The Gauntlet is Thrown - Yoshi vs Cecelia Pegasus
It was another usual day for Yoshi and her friends at School, with Selena duelling another classmate, although Yoshi had been getting requests to sign autographs and answer questions a few times.
"Our little Yoshi's really becoming popular." Minayo said.
"Yeah, ever since she beat Cuba she's been getting a lot of attention." Reyn said.
"And that's the last of your Life Points gone Selena." A classmate said, placing a Spell Card that makes your opponents' Life Points drop by 500.
"Oh I lost again." Selena sighed.
"Don't worry Selena, you're getting better." Amia reassured her.
"Yeah, you just need a good strategy that'll work." Linta said.
Okay since school was boring we'll just skip it. After School Yoshi and Selena went to the local Duel Monsters Duellist building. Where any Duellist wanted to talk to another in private.
"I don't understand why I keep losing Yoshi." Selena sighed. "Maybe Duel Monsters' not my strong point."
"Hmm, can I see your deck please Selena?" Yoshi asked.
"Sure." Selena said, handing her deck to Yoshi.
Yoshi looked through Selena's Deck and saw there were only Monster Cards.
"I see why you're always losing Selena." Yoshi said. "You're deck's full of Monster Cards, and only Monsters can't win a Duel."
"So Yoshi tell me, what makes a great deck?" Selena asked.
"You need to have the right balance of cards Selena." Yoshi explained. "The right balance of Monster, Spell and Trap Cards, then you'll be unbeatable."
"Thanks Yoshi." Selena smiled, feeling better. "Say you think your Cousins' have any good cards?"
"Let's go and see." Yoshi said.
After meeting up with Amia, Reyn, Linta and Minayo they went to the Gameshop where they saw a sign on the door saying, 'Sorry, but we're not open right now. We're in the middle of watching the Regional Championship Finals. Come back tomorrow please.'
"Oh I forgot the Regional Championship Finals are on!" Yoshi gasped. "I wouldn't miss them for the world."
"I guess my Deck can wait." Selena said. "I wanna watch the finals too."
They all went inside and found Diego, Alicia and Dora in the living room watching the finals on TV.
"This is interesting." Yoshi said. "Watching the Regional Championships is a good way to study the best."
"The Finals of the Regional Championships are about to come to an end!" The announcer on TV called. "The only question remains which of these two girls will be crowned the winner?"
In the stadium live a huge crowd cheered as the Duel of the Regional Championships had come to its finale.
"Here on this side we have Veina Underling the Insect Duelist!"
On one side of the arena was a girl wearing blue glasses in the shape of an Ant, she had pink hair in two ponytails, her eyes were green and her skin colour was orange, she wore a pink mini dress with different Insects on it, she also wore shoes that were coloured crimson red with Ants on them and pink stockings.
"And on this side we have Sammy Roarus the Dinosaur Duelist!"
On the other side of the arena was another girl who wore a black cap that said 'Dinosaurs Roar' on it coloured white, her eyes were sea blue and her hair was purple, she also wore a blue t-shirt with Marine Reptiles on it, a white sleeveless jacket with Pterosaurs on it, and purple trousers with Dinosaurs on it, her shoes were coloured auburn and had the words 'Triassic-Jurassic-Creatacous!' on them.
Right now both Duelists had their best cards out on the field. Veina had one card face down and her mighty Queen of the Bees which was a giant Bee with a black stinger, light lemon skin, black legs and antennae, blue stripes and a crown on her head. Sammy meanwhile had her ferocious Giant Southern Saurus which was a Dinosaur like Giganotosaurus with sky blue skin, savannah yellow stripes, longer claws and the letter G all over it.
"Sorry to do this my friend." Sammy called to Veina. "But this duel ends now. Giant Southern Saurus! Attack!"
Her monster roared and then charged for Veina's monster.
"No matter what, we'll always be friends Sammy." Veina said. "But by attacking Queen of the Bees I'm afraid you've activated my Trap Card Sammy! Go Hive of Stings!"
Suddenly a Trap Card flipped over revealing a picture of a hive and a swarm of Bees on it. Then suddenly a hive appeared in front of Queen of the Bees and then lots of Bees came out.
