of your businesses but I came to see the cards." Cuba said, coldly.
"Wait, you're into Duel Monsters too?" Selina asked. "This is cool, maybe we can all duel together sometime."
"Me duel you losers?" Cuba asked, as she walked to the counter. "I'd have more of a challenge playing a game of Solitaire or Chess."
"What?" Selina asked.
"You see I'm the undefeated, unbeatable and uncontested Duel Monsters champion in the entire world." Cuba said proudly, but coldly. "None of you would last even 2 seconds in a duel against me."
"But I thought Seto Kaiba was number 1." Minayo said.
"Not anymore." Cuba said. "His pathetic Blue-Eyes White Dragons didn't stand a chance against me."
"Kaiba's not pathetic!" Selina said crossly. "Maybe we should settle this with fists instead of cards!"
"Woah easy Selina!" Yoshi cried, getting in between her and Cuba.
"But Yosh, Cuba's asking for it." Selina said.
"Now then, does this shop have any worthwhile cards or not?" Cuba asked, then she looked at the cards in the box. She pushed towards the counter. "Can it be? It is. The Gold-Eyes Golden Dragons! In a dump like this!"
"It is!" Cuba thought. "The cards I've been searching for!"
Dora, thinking that enough was enough, closed the box and brought it back in her arms.
"Well that's enough window shopping." Dora said, as Alicia and Diego came to her side. "Now is there anything else we can help you with?"
Feeling annoyed Cuba grabbed her briefcase and slammed it on the counter. She opened it, turned it around and showed what was inside to Dora, Alicia and Diego.
"Listen to me you three!" Cuba said. "You give me your Gold-Eyes Golden Dragons and I'll trade you three for all of these!"
Inside her case were a lot of rare and powerful Duel Monsters cards.
"Wow!" Selina and the other girls gasped.
"Ah, that's a nice collection." Diego admired. "But no thank you."
"Oh." Selina and the other girls said.
"Fine! If you won't trade, maybe you'll sell them." Cuba said. "Name your prices. I can pay for anything that you three ask."
"We're sure you could." Diego began. "But these cards are worth more to Alicia, Dora and me than you could ever offer."
"Not because of their power or their rarity." Alicia continued. "But because of what they mean to Diego, Dora and me."
"These cards were given to us by some dear friends." Dora concluded. "And so we treasure these cards as we do those friends."
"So parting with them is completely out of the question." All three of them finished.
Cuba gasped as she clenched her fist. "No!"
"You three'd feel the same even if they were common cards right Cousins?" Yoshi asked, with a smile.
"Exactly." Diego, Alicia and Dora answered. "These precious cards have bonded with our hearts."
"Fine!" Cuba said, while slamming her briefcase shut. "I've heard enough of your nonsense!" Cuba grabbed her briefcase and walked out of the shop. "Ceniles old fools!"
Cuba entered her limbo and the driver drove from the game shop. Inside the limbo Cuba was thinking.
"Heart in the Cards?" Cuba thought. "Ridiculous! These cards are all about power, power and more power! And one way or another there Gold-Eyes Golden Dragon Cards will be mine!"
The next morning early, at Cuba's company that was called CubaKorp, Cuba had some of her employees collect something.
"Ladies. There's a little something I want you to pick up for me at the game shop." Cuba said.
"Gladly Mistress Cuba."
Later that day outside the game shop Cuba's employees arrived outside. Inside Diego, Alicia and Dora were cleaning the counter when the door opened.
"Good morning." They said as their eyes squinted. "Hmm?"
The employees were there and the short bald one in a lavender bowtie stepped forward.
"My Mistress Cuba Sata challenges all three of you to a duel." She informed. "You three'll come with us now."
"And if we were to decline?" They asked.
"I'm afraid I must insist." Came the reply, as the two others behind her stepped forward.
"Young Cuba doesn't understand." Diego, Alicia and Dora all thought. "But we'll teach her a lesson about the Heart of the Cards."
Meanwhile Yoshi and her friends had finished school and were now walking back to the game shop.
"I sure hope they have some cool cards today." Selena said, hoping to upgrade her deck.
"Same here." Yoshi smiled.
"Yeah." Amia, Reyn, Linta and Minayo smiled.
They arrived at the game shop and opened the door.
