Separation

Christopher Perry Halliwell was extremely close to his father, Leo. A closeness that Leo strived for since being told by Chris' future self that he was never around. Unfortunately for his mom, Piper, she was going to see just how far Chris' attachment went.

The weekend had started out normal enough with Chris and Wyatt going to bed on Friday after being tucked in by their parents. Come Saturday morning, however, Leo left to chaperone a school trip leaving Piper alone with the boys. "Morning Peanut are you hungry?" She asked when Chris joined Wyatt in the kitchen.

"Where's Daddy?" he asked as Piper helped him into his seat.

"He went on a trip with the kids from school. He'll be back tomorrow night."

"I want Daddy!" Chris quietly cried.

"Honey he'll be back tomorrow." Piper tried to reason.

"But I want him."

"Do you want Mommy to hold you?" Piper asked.

"No, I want Daddy!" Chris screamed before orbing upstairs. Not knowing what to do Piper called for reinforcements.

"Piper Sweetie what's wrong?" Phoebe asked once she and Paige arrived at the manor.

"Can you not hear him?" Piper asked crying.

"Why is he screaming like that?" Paige asked noticing Chris' screams.

"He wants Leo."

"Well where is Leo?"

"On a class trip. They come back tomorrow."

"And he's been screaming since Leo left?"

"No Leo left while they were asleep. When Chris woke up and I told him he wasn't here and he went crazy. I don't understand he's never done this before."

"Is this the first time Leo's been away from them?"

"In the last couple years yeah. The last time was when he was frozen."

"That's what it is then. Last time Leo was gone he was gone for months. Once he sees Daddy come home he should be fine."

"Are you sure?"

"I used to see this a lot as a social worker. He'll be fine he's just going through some separation anxiety."

"But what do I do? Nothing brings him comfort."

"I hate to say it but Leo's probably the only one that can bring him comfort." Paige replied unhelpfully.

True to Paige's words nothing his mom, aunts or uncles did calmed Chris down and he was still going strong come Sunday night. "Come on Peanut please eat." Piper all but begged.

"Daddy." Chris cried pushing the spoon Piper was trying to get in his mouth away.

"You have to eat Chris." Phoebe tried.

"Do you want to sit with me?" Paige asked at a loss.

"Daddy!" Chris cried again.

"Chris, Buddy, what's wrong?" a voice called getting the family's attention.

"Leo thank God." Piper greeted as Leo came over to give her a kiss. "He's been screaming for you since he got up yesterday."

"Is he sick?" Leo asked concerned taking Chris in his arms.

"Daddy!" Chris replied content snuggling close to Leo.

"That's the quietest he's been all weekend."

"Have you been giving everyone a hard time?" Leo asked Chris.

"I'm sorry."

"Can you tell your mommy and aunts and uncles sorry for screaming?" Chris jumped off of Leo's lap and hugged each of his aunts and uncles before giving Piper a big hug.

"Sorry Momma."

"There's my sweet boy." Piper said holding Chris close. Within minutes Chris was sound asleep.