"Sorry Sammy, but when a Monster that has 1,500 Attack Points or more attacks Queen of the Bees, I can activate my Trap Card." Veina said. "This Trap allows Queen of the Bees to summon her Hive Home and her Bee Army from my Deck to the field."
The Bee Army started stinging Giant Southern Saurus madly and destroyed him.
"Oh man didn't see that coming!" Sammy gasped. "Or did I?"
"Huh?" Veina asked.
"I play the Spell Card, Extinction Recovery!" Sammy said, showing a Spell Card that had a picture of Dinosaurs being revived from Extinction. "It allows me to summon one Dinosaur from my Deck to the field when one of my Monsters' are destroyed by a Spell or Trap Card! And I choose Raptor King!"
Then a Raptor Dinosaur that had a crown and covered in golden feathers appeared on the field.
"Good move Sammy." Veina prayed. "But not good enough. Thanks to my Bee Army's ability, if a Monster you normal or special summon has less Attack Points than the Monster they destroyed this turn, the difference is subtracted from your Life Points."
Sammy's Life Points then dropped to zero.
"And the winner of the Regional Championships is Veina Underling!"
The crowd cheered as the holograms of the Monsters faded. Once the Duel was over Veina and Sammy went to the centre and shook hands.
"That was a great Duel Sammy." Veina said. "You had some unexpected moves there that caught me off guard."
"Thanks Veina." Sammy said. "You too and congratulations! But I hope to Duel you again."
"Well look at that! These best friends have shown that this competition means nothing to hurt their friendship! Let's give them both another round of applause!"
Yoshi, her Cousins and her friends had watched the whole thing on TV.
"Boy, that was a tight Duel." Amia said. "I'm amazed by the respect those two show for each other."
"Me too." Reyn said. "It's amazing that the best of friends can still remain friends after all that pressure."
"Oh Yoshi, a package came for you today." Diego said, as he got up to get it.
"A package?" Yoshi asked. "But I didn't order anything."
"We know but it came today with no details on it." Alicia said.
Diego brought the package over and Yoshi examined it.
"We thought it was just a joke someone's trying to play on you." Dora said. "But then we thought it would be better to bring it in, just in case it was important."
"Looks like the award ceremony's about to start." Linta said, looking at the TV.
At the stadium the announcer was making his final words, as Veina waited for her trophy.
"It's my honour to announce that we have a special guest to present our new champion with her trophy!" The Announcer called. "Here to present the Duel Monsters' Regional Championship Trophy and Title. The wife of the Creator of Duel Monsters and President of Industrial Illusions. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Duellists of all ages please welcome Miss Cecelia Pegasus!"
Then the floor in front of Veina opened up and out of it being raised on a platform appeared a beautiful girl with purple eyes, pale skin and long blonde hair that's curly on the top and then went straight all the way down her back and had some of her hair that covered her Left Eye, wearing a tealish blue dress with three light maroon coloured bows on the chest, the dress' shoulder sleeves were bell shaped and the long sleeves went down to her elbows, white frills on the chest area was a U-shape and had white drills sewed on it and bottom of the dress, under her dress she wore lavender heels with purple tulips on and pink stockings.
The crowd cheered as she was holding the trophy and then walked over to Veina and presented it to her.
"Congratulations young lady." Cecelia said, as she bent down and presented the trophy to her.
"Oh thank you Miss. Cecelia." Veina said, as she accepted the trophy. "It truly is an honour to meet you."
"And as the new Regional Champion I invite you to compete in a bold new tournament my husband and I are hosting at Duellist Kingdom!" Cecelia announced.
Veina was blushing that she was personally invited to compete in the new tournament by the wife of the creator of the Duel Monsters Card Game.
Later after the award and closing ceremonies were over, and all the fans went home, Cecelia was in her private limbo driving out of the stadium.
Inside her limbo one of her security girls was praising her.
"Mistress Cecelia. With the announcement that you made back there, your husband's going to be very proud of you." She praised her boss. "I'm sure thousands of Duellists will be flocking, schooling and herding to Duellist Kingdom to participate in your's and Master Pegasus' Tournament."
