We were in the middle of a battle against monsters when I heard Will scream for help. I ran over to him and he was bleeding everywhere "You're a doctor heal yourself or something" I said rushing my words as I slammed my sword into a monster coming towards us and it disappeared in a cloud of gold dust. I looked at Will as the monsters were all gone now. "Heal yourself," I said trying to hold back my tears. His wounds were worse than I thought.
"I can't heal myself-" he started but never finished he went silent. He's not gone I told myself even though his wounds were pretty bad. I stood there for a good hour or so before Percy noticed I wasn't at the campfire tonight. "Hey, Nico you ok?" He asked me and looked at the body of Will on the ground. I broke down into tears as Percy bent down to check for a pulse. "Nothing," he said as he shook his head and tried to get me to walk back to camp. But I stayed next to Will next to the body of the boy who used to be mine

It's been a week since he has been gone. I haven't left my cabin for most of it. Percy has been checking on me some it's been a few days. I haven't eaten or slept for about 5 days. I've sunk into a depression. I heard a knock on my door which got me from my thoughts. "Nico, it's Percy I laid some food outside your door if you want it. You don't have to eat it right now if you don't want to. Just remember the proper funeral for Will is in a couple of hours"
"Ok, Percy" I went to my closet and grabbed a black oversized hoodie and black sweatpants. I wasn't in the mood to even get ready. I looked at the promise ring Will gave me on the dresser as I walked out the door
"We are here to remember the life of William Solace," the guy said as I was choking back my tears " A friend, a boyfriend a son, and a hero" I grabbed my shirt and walked up to the podium. "Will Solace was a light in many lives including mine He had healed a lot of but couldn't save himself "

It's been a week since the funeral and I've eaten a meal every other day so 4 meals this week. I've went out of my cabin twice this week. Better than the week before. Percy had stopped checking in on me now and just patted me on the back and gave me words of encouragement. Hazel was coming to camp today. I sighed and put on my camp hoodie over another black hoodie. A few hours later there was a knock on the door. It was Hazel. "Hey Nico," she said opening the door and holding black flowers. "I'm sorry about Will but remember you always have us" I then burst into tears letting all my emotions out once again
