Chapter 1
Demongo had been given the job of a lifetime. He had been hired by Aku to go and kill Samurai Jack. In return, Demongo would be given Jack's essence. It seemed like such an easy task at first, until Jack had destroyed every bit of essence in him. Instead of granting him mercy when he failed his mission, however, Aku vanquished him. Demongo was shamed and damned for all of eternity. That was, until one day... Demongo was walking through a forest, just wanting to feel the loneliness and weakness that he had always felt. As he was walking, however, he heard something. The sound was a flute, and it sounded beautiful. Demongo could have almost said that it was mesmerizing. He followed the sound, trying to find the source of this music. The music itself had some sort of essence to it, and Demongo wanted it for himself. He stopped walking and began running towards the sound. Eventually, he stopped behind a bush and peeked over it. There was someone playing the flute. A hat covered their face, and they wore a purple trench coat with a orange scarf and red, high-heeled boots.
"Yes," Demongo said under his breath "All I need is just a bit of essence to get myself back on my own feet..." Demongo then slipped down behind the bush and found a rock. It was a decently sized rock, and Demongo thought that he could kill the flute-player and take their essence. He crept up from the bush and slowly made his way towards them. Demongo froze when he heard his own foot crush a twig. The flute-player stopped, and Demongo knew that he was in trouble. He was too weak to afford getting hurt anymore, so he ran off behind the bush again. He stared from a little clearing in the bush as the flute-player turned around. Demongo then noticed something that made him lose any hope of receiving essence from the flute-player. The flute-player was a robot, and all robots were known to have no essence.
"Shit.." Demongo said quietly, realizing this. He was about to get himself killed for nothing. Then, he heard something that made him freeze up.
"Come out from that bush Babe," The robot said "I know that you're back there." Demongo was unsure of what to do, not knowing if he should stay quiet or show himself. He had to make the decision...
Chapter 2
Demongo had to make a decision. He either would have to show himself to the robot or he would have stay hidden until the robot went away. There was a long, bitter moment of silence. The only noise that was able to be heard was the breeze against the trees and the momentary chirp of distant birds. Demongo let out a quiet sigh, his fate already being sealed for him. The robot was obviously going to kill him. Demongo would have been able to stand a chance if he had any source of essence, but he didn't. Demongo, shaking, slowly started to stand up. When he stood up to his full height, Demongo looked up at the robot. The robot was about 7'6, two feet taller than Demongo himself. The silence prolonged as the two of them stared at each other. Fear and acceptance of his own fate had settled inside of Demongo as he stared at the bright blue eyes of the robot in front of him. Then, the robot finally spoke.
"Uh, are you okay Babe? You aren't looking so hot." The robot asked. Demongo looked up at him, confusion replacing all of his feelings of fears.
"W-What?" Demongo asked. The robot then gave a look of shock.
"Oh my gosh Babe! You're sick!" The robot then took off his scarf and his trench coat and wrapped it around Demongo. Demongo was blushing and extremely confused.
"W-Who are you?" Demongo asked. The robot gave a look of confidence.
"I'm Scaramouche the Merciless Babe," He said "Aku's Number one assassin in the effort to kill Samurai Jack!"
"If you are the merciless," Demongo asked "Then why did you save me?"
"Look Babe, it's metaphorical." Scaramouche said. Demongo started to become upset and confused. In the deepest pits of his cold body, Demongo actually wished that the robot would have killed him. After all, Demongo was damned for eternity.
"Do you even have any idea who I am?" Demongo asked, his body trembling.
"Sorry Babe, but I don't have a clue." Scaramouche said, not catching onto Demongo's behavior. Demongo was about to have an outburst, but he was able to contain himself.
"I worked for Aku..." Demongo said.
"No way! You worked for Aku?!" Scaramouche asked. Demongo slightly blushed at the robot's enthusiasm towards him.
"Wait," Scaramouche said "I actually am kind of curious on who you are Babe."
Demongo let out a sigh.
"Get me something to kill and I'll show you." Demongo said, ready to show Scaramouche who he really was...
Chapter 3
Night was approaching in the forest. For a forest, surprisingly, it was hard to find something to kill. Scaramouche and Demongo had been walking for awhile, and nothing had shown up to them. Scaramouche was armed with his flute and a sword, and Demongo was armed with a rock.
"So why do you need to kill something to tell me who you are Babe?" Scaramouche asked.
"You'll see!" Demongo hissed. Scaramouche rolled his eyes as the two of them continued walking. Eventually, the two of them heard a noise. They hid behind a bush and waited for the noise to get closer. What the two of them saw was a lone boar. It was probably bigger than Scaramouche himself.