"Yes." Cecelia replied, with her eye closed. "And events such as this will hopefully draw out those who possess the Millennium Items my husband and I seek. Oh that reminds me."
"The package was delivered to the girl as you requested ma'am." Her security girl replied.
Cecelia opened her eye as she smiled. "Excellent."
Back at the game shop Yoshi's Cousins had remembered that Yoshi didn't open her package.
"Woah, in all the excitement of the championship finals you forgot to open your package Yoshi." Diego gasped.
"I wonder what it could be?" Yoshi wondered, as they all stared at the package.
"Well the only we'll know is to open it." Alicia said.
Yoshi opened the package and inside was a video tape, a glove and three stars.
"It appears to be some kind of glove." Linta said.
"And stars." Amia said.
"Maybe the video'll explain more." Rein said.
Yoshi picked up the video and looked at it.
"Pop it in the video player and let's check it out." Selena said.
"Alright." Yoshi said, as she inserted the tape.
The video started playing as the screen changed from being all blurry to normal, as Cecelia's face appeared.
"Greetings to you, little Yoshi." Cecelia greeted. "I am Cecelia Pegasus."
"Cecelia?" Selena asked.
"We just saw her on the TV." Minayo realised.
"The wife of the famous Maximillion Pegasus sends greetings to our Yoshi?" Dora asked.
"I've heard some terribly interesting things about you, Yoshi." Cecelia praised.
"Huh?" Yoshi asked.
"Your very impressive defeat of Cuba Sata intrigued me so much, I decided to investigate your amazing Duelling skills personally." Cecelia continued. "Right here, right now. We shall hold a special duel. We'll play with a strict time limit of 15 minutes, and when time's run out the Duellist with the highest Life Points will be the victor. Are you ready?"
"What?" Yoshi asked, being puzzled.
"What, she can't seriously expect you to fight a Duel against a video tape!" Selena cried.
"That's just crazy." Minayo added.
Cecelia chuckled. "No." Then suddenly her left eye was shown. "It's magic!"
Everyone gasped as suddenly everyone but Yoshi stopped moving.
"Huh?" Yoshi gasped. "Everything's growing really dark and cold and the others have stopped moving!" She then turned to Cecelia. "What have you done to them? And more importantly where have you taken us?!"
Cecelia chuckled again. "We're no longer in the world, you know." Cecelia calmly explained. "But don't worry, I'll return you all, after our game."
"Then It's Time to Duel!" Yoshi said, with determination in her voice.
Then the next thing Cecelia saw was Yoshi's pendant glowing brightly.
"DINOSAUR!" Yoshi yelled out, as the light engulfed her. Once the light had died down Yoshi had gone through a transformation. Well not like changing forms, she just grew several inches and her hair became much longer and smoother. She then looked at Cecelia with a look of determination.
"Start the clock and make your move Cecelia!" Yoshi said.
"Certainly." Cecelia said. "Let's begin."
The clock started ticking down from 15 minutes and both players' Life Points were set.
Yoshi: 2,000
Cecelia: 2,000
"Are you nervous, Yoshi Girl?" Cecelia asked, as she set a card face down. "You should be. You have never faced a Duellist like me before."
"You may be good." Yoshi said, as she drew her card.
"I assure you I am." Cecelia said.
"But I will beat you, to save my friends." Yoshi said, as she brought her card to her face.
"You won't save anyone with that Dragon Card." Cecelia said, as her left eye flashed.
"How did you-?" Yoshi asked, looking at her card. It was her Koumori Dragon, and card that had ATK: 1,500 and DEF: 1,200.
"I told you, you've never faced a Duellist like me before." Cecelia said. "I know every move you'll make before you even make it."
Yoshi looked confused as to how she was going to defeat Cecelia now.
"Knowing every move you'll make gives me the stink advantage, wouldn't you say?" Cecelia asked.
"What?" Yoshi asked.
"For example, I can anticipate your next move and counter it with this." Cecelia said, showing the card she placed face down. "My Dragon Capture Jar."