"Okay Diego, Alicia and Dora." Selena said. "I came back to get some more cards."
But there were no replies.
"Hey!" Selena said. "Diego! Alicia! Dora!"
"Cousins, I'm home." Yoshi said.
"Maybe they went out." Minayo said.
"Perhaps." Amia said. "But they would've called Yoshi first."
"If they went out then why'd they leave the door unlocked?" Linta asked.
Then the telephone rang, Reyn went over and answered it.
"Hello?" Reyn asked. "Yeah she's here." Reyn then turned to Yoshi. "It's for you."
Yoshi took the phone and answered. "Hello? Game shop."
"Ah Yoshi. Perfect." A familiar voice said on the phone. Then we see the conversation on Cuba's end too.
"Cuba?" Yoshi asked.
"Your Cousins are here visiting but they're not feeling well." Cuba said coldly. "Why don't you come by my office and pick them up?" Then Cuba hung up on her end.
"CUBA!" Yoshi shouted. "What have you done Cuba?" But all she heard was a 'beep' sound.
Wasting no time, Yoshi and her friends raced to CubaKorp as fast as they could. It was getting dark by the time they got there and ran inside. They reached the elevator and it instantly went to the top floor. When they got there and the doors opened Yoshi saw her Cousins lying on the floor.
"Diego! Alicia! Dora!" Yoshi cried, running up to her cousins moaning in pain. Diego! Alicia! Dora! Are you three okay?"
"Yoshi…" Diego moaned. "We failed. Alicia, Dora and I wanted to teach that girl Cuba a lesson about the Heart of the Cards, but we lost." Then he groaned in pain.
"Diego! Alicia! Dora!" Yoshi cried.
"How's the three fools feeling hmmm?" Cuba's voice came, as she was standing in a doorway.
"Cuba!" Selena yelled. "You sleaze bucket!"
"What have you done to them?" Amia asked angrily.
"We had a duel that's all." Cuba said. "With each of us putting up our most valuable cards as the prizes. But I guess playing against a champion like me was just too much stimulation for them. Even three on one they couldn't beat me."
"Cuba!" Reyn snapped and pointed her finger at her. "You should be ashamed of yourself!"
"Very ashamed of yourself!" Linta added crossly.
"You're nothing but a bully!" Minayo shouted. "How dare you pick on people just to prove you're better!"
"It was fair." Cuba said. Then she took out some things from her pocket. "And look at the sweet prizes I won." It was Diego, Alicia and Dora's Gold-Eyes Golden Dragon Cards. Then she ripped all three of the cards in half in front of everyone.
"She tore our treasure!" Alicia cried, but then moaned in pain. As everyone else gasped.
"My Cousins most treasured cards!" Yoshi cried.
"Yes, the Gold-Eyes Golden Dragons are rare and powerful cards." Cuba said, as she dropped the pieces of the teared cards. "And these ones will never be used against me."
"AH!" Dora cried. "Our Gold-Eyes Golden Dragons! Our treasure!" Then she, Diego and Alicia moaned in pain.
"Diego! Alicia! Dora! Hold on!" Yoshi said. Then she faced Cuba with anger in her eyes. "How could you do such a thing!"
"Yoshi here!" Diego, Alicia and Dora said. "Take these!" It was their deck of Duel Monster Cards.
"Huh?" Yoshi asked, looking at them. "Diego? Alicia? Dora?"
"We built this deck. We put our souls in these cards. And we taught you everything we know, Yoshi." All three said together. "Take them. Take our cards and teach her respect. Teach Cuba respect for the Heart of the Cards, Yoshi."
"But Diego, Alicia, Dora, you three need help." Yoshi said. "I've gotta get you three to a doctor right away."
"Sounds to me like an excuse." Cuba said, stepping forward. "Your friends can take care of your Cousins. While you and I duel. Unless you're scared."
Yoshi was cross and upset, she wanted to teach Cuba a lesson but she had to get her Cousins to the hospital.
"Take her Yoshi!" Selena cried.
"Huh?" Yoshi asked, turning around.
"We can take care of your Cousins!" Amia said.
"While you take care of Creepy Cuba!" Reyn added.
"Teach that rich spoiled bratette what a real duel's all about!" Linta said.
