Kirby AU: Unheard Voice(PG-13)
Chapter 1: A Normal Day
Somewhere in Dreamland, a strange Kaabii was just starting his day. He cracked open his eyes to be greeted by the sight of the sun in the window, flash banging him in the process. With a quiet moan, he had gotten himself out of bed. He pushed himself off the bed and onto the floor. He didn't really want to get out of his bed since he just wanted to play music all day and sleep.
Plus, William didn't really want to deal with the kids at the orphanage since they always thought of him as 'weird' and a 'demon'. William just dreaded having to deal with those kids every single day. The helpers would do little to nothing to help him with his problems, while a few did actually care for him. William rubbed his eyes as he adjusted to the room and to the lighting outside. William didn't feel so well today, and he looked in the mirror, looking at himself.
He looked like total crap. No way anyone would want to adopt a dirtball like him looking like that.
He looked unkempt and dirty. Very dirty. He sniffed himself, noticing he smelled, too. He didn't remember the last time he took a nice hot shower. He was screwing around with his friend Snappy all day, causing trouble for the town folk.
William bit his lip with his fang. He smelled awful. He wondered if he smelt like this yesterday, as well. He went to his private bathroom, which was connected to his room. He got a towel and placed it on the hanger. He then turned the water on and got into the shower and turned the hot water on.
The water fell onto his body like how he would stand outside when it rains and let the rain hit him because it felt so 'refreshing'. While taking a shower he would do the usual stuff like clean his face, wings, feet and so on. What was weird is that he would doze off into nothingness for a long time, pissing off the orphanage workers since he would drive up the hot water bill a lot.
After a while, he got out of the shower and dried himself off, which made him feel alot better. He made it to his room door and took a deep breath, anticipating all the bullying that would come his way, as well as other minor stuff on the side.
He opened the door, which led to a hallway, which was quiet and empty. It seemed like he was one of the first people to wake up as usual in the morning. He made his way to the main dining area for when the food would be given out to the hungry kids.
He was one of the last people to arrive at the cafeteria, and he didn't expect that most of the kids were already there. He realized that he must've been sleeping in, meaning he would miss all of the good food.
Most of the kids got pancakes and waffles already. William got into the line and got some dirty looks while at it. He didn't like it when people would stare at all in disgust as if they could let such a freak to be in a place like this. Everyone didn't like him, save one person who actually cared for him and was a friend.
After a while, William was lucky enough to get Waffles, which were his favorite. He got his tray and went to the end of a table so no one could bother him while eating. Except, one person did bother him.
He was ⅔ done eating his waffles with his milk, as well. "WASSUP!" And there goes the peace and quiet William loved.
It was no other then Snappy Dee, a cocky Waddle Dee who wore a red/ blue rimmed baseball snapback. He didn't have a lot of friends due to him making most of them cry and his dark sense of humor. He was one of the few people who treated William like an actual person and treated him with care and respect.
Snappy sat next to William while eating a pack of gummy worms. Unlike William, Snappy wasn't an orphan and had parents that cared about him. Snappy just snuck into here from time to time cause he wanted free food and, to him, it was better than whatever his mom cooks.
"So what are you going to do today?" Snappy said while looking into Wiliam's soul as if he was going to get a response from him. William didn't respond as per usual. Snappy actually thought about it for a few seconds and he has never heard William talk ever! Like to the point where the only sound he has heard Wiliam makes is whenever he moans, groans, or very rarely yawns from time to time.
William knew he probably was never going to talk since his voice box isn't developed due to him being mute. "Hey, you wanna go outside and play some hide and seek?" Snappy asked. Well, he wasn't really asking; it was more like a "do it or else" tone of voice.
William simply nodded to Snappy's request to say yes.
"Great, now let's go and do something FUN!" Snappy had the sparkle in his eyes that shows that he wanted to do something fun and was bored out of his mind.
The sun was high in the sky as it was looking down onto the creatures that populated Dreamland.
They were in the Center in Waddle Dee Town filled with many Waddle Dees and Doos minding their own business, going about their day without a care in the world!
They were both in the center plaza where a big tree was located with a couple Waddle Dees sitting under it taking in the shade from the late Spring Sun.
Snappy Dee turned around to look at William, who had been hiding behind him the entire time so he wouldn't be bullied or made fun of due to his appearance.
"Wanna play hide n' go Seek" Snappy Dee asked William, who simply nodded, since he knew Snappy had some anger issues when it comes to saying no.
Snappy Dee jumps in excitement knowing that he was the best at this game.
"Ok! Counting starts now! Counting to 100!" Snappy Dee starts counting to 100.
William quickly runs to a random place not too far from where Snappy was standing. William went into an alleyway and hid behind a trash can so he could make a run for it if Snappy Dee got close to his location.
Time passed slowly but surely, and still, nothing to be heard from Snappy. William started to get impatient and decided to move out of his hiding spot to see what was taking so long for Snappy Dee to find him.
-SLAM-
William got pushed onto the ground by someone behind him. Dirt and grime got onto his skin, making him dirty. "AHAHAHAHA BOZO!" William turned to see who pushed him and as soon as he did he got kicked in the face, which caused him to fall onto his back. William let out a small moan due to him falling right on top of his wings from the kick.
It was none other than Prince Fluff (Non yarn version). "It's the bat freak! What the hell are you going to do?" Prince Fluff was always an ass to William, and whenever he got the choice to, he would always bully William till he cried, then leave when Snappy would show up and chase him away.
Prince Fluff then spat in William's face. William couldn't do anything about it since Prince Fluff was an entire foot taller than William who was only 1'5 ft tall.
"CRY YOU LITTLE PUS-"
-SNAP-
Prince Fluff then looked up from William and had sheer horror plastered onto his face. He then turned and ran away as fast as he could. He ran till he was out of the sight of William, who was confused at what just happened.
William then turned around and right there was Meta Knight, who had been studying William and had his sword out. William then quickly backed away from Meta Knight, which led to him tripping on a brick.
Meta Knight was at least twice the size of William, who had a terrified look on his face.
At this point, Meta Knight started to approach William. He placed his sword on the ground and started to come even closer to William, to the point where he was 5 inches away from William.
Meta Knight then did something unexpected. He started rubbing William's head with his gloved hand. William actually enjoyed the warm hand brushing against his head, calming him down alot.
Meta Knight then got something out from his cape. Grabbing a rag from it, he then started wiping William's blood away. William expected something worse but, it seemed like Meta knight cared about him alot. Something in Meta Knight's golden eyes told William that this Kaabii actually cared about him. Meta Knight then kneels down to William's level and then picks him up. Meta starts cradling him in his super gloves. William gives Meta Knight a soft smile. Meta Knight's emotion remains unchanged though.
"Hold on, young one. Let me take you home." And then Meta Knight started to fly into the sky.
William's eyes started to grow heavy, and then he slowly drifted to sleep.