Then suddenly the Trap Card activated and the jar on the picture of the card appeared on the field in a flash of light. Yoshi had to shield her eyes from the intense light.
"UH!" Yoshi cried.
"My Dragon Capture Jar will drive your Koumori Dragon from your card and imprison it." Cecelia said.
Then Yoshi's Koumori Dragon appeared from its card and then got sucked into the jar, like water going down a drain.
"Trapped, never to be played against me." Cecelia said.
"This is crazy!" Yoshi thought to herself. "First she reads my mind, then she brings my Koumori Dragon from its card to life, and then she traps it in that Trap Card."
"This dark dimension we're in is known as the Shadow Realm." Cecelia explained calmly. "A mystical place where incredible monsters can be summoned." Cecelia paused as she drew her next card. "And the impossible becomes quite possible."
"But what you're telling me can't be true!" Yoshi cried.
"Tell me Yoshi, do you believe there is magic in these cards?" Cecelia asked.
"Don't you know?" Yoshi asked, as she picked a card from her hand. "Your husband invented this game."
"What if I told you he didn't?" Cecelia asked.
"Huh?" Yoshi asked.
"You see in Ancient Times the Egyptians called this the Shadow Game." Cecelia said. "Powerful pharaohs and priestesses would hold mystical Duels in other dimensions, just as we're doing now. But not with cards."
Yoshi looked at her cards with curiosity and then listened as Cecelia continued.
"They battled with real Monsters and real magic." Cecelia explained, as she explained scenes of Monsters were shown either blasting their powers or attacking in their own special ways. "Magical forces so powerful the Egyptians lost control of them and nearly destroyed the entire world."
"It's a good story, Cecelia!" Yoshi said at last. "But these Monsters can't be real!"
"Oh are you sure about that, Yoshi Girl?" Cecelia asked. "Because I seem to recall hearing something about you and your friends talking about the Shadow Games in the library?"
Then Yoshi gasped as she remembered the day after she received the Millennium Pendant.
"Okay Amia we're here." Yoshi said. "So what did you want to show us?"
"It's this book I was reading the other day." Amia said, showing them a book that had Egyptian Hieroglyphics on it as well as some of the Millennium Items. "It's called the Legend of the Shadow Games."
"The Legend of the Shadow Games?" Reyn asked.
"What's a Shadow Game?" Linta and Minayo asked.
"Well, according to this book 5,000 years ago Egyptian Kings played a very powerful and dangerous game." Amia said, showing the pictures in the book. "These Shadow Games were powerful and they eventually erupted into a war that threatened to destroy the entire world."
"I don't think I like this story that much." Selina whimpered.
"It would've destroyed the world Selina." Amia continued. "Until a brave and powerful Pharaoh and Priestess locked the magic away in the Millennium Items." Amia showed the picture with the Pharaoh and the Priestess locking the magie away. Then Yoshi noticed something on the Priestess' neck.
"Hey, that looks like my pendant." Yoshi said, pointing to the priestess' pendant.
"That's because it is the same pendant." Amia explained. "Yoshi I think the pendant you're now wearing is one of these Millennium Items, and if my hypothesis is right I think the spirit of the brave priestess is inside the Millennium Pendant."
Then Yoshi started piecing something together.
"Wait a minute, that book about the Sadow Games we saw in the library." Yoshi realised in her mind. "They speak of the same powers in that book. Could Cecelia be telling the truth after all?"
"Now where were we?" Cecelia asked. "Oh yes I now summon my Dragon Charmer!" Then a human who had a flute in her hands, and wore dark beige robes and shoes appeared and started playing her flute. The Dragon Charmer had an ATK: 400 and a DEF: 1,900. "And her Flute of Resurrection allows me to free your Koumori Dragon and places him under my control." Yoshi's Dragon appeared on Cecelia's side of the field.
"I've gotta counterattack!" Yoshi said. "Go Silver Fang!" Then a Wolf-like Monster appeared on the field covered in silver fur. Silver Fang had an ATK: 1,200 and a DEF: 800.