"For your Cousins, Yoshi!" Minayo said.
"Uh, I don't know girls." Yoshi said, doubting herself.
"Trust us you're like the greatest player we've ever seen!" Selena said. "And you've got the Millennium Pendant! You can do this Yoshi! We know you can!"
"We all do!" The other girls said.
Yoshi now feeling her friends' support and faith in her changed her face to a look of determination.
"Hmm." Yoshi nodded. "Okay Cousins. I'll do it." Yoshi said as she took the deck her Cousins were holding.
"We know you will our little Cuz!" Diego, Alicia and Dora smiled.
"Everyone." Minayo said, getting out a black marker pen. "Put your hands together." They did that as Minayo then drew on their hands. "And I'll mark us with a special sign."
"Huh?" Yoshi pondered looking at it.
"What exactly is it, Minayo?" Selena asked.
"Yeah girlfriend. What gives?" Amia asked.
"It's a symbol of our friendship." Minayo said, showing her sign. "So when Yoshi's duelling, no matter how tough or hard it gets, she'll know that she's not alone. We're all right there with her!"
"Mmmm!" Yoshi nodded.
Soon an ambulance arrived outside the front door of CubaKorp, as Selena, Amia, Reyn, Linta and Minayo rushed out with Diego on Linta's Back, Alicia on Reyn's Back and Dora on Minayo's Back. They stopped by the ambulance to load Yoshi's Cousins inside. Amia then looked at Selena.
"Selena. Reyn, Linta, Minayo and I'll take Yoshi's Cousins to the hospital." Amia said. "Why don't you get back in there and cheer Yoshi on?"
"Okay!" Selena said. "Take good care of them girls!"
Meanwhile back inside Cuba and Yoshi had arrived at the Duelling Field. It looked like the one at KaibaCorp, but with some differences. The stands were in the shapes of Duel Monsters, the duel chairs were green and purple and the dome ceiling was golden.
"I designed this virtual stadium myself, impressive hmm?" Cuba asked. "I think you'll agree it adds a bit more life to the game." Then both chairs extended forward above the white squares. "We each start with 2,000 life points, the first player to hit 0 loses. Now are you ready to play bratt?"
"Playtime's officially over Cuba!" Yoshi shouted, getting her attention.
Then the next thing she saw was Yoshi's pendant glowing brightly.
"DINOSAUR!" Yoshi yelled out, as the light engulfed her. Once the light had died down Yoshi had gone through a transformation. Well not like changing forms, she just grew several inches and her hair became much longer and smoother. She then looked at Cuba with a look of determination.
"Uh!" Cuba gasped, at the sudden transformation. "What the-?"
"Now Cuba." Yoshi said. "Prepare yourself! Because now It's time to Duel!"
And it was time to duel as Cuba made the first move. As on the scoreboard both screens automatically set 2,000 Life Points of both of them.
Yoshi: 2,000
Cuba: 2,000
"Virtual systems ready." Cuba said. "So let's begin!" Then she placed a card down. "I go on the attack with the mighty Hitotsu-Me Giantess!" Then something started appearing on the field. "Brace yourself Yoshi. You've never, ever duelled like this before." Suddenly a hologram of the monster came out onto the field. The Hitotsu-Me Giantess was a gender-swapped version of the Hitotsu-Me Giant. It had the same 1,200 ATK Points and 1,000 DEF Points.
"Huh?" Yoshi gasped, seeing the giantess in front of her. "She's brought the monster on the card to life."
"It's my Virtual Simulator!" Cuba said. "I got it from my pathetic Cousin Kaiba after I defeated him. It creates lifelike holograms of every single Duel Monster."
"So this is how you beat my Cousins!" Yoshi cried, then she held up a Card of her own. "Well now it's my turn! I call upon the Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress!" Yoshi placed her card down and a hologram of her Dragon appeared on the field. The Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress had 1,400 ATK Points and 1,200 DEF Points.
Both monsters growled and roared at each other as a battle was about to happen. THen Selena arrived and was shocked at seeing the holograms.
"What?" Selena gasped. "Monsters?! Real monsters?!"
The Hitotsu-Me Giantess then growled and lunged for Yoshi's Dragon.
"Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress!" Yoshi called. "Attack the Hitotsu–Me Giantess! FIREBALL ATTACK!"
Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress then blasted a fireball from its mouth and it landed a direct hit on the Hitotsu-Me Giantess.
"UAH!" Cuba groaned, as she shielded her eyes.
Because her monster was weaker than Yoshi's, her Hitotsu-Me Giantess was destroyed.
"Big Sister!" Cried a girl that looked like Mokuba. "Are you alright?"
Because of Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress having 200 more ATK Points than the Giantess, Cuba lost 200 Life Points.
On the scoreboard the screen on Cuba's Life Points dropped to 1,800.
Yoshi: 2,000
Cuba: 1,800
"All right!" Selena cheered. "Go Yoshi!"
Cuba then drew her next Card and scoffed.
"Hu! Very well played, Yoshi for a beginner." Cuba scoffed. "But now how will you deal with this?" She placed a card down and another monster appeared.
This time it was Saggi the Dark Clown who had 600 ATK Points and 1,500 DEF Points.
"Saggi the Dark Clown?" Yoshi asked. "But that card has hardly any attack strength."
"True, very true." Cuba said. "It's true your Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress' Attack power's at 1,400 while my Saggi the Dark Clown's Attack is only 600." Then Cuba placed another card down. "But if I combined it with this card…"
"Oh! A Spell Card!" Yoshi realised.
"Precisely." Cuba said. "The Negative Energy Generator. It multiplies my monster's Attack by three."
Saggi laughed as negative energy surrounded him and his Attack Points increased from 600 to 1,800 making it 400 Points stronger than Yoshi's Dragon.
"Saggi the Dark Clown!" Cuba called. "Attack the Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress with dark light!"
Saggi then gathered a ball of dark light and fired it at the Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress. Because Yoshi's monster was weaker, her Dragon was destroyed and she lost 400 Life Points.
"As you can see, combinding cards can be very effective." Cuba said, smugly.
On the scoreboard the screen showed Yoshi's Life Points drop to 1,600
Cuba: 1,800
Yoshi: 1,600
"She's good, really good!" Yoshi thought to herself. "She knows every aspect of this game." Yoshi then got ready to draw her next card. "But my Cousins put all of their gaming knowledge, their whole hearts into assembling this deck. I just have to believe that it holds some sort of secret strategy." Yoshi picked up her next card and it was the Right Leg of the Forbidden One. "Hmm this card's not strong enough. I can't beat Saggi the Dark Clown with this. I'll have to use another Monster in Defence Mode!" Yoshi then placed a card sideways face-down on the field. "The monster will be sacrificed but my overall Life Points will be protected."
This time a Monster's hologram didn't appear but the simulator glowed ready to show the monster later when it was attacked.
"DARK LIGHT ATTACK!" Cuba called, as Saggi attacked Yoshi's face-down Monster, revealing it to be Cotton Ball which had 1,150 ATK Points and 750 DEF Points. Because Cotton Ball was in Defence Mode, Yoshi's Life Points didn't go down, but her monster was destroyed.
"Hang in there Yoshi!" Selena called, as she slammed her fists on the stands.
Saggi the Dark Clown kept destroying Yoshi's Monsters in Defence Mode.
"Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!" Cuba laughed in her mind, as Saggi destroyed Yoshi's Guardian Elf.
"UUH!" Yoshi grunted, as her Torike was destroyed by Saggi.
"Pah! You're not faring any better than the three fools did, Yoshi!" Cuba taunted. "Your deck's just as weak, feeble and pathetic as your Cousins!"
"My Cousins are great people and far better Duellists than you'll ever be!" Yoshi shouted. "They entrusted me with their cards and I can feel their hearts in this deck! I doubt that you've got that kind of faith in your cards Cuba!"
"Wha?" Cuba asked.
"But I believe in my Cousins' deck!" Yoshi said, as she drew her next card. In slow motion Yoshi pulled her card up to her hand and she then smiled. "And my faith rewards me with Gaia the Fierce Knightress!" Then a female version of Gaia the Fierce Knight appeared on the field. "With a destructive power of 2,300!"
"Uh!" Cuba gasped.
