"Katie's perspective"

My Aunt Gemma and I were shopping at the mall on Wednesday, and people were getting pretty confused as to why she was walking with us.

They see her as a freak, a creep, but she's my friend and... those haters can just jump off a cliff.

"Wednesday's perspective."

Katie's aunt began talking to her co-workers and told us it was okay for us to explore for a bit; she handed us ten dollars and we said thank you before walking off.

Katie and I went to the indoor café, where we sat down and each received two glasses of tea.

We both said thank you and I started to read my book as Katie looked at the TV.

"Katie's perspective"

I laughed quietly until three guys dressed as pilgrims walked up to us and approached us. Startled, they asked, "Hey, why are you sitting in our booth?"

Wednesday looked up and said…I don't see your names on it and one guy said "Oh yeah, you're that freak from the Addams Family."

Wednesday stood up in his face. I stayed sitting, knowing I couldn't fight. I had learned a thing or two, but not enough to stop her from saying it again, this time to my face. Unless you're too much of a baby boy.

"Wednesday's perspective."

The boy bucked into my face and I didn't become startled not one bit. He said, "So tell me... freak. Have you ever been with a normie?" I responded, "That depends, I've never found one who could handle me."

Then the cafe cashier came over and said, "Hey y'all need to leave." One guy said, "Stay out of this," and I said, "Boo!" in his face. The guy behind me grabbed my shoulder, so I pulled his arm, sending him running towards me with a boom!

"Katie's perspective"

I warned her to be careful, and on Wednesday she turned around, dodged a right hook from the guy, and then delivered a roundhouse kick to knock him to the floor.

The three guys were escorted out by their parents, and I could tell they were in a world of trouble.

"At Gemma's house."

"Gemma's perspective"

I heard about the fight with those three guys on Wednesday. I looked at Katie, who put her head down in shame, as I began to walk towards Wednesday.

I said to her, "I heard you got into a fight with some guys at the indoor cafe." She looked up from her book before responding, "They started it, and I defended myself and Katie."

"Katie's perspective"

I defend Aunt Gemma; she's telling the truth. I was there, so there's no point in blaming Wednesday for that jerk's mistakes.

Wednesday looked at me and smiled, but then Gemma said, "Katie, you're still responsible for your actions too. You're both in trouble." Wednesday tried to cut her off by saying, "Ma'am, I know, I was right and wrong. But please don't punish Katie...for my mistake."

Before Gemma could say anything more, she received a call from her boss, asking her to bring Katie and Wednesday to test her newly-created invention!

"Within the testing room."

"Katie's perspective"

Aunt Gemma told me to put my fingers on the AI's hand, and I said, "Hey Megan, I'm Katie." She awakened, which scared the hell out of me, causing me to stagger back a little.

The AI said, "It's nice to meet you, Katie. I'm Megan."

"Wednesday's perspective"

I didn't trust Megan as far as I could probably kick her, but this AI looks like it can... what's the word? Oh yeah, stretch.

I watched as Katie and Megan began to talk and play together. I smiled, something I rarely did when I was happy, but I couldn't help but be happy because now Katie and I had a new friend...