Silver Fang growled at Koumori Dragon as Koumori Dragon released a blast of fire from its mouth straight at Silver Fang.
"UH!" Yoshi cried, as she shielded her eyes. "The heat!" Yoshi looked once the flames had died down and saw her Silver Fang had been destroyed. "Uh!"
Because Silver Fang was weaker than Koumori Dragon, Yoshi lost 500 Life Points. Her Life Point bar dropped.
Yoshi: 1,500
Cecelia: 2,000
"Hah!" Cecelia smirked. "As you see Yoshi, these Monsters are very real indeed." Then she chuckled again. "And also quite dangerous too." Then she laughed again as Yoshi had a game face on. "Hmm, ah Yoshi Girl. You really are quite entertaining. The way you scowl and sneer, so defiant and yet helpless, and so completely ignorant about the power of your Millennium Pendant."
"What?" Yoshi asked.
"5,000 years ago a powerful Pharaoh and Priestess locked the magic of the Shadow Games away." Cecelia explained.
"What's this have to do with me?" Yoshi asked.
"The Pharaoh and the Priestess captured these vast magical energies in 14 mystical Millennium Items." Cecelia continued.
"14 items?" Yoshi asked. "You're saying that-" Yoshi said slowly and then pieced it all together. "My Pendant's one of them?"
"Yes and there are mystical energies locked within it." Cecelia explained. "Magic that could change your life forever if you only knew how to unleash it."
"But why are you telling me this?" Yoshi questioned.
"Why?" Cecelia rhetorically asked. "Simply because my husband and I need you to know." Then she placed a card face down on the field. "But perhaps I've said too much and since the clock's still ticking I propose we resume play of our little Duel."
"She's right." Yoshi thought to herself. "Time's running out and I still haven't figured out whether she can really read my mind or if it's some kind of trick."
Then Cecelia raised her hair hiding her left eye and showed a golden eye and looked at Yoshi's Card, in her eye was an image of a Skeleton. Yoshi looked at her hand. It contained Dragon Axe, Rat Warrior, A Spell Card called Darkness Increase, Zombie Knight and Book of Secret Arts. Looking at them she was about to pick her Zombie Knight.
"Oh I've just gotta try something." Yoshi thought, as she picked her card. "Maybe my Zombie Knight." Yoshi picked up her card and was about to play it when she heard Cecelia chuckle. "Wait a minute! She definitely knows what I'm about to play but how?" Yoshi then observed Cecelia's left eye. "It's gotta do something with that strange looking eye of hers." Yoshi then figured it out. "That's it isn't it? That strange eye must somehow allow for Cecelia to see the cards I'm holding in my hand. So no matter which card I play, she's already one step ahead of me." Then Yoshi had an idea. "But that gives me an idea."
"Hurry up now, Yoshi Girl." Cecelia said. "Time's running out, for you and your friends."
"Cecelia's expecting for me to play one of the cards in my hand. But what if I play a couple of cards even I haven't seen yet?" Yoshi thought, as she then drew two cards from her deck. "What happens if I draw a couple of new cards straight from my deck without even looking at them?" Yoshi then placed the two cards she just drew and placed them face down on the field.
"I already know the Zombie Knight and Darkness Increase." Cecelia said. "And I've already prepared to counter them with a Trap Card that makes even Zombies lie down and play dead."
Yoshi then smirked as she smiled. "Not this time." Yoshi said. "I've figured out your little game Cecelia. You may be able to see the cards in my hand, but you can't see the cards I pull from my deck."
"Hmm?" Cecelia asked.
"My next cards are-" Yoshi said as she turned the cards face up. "The Dark Magician Girl and the Wander Wand of Magic!"
Cecelia wasn't phased. "Ohh the big scary Dark Magician Girl equipped with the Wander Wand of Magic."
"Mock me all you want Cecelia." Yoshi said. "But my Magician Girl will now destroy that Dragon."
Cecelia remained calm. "Go right ahead if you think it'll help."
"It'll do more than help Cecelia." Yoshi said. "It'll bring you closer to defeat and bring me closer to saving my friends."
"If it can do all that, then by all means play it." Cecelia said.