The Knightress on her purple steed neighed and charged at Saggi the Dark Clown with her lances down. Gaia then struck Saggi right in the chest with her lance and destroyed him. Because Yoshi's Monster was stronger, Saggi was destroyed and Cuba lost 500 Life Points.
On the scoreboard Cuba's screen once again showed as her Life Points dropped to 1,300.
Yoshi: 1,600
Cuba: 1,300
"Way to go Yoshi!" Selena cheered.
"Alright Cuba!" Yoshi said. "It's your move!"
"Ha! This'll be over sooner than you think!" Cuba said, as she drew her next card. "Hmm." Looking at it and then placing it on the field. "I call on the Gold-Eyes Golden Dragon!"
Then the Gold-Eyes Golden Dragon appeared and roared to signal its presence. Yoshi and Selena were shocked.
"Huh?" Yoshi gasped. "No way!"
"That's impossible!" Selena cried. "We all watched Cuba tear those Cards in half!"
"Surprised?" Cuba questioned. "Did you really think your Cousins were the only ones to possess a Gold-Eyes Golden Dragon Yoshi?"
Then the Gold-Eyes Golden Dragon roared as golden energy built up in its mouth and fired its attack at Gaia the Fierce Knightress. The Knightress' Horse neighed as the attack hit and destroyed it. Because Cuba's Monster's stronger, Yoshi lost 700 Life Points.
"UH!" Yoshi groaned, as she shielded her eyes from the blinding light. Once it faded Yoshi looked at the scoreboard.
On the scoreboard the screen on Yoshi's side showed as her Life Points dropped to 900.
Cuba: 1,300
Yoshi: 0900
"Ha! Your Fierce Knightress' destroyed." Cuba said, as her Dragon hissed. "Faith or no faith you will fall before my superior Monsters Yoshi. Power, power and more power is just what this game's all about you fool! Faith is for losers! Like your pathetic Cousins!"
As the duel went on Cuba's Dragon destroyed more of Yoshi's Defence Mode Monsters including a Celtic Guardian, a Beaver Warrior and a Battle Ox.
"In your entire deck, there's not a single Monster Card that can stand up to a Gold-Eyes Golden Dragon!" Cuba boasted. "So tell me what hope do you have against two?" She asked, showing her second Gold-Eyes Golden Dragon Card.
As the first one hissed the second one appeared on the field and also hissed too.
"Why don't you just give up and admit defeat Yoshi?" Cuba asked, as her Dragons hissed.
"Hoh!" Yoshi said, as she stared at the Dragons, then she remembered what she's fighting for.
Meanwhile at the hospital Amia, Reyn, Linta and Minayo were running with Yoshi's Cousins on stretchers and air masks on their faces.
"Don't give up, Yoshi." Diego, Alicia and Dora said, weakly.
Back at the stadium Yoshi put her look of determination back on. "I won't give up! Diego, Alicia and Dora are counting on me!" Yoshi said, as she drew her next card. "Huh?" Yoshi's next card was a Spell Card with three swords of light on it. "A Spell Card. Swords of Revealing Light!" Suddenly a bunch of Swords made of Light appeared above Cuba's Dragons. "It stops all enemy monsters on the field for 3 full turns!" Yoshi said, as the Swords of Revealing Light locked Cuba's Dragons in them as they hissed.
"How despite." Cuba scoffed. "Just what good will a three turn delay do for you?"
"She's right, what do I do?" Yoshi thought as she looked at the cards in her hand. Her hand contained The Rude Kaiser, another Spell Card, Right Leg of the Forbidden One, Left Leg of the Forbidden One and Right Arm of the Forbidden One. "I just can't quite figure out what to do with these Cards. There're just a bunch of pieces. How can I use these pieces to battle an expert like Cuba?"
"For someone claiming to have faith, you're giving up too easily Yoshi." Diego's Voice said.
Yoshi turned around and saw Diego, Alicia and Dora's spirits appear in a black background.
"Listen sometimes the cards are just like a puzzle." Alicia's Voice said.
"You have to put all the different pieces into their proper places." Dora Voice said.
"Oh like the Millennium Pendant?" Yoshi asked them, looking at her pendent.
"Exactly, each piece helps build a greater entity." They all said, before their spirits disappeared.
"Diego! Alicia! Dora!" Yoshi cried.
"Like the pieces of a puzzle Yoshi!" Their Voices echoed. "Remember!"
"Puzzle? When are the cards like a puzzle?" Yoshi pondered, then he remembered something her Cousins told her. "Hey wait a minute, Diego, Alicia and Dora once said…"
Then Yoshi remembered what her Cousins told her one day in the game shop.
"Duel Monsters contains only one unstoppable Monster; Exodia." Diego said.
"But he can only be summoned by drawing all five special cards." Alicia added.
"A feat to this very day that no one's been able to accomplish." Dora finished.
Then Cuba brings Yoshi back from her train of thoughts.
"Quit your stalling Yoshi!" Cuba said. "Or you'll forfeit the match!"
"I never, ever forfeit!" Yoshi said, as she drew her next card. Yoshi looked at it and it was the Left Arm of the Forbidden One. "Another piece of the puzzle!"
"Draw any card you like, it won't help you." Cuba said, as she summoned her next creature. "My Dragons might be frozen for another 2 turns, but my new Monster's under no such spell!" Then a Monster that looked like a judge appeared. "The Judge Woman! With an attack power of 2,200!"
The Judge Woman then threw her spike ball down and destroyed Yoshi's Rude Kaiser she had set. It roared in pain before it was destroyed.
"Uh." Yoshi gasped, as she drew her next card which reveal to be the Dark Magician Girl. "Oh no Dark Magician Girl's not strong enough to beat her monster." Then Yoshi noticed the Spell Card in her hand. "Wait a minute, this card raises any Spellcasters Attack and Defence Power by 500. So I can attack with the Dark Magician Girl, but she won't stand a chance once Cuba's Dragons are free of my spell."
"First I summon Dark Magician Girl!" Yoshi said, as a beautiful and petite blonde haired woman wearing a blue hat along with a blue outfit that was a little revealing with pink outlines, and a circle with a star on it at the top of her dress holding a short staff. She had 2,000 ATK Points and 1,700 DEF Points.
"Hate to break you, Yoshi." Cuba smirked. "But your Monster's still 200 Points weaker than mine."
"I never said I was done yet Cuba! Now I combined my Dark Magician Girl with the Wander Wand of Magic!" Yoshi said, placing a Spell Card that had a wand on it. "It raises my Spellcaster's Attack and Defence power by 500."
Suddenly Dark Magician Girl's staff glowed as a second wand appeared in her hand. As magical sparkles surrounded her and increased her Attack and Defence by 500 Points. Her ATK Points raised to 2,500 and her DEF Points raised to 2,200.
"DARK MAGICIAN GIRL! ATTACK!" Yoshi called.
"HYAH!" Dark Magician Girl yelled, firing her magic blast at the Judge Woman and destroying her.
Because Yoshi's Monster was stronger, Cuba lost 300 Life Points.
On the scoreboard on Cuba's side it showed as Cuba's Life Points dropped to 1,000.
Cuba: 1,000
Yoshi: 0900
"Your Judge Woman falls!" Yoshi declared.
"Oh a sacrifice that doesn't even faze me." Cuba said, as she drew her next card. "And although neither Dragon can move for just 1 more turn. My next card is the third Gold-Eyes Golden Dragon!" Cuba said, as she summoned it.
"Oh!" Yoshi gasped.
Then the third and last Gold-Eyes Golden Dragon appeared and roared.
"Now my Dragon, ATTACK!" Cuba ordered.
The Dragon launched its attack at the Dark Magician Girl and destroyed her.
"AAAAHHHH!!!" Dark Magician Girl cried being destroyed. Because she was weaker than Cuba's Dragon, Yoshi lost 500 Life Points.
"OH!" Yoshi cried, shielding her eyes again.
On the scoreboard on Yoshi's side it showed as Yoshi's Life Points dropped to 400.
Cuba: 1,000
Yoshi: 0400
"So tell me Yoshi, who's your faith now?" Cuba asked. All three of Cuba's Dragons are now on the field and the other two were free of her Spell Card. "On my next turn all three Gold-Eyes Golden Dragons are free to attack! This duel's over no matter what card you draw!"
Yoshi was now beginning to think and doubt herself.
"You can't possibly stand against my three Gold-Eyes Golden Dragons!" Cuba boasted. "It's all over Yoshi! You were never, ever a match for me!"