"DARK MAGICIAN GIRL!" Yoshi cried, as the Dark Magician Girl came out of her card as her staff glowed as the Wander Wand of Magic appeared in her hand. "DARK BURNING ATTACK!"
"HYAH!" Dark Magician Girl yelled, firing her magic blast at Koumori Dragon and destroyed him.
"AH!" Cecelia cried, as she shielded her eyes, as Koumori Dragon roared in pain before being destroyed. Cecelia lost 800 Life Points.
Yoshi: 1,500
Cecelia: 1,200
Cecelia laughed. "Nicely played. But by using your Dark Magician Girl, you've let me manipulate you once again."
"Huh?" Yoshi asked.
"By playing that one card you've just ensured my victory." Cecelia said.
"No." Yoshi said.
"We shall see, Yoshi." Cecelia said, and she drew her next card. "Oh, a very rare card. This is the fearsome Faceless Mage!" She then showed a card that had a monster with a faceless face and one head on her two shoulders.
"I've never seen that card before." Yoshi said. "But my Dark Magician Girl's one of the strongest SpellCasters in the game."
"But how will she fare once I combined my Faceless Mage with the equally rare Eye of Illusion?" Cecelia asked, as her Faceless Mage became equipped with a Spell Card, as it appeared on the field.
"Dark Magician Girl!" Yoshi called out to her monster. "DARK BURNING ATTACK!"
"HYAH!" Dark Magician Girl yelled, firing her magic blast at the Faceless Mage.
But the Faceless Mage raised its hands and placed an illusion spell on the Dark Magician Girl without Yoshi knowing.
"UH!" Yoshi cried, as she shielded her eyes. "DARK MAGICIAN GIRL!"
As the smoke cleared both monsters remained standing.
"My attack had no effect at all!" Yoshi thought.
Cecelia chuckled to herself.
"Her Faceless Mage should've been destroyed." Yoshi cried. "But it's still standing and I'm running out of time."
Yoshi looked at the timer and saw there was only 5 minutes left on the clock.
"I'm up by 300 Life Points, but only because Cecelia's toying with me." Yoshi thought, as their Life Point bars showed their scores. "I've gotta find a way to beat her at her own Shadow Game." Yoshi continued to think. "Cecelia knows all kinds of tricks, but I gotta find a way to defeat her." Yoshi got ready to draw her next card from her deck. "I just have to trust in my Cousins' Deck and their cards." Yoshi picked up her next card and then played it on the field.
"I'll attack your combo with the Celtic Guardian Knight!" Yoshi cried as an Elf-like Creature appeared in armour like a knight. It had an ATK: 1,400 and a DEF: 1,000 "This mighty warrior will cut your Faceless Mage down to size!"
"True, very true." Cecelia said. "Your Celtic Guardian Knight's mighty, but you have once again underestimated the incredible power of my Eye of Illusion!"
"NO!" Yoshi cried.
"DARK BURNING ATTACK!" Cecelia called.
Suddenly the attack scored a direct hit on Yoshi's Celtic Guardian Knight as it moaned in pain before being destroyed. Yoshi once again shielded her eyes from the light. Yoshi lost 1,100 Life Points.
Cecelia: 1,200
Yoshi: 400
"But that's impossible!" Yoshi cried. "The Faceless Mage doesn't have a Dark Burning Attack!" Then Yoshi realised what happened. "Oh no!"
There standing on Cecelia's side of the field was her Dark Magician Girl with an eye on her chest.
"It was my own Dark Magician Girl that attacked me!" Yoshi realised. "Cecelia's controlling her with the Eye of Illusion! But if she's using its magic to control my Magician Girl, what's protecting her Mage?"
"Well Yoshi." Cecelia said, as she placed a card face down. "Our time together is nearly up, and as I have more Life Points than you, it appears I'm the victor." She then clapped her hands to congratulate herself.
The timer showed only 10 seconds left on the clock.
"Time's not up just yet Cecelia!" Yoshi said. "And you've left your Faceless Mage vulnerable to a physical assault!" Yoshi then showed her card, which was her Summoned Skull.
"UH!" Cecelia grunted.
"SUMMONED SKULL!" Yoshi cried, as she placed her card down. "ATTACK!"
The timer went down from three seconds to two seconds. The mighty Creature appeared on the field in a flash of lightning. It lunged for the Faceless Mage, but before it could attack the timer went down to zero and it went off as the monsters disappeared.
"Hoh!" Yoshi gasped.
Cecelia just closed her eyes. "Hmm, well we've run out of time." Cecelia said. "But how close was that? If you had been able to complete that attack I would've lost." Cecelia had 1,200 Life Points more than Yoshi's 400 Life Points. "But I didn't, did I? I have taken the measure of your talents this day Yoshi Dinosaur, and when we next Duel we shall play for far higher stakes."
"I'm done with your games." Yoshi said.
Cecelia clicked her tongue and waved her middle index finger back and forth three times. "You presume I'm giving you a choice in the matter?" Cecelia asked, as she showed her left eye, and Yoshi gasped. "But I'm not. For I too possess one of the 14 Millennium Items. The all powerful Millennium Left Eye!"
"A Millennium Left Eye?" Yoshi asked in shock.
"That's right Yoshi Girl!" Cecelia said. "And now I'll show you the true extent of its magic!"
Then suddenly Cecelia's Millennium Left Eye glowed brightly, as its magic came out of the screen and into the room. Yoshi shielded her eyes as the beam then hit Diego, Alicia and Dora.
"You see I have found that given the proper incentive." Cecelia continued, as suddenly Diego, Alicia and Dora found their souls being pulled out of their bodies. "Anyone can be made to play my game!" Then all three of their souls were pulled into the TV screen.
Once the blinding light had stopped, Yoshi opened her eyes and looked at the screen. "Huh?"
The screen was blank but it wasn't for long, as suddenly Diego, Alicia and Dora appeared on the screen with their hands pressed against it.
"YOSHI!" They cried.
Then the Spirit of the millennium Pendant faded as Yoshi was now back. She looked at the screen and realised her Cousins were there.
"Huh?" Yoshi gasped, and rushed to the screen. "DIEGO! ALICIA! DORA!"
"Yes we will Duel again Yoshi." Cecelia said, as the darkness in the room faded and her friends could move again. "How else will you ever reclaim your Cousins' Souls?" Diego, Alicia and Dora's bodies then fell lifeless on the floor as Selena and the other girls could now move. "If you wish to rescue them then you must attend mine and my husband's tournament!"
"DIEGO! ALICIA! DORA!" Yoshi cried in agony at the blurry screen. "DIEGO! ALICIA! DORA! DIEGO! ALICIA! DORA!"
Meanwhile in a game shop that's far away in Domino City the same thing was happening to a boy about Yoshi's age with his Grandpa.
"Grandpa! Grandpa! GRANDPA!"

Minayo: Don't worry Yoshi, we'll rescue your Cousins.
Selena: I have to do something to save my brothers.
Veina: It's Yoshi Dinosaur! The one who defeated Cuba Sata!
Joey: Yugi did you see what she was wearing around her neck?
Yugi: Yeah, Joey. Her pendant looks alot like my Millennium Puzzle.
(Someone throws another person's cards overboard)
Yugi: THOSE WERE THE EXODIA CARDS MY GRANDPA GAVE ME!
Yoshi: HANG ON KID! I'LL GET THEM BACK! (Jumps into the sea)
Yugi: NO DON'T! (Jumps in after her)
Joey: YUGI!
Yoshi: I've got all the pieces!
(Selena and her friends help, Yugi's friends pull them up)
Yoshi: I believe all 5 of these cards belong to you. (Hands them all back.)
Yugi: You got them all back! Thank you! Oh I'm Yugi, Yugi Moto by the way.
Yoshi: Nice to meet you, I'm Yoshi, Yoshi Dinosaur.

Why have I brought Cecelia back from the dead? Because upon seeing the Anime I felt very sorry for Pegasus, he had only just married the love of his life and then she died. Which is why in this alternate universe both Pegasus and Cecelia will be alive.