"Don't listen to her Yoshi!" Selena encouraged her.
"Cuba had three Gold-Eyes all along!" Yoshi realised in her mind. "She only wanted Diego, Alicia and Dora's Cards so that they couldn't be used against her!" Yoshi then realised there was only one way she could win, she had to draw the last piece of Exodia. "My last and only chance to win now is to assemble all the pieces of Exodia! But the odds are against me. I don't think I can do this." As Yoshi was about to draw her card, her deck started to move away. "Huh? Ah!" Yoshi gasped. "The deck! It senses my doubt!" "AH!" Yoshi cried, as she appeared silloettically by the Spirit of the Millennium Pendent. "Don't lose focus Yoshi!" The Spirit said. "Don't lose faith! Concentrate!" The two then remerged as Yoshi spots something. "Ah! Our friendship symbol!" She realised.
Then Yoshi sees the images of her friends hands with their friendship symbol over her deck. They all looked at her.
"Yoshi, we're right here with you." Minayo smiled.
"We'll always be there for you." Linta smiled.
"Yoshi, you've gotta believe in yourself." Reyn smiled.
"Show Cuba that a true champion plays with honour." Amia smiled.
"Yeah, you can do it, just kick Cuba's butt!" Selena smiled.
"They're right!" Yoshi realised out loud. "I've gotta believe in the cards just like my friends believe in me!"
"Draw your last and final pathetic card so I can end this duel Yoshi." Cuba said coldly.
"My Cousins' deck has no pathetic cards in it Cuba! But I'll tell you that it does contain…" Yoshi smirked. Then she showed the card she just drew, which was Exodia the Forbidden One. "The Unstoppable Exodia the Forbidden One!"
"AAHH!" Cuba screamed. "IMPOSSIBLE!"
"I've assembled all five special cards!" Yoshi said, as she placed them on the field. "All five pieces of the puzzle!"
A star appeared on the field, and out of it came Exodia the Forbidden One piece by piece. Cuba's Gold-Eyes Golden Dragons were no match for Exodia, and were smaller than him.
"E-E-E-EXODIA!" Cuba cried, like she'd seen a ghost. "UH!! It's not even possible! No one's ever been able to call him!"
Exodia then gathered up a ball of energy which was its special attack.
"EXODIA!" Yoshi called. "OBLITERATE!"
Exodia the Forbidden One then fired its attack and it destroyed all three of Cuba's Gold-Eyes Golden Dragons at once.
"OOHH! AAAAHHHH!!!!!!" Cuba screamed.
Because Exodia is the unstoppable monster all of Cuba's Life Points are now gone bringing her to 0.
On the scoreboard on Cuba's side it showed as Cuba's Life Points dropped to 0.
Yoshi: 0400
Cuba: 0000
"You did it!" Selena cheered. "Yoshi! You won!"
"This can't be! My sister never loses!" The girl that looked like Mokuba cried.
"You play only for power Cuba and that is why you lost. But if you put your heart in the game there's nothing you can't do." Yoshi said, as Exodia's hologram faded.
"But, but how!" Cuba cried. "How could I have lost to her?!"
"Cuba if you truly want to know…" Yoshi said as the Eye of Anubis appeared on her forehead and she raised her hand in front of Cuba. "OPEN YOUR MIND!"
Cuba then felt something inside her mind get crushed as she dropped to her knees. "Oh!"
"There Cuba." Yoshi said gently. "Maybe now you'll begin to see."
Meanwhile at the hospital in Yoshi's Cousins' room they opened their eyes. "Hmmm!" They said together.
"Diego, Alicia and Dora are awake!" Minayo said.
"Yoshi won." Diego, Alicia and Dora said, knowing their little cousin had won the duel.
Meanwhile in an unknown location a woman that had blonde hair and her left eye out of sight was sitting alone. Then one of her security guards came in.
"Mistress Cecilia ma'am. Cuba Sata, our undefeated, unbeatable and uncontested champion after being Seto Kaiba. She's been defeated, beaten and contested in a duel ma'am. By someone by the name of Yoshi Dinosaur."
Then as the camera shows the rest of her face we see what looks like another Millennium Item in her Left Eye. "Hmmm." She said as her eye flashed.