"Okay, I've got a plan," Demongo said "You distract it by playing your flute, and I'll get on top of it and kill it with this rock!"
"Babe," Scaramouche said "This is suicide! I'm not going to get myself killed just so I can know who you are!" Demongo bit his lip.
"Look," He said "I can assure you that you will be perfectly okay. Just distract it, and I can then kill it." Scaramouche gave a glare at Demongo, but sighed. After all, Scaramouche was very curious on who he was. Scaramouche snuck out of the bush and behind a tree, making sure that the boar didn't see him. He then got out his flute and let out one last sigh. Scaramouche then began to play the flute. A quiet, yet notable tune came out of the instrument. The boar seemed mesmerized as it started to walk towards the tree. Heck, Demongo started to get mesmerized, but he knew what he needed to do. Demongo quietly climbed up a nearby tree, right above the boar. He prepared the rock in his right hand, ready to pounce on the giant boar. Finally, the boar walked over right where Demongo could land on him. Demongo jumped from the tree and hit the boar in the head with the rock. The boar instantly died, falling over to the ground. Scaramouche walked out from behind the tree.
"Thank goodness that's over Babe." He said. Demongo walked over to the boar, taking a deep breath.
"Let's hope I still know how to do this..." He said to himself. He then closed his eyes and began to absorb the essence of the boar. The blue flames on his head reignited, and his cape appeared on him once more. Scaramouche's eyes widened when this was all finished. Demongo opened his eyes and looked at Scaramouche, giving him a smirk.
"Y-You're D-Dem-" Scaramouche tried to say.
"Yes, I'm Demongo." Demongo said with a since of pride now in his voice.
"The S-Soul Coll-"
"Yes, I'm the Soul Collector."
"Y-You almo-"
"Yes, I almost killed the Samurai."
"V-V-anquished and d-d"
"Vanquished and damned by Aku for all eternity." Demongo said, still giving a little smirk.
Scaramouche's shocked face became one of exuberant happiness.
"I'M YOUR BIGGEST FAN BABE!" He yelled. Demongo froze.
"Wait, what?"
Chapter 4
Demongo stood frozen and extremely confused as Scaramouche let out excited squeals.
"What do you mean by "biggest fan"?" He asked. Scaramouche stopped his miniature panic attack for a minute to catch his breath so that he could respond.
"Ever since I was programmed to kill the Samurai, Aku would tell me stories about how you were his best assassin!" Scaramouche said.
"H-He did?" Demongo asked.
"Of course Babe!," Scaramouche said "Even when you were vanquished back to the Pit of Hate, Aku would still talk about how he hoped you would eventually come back to kill the Samurai!"
Demongo was dumbfounded by this. Aku actually wanted him to come back? He wanted to see him succeed in killing the Samurai? Scaramouche then leaned towards Demongo and talked in a lower voice.
"Plus, I heard that there were a lot of women for you in the Pit of Hate.."
"I-I'm not into women..." Demongo said.
"Well neither am I Babe." Scaramouche said. Demongo's face turned a bright blue has Scaramouche gave him a subtle wink.
"I-I THINK T-THAT I-I SHOULD GET G-GOING FOR THE N-NIGHT," Demongo said, stuttering on almost every other word "IT WAS N-NICE TO MEET YOU S-SCARAMOUCHE!"
Scaramouche slipped Demongo a piece of paper before he left.
"Call me anytime you need me Babe." Scaramouche said. Demongo ran off, internally screaming. Was Scaramouche trying to flirt with him? Like, he had just met him! Then again, Scaramouche was a big fan of Demongo for the longest time. Demongo had to think about what had just happened, but he first needed some sleep. After all, even demons need their beauty rest. He teleported back to the Pit of Hate and flopped onto his bed, just wanting to have a good night's rest. Even then, his dreams would be invaded by that flute-playing robot...
Chapter 5
"Call him..." Demongo said to himself. In one hand, he had the slip of paper that Scaramouche had given him. In the other hand, a black phone. Demongo was sitting on his bed, his body trembling. He was the freaking Soul Collector for crying out loud! Yet, he still couldn't build up the courage to call Scaramouche. Demongo had always been an empty being, essence filling up his body to give him power. Even when he had the essences of the greatest of warriors, he still felt so empty. Strangely enough, when Scaramouche had shown him mercy and told him about how much he adored him, Demongo felt that emptiness begin to shrink. His finger dialed one number.
"That's a start," Demongo said to himself, "Now the other nine digits..." Demongo tried to move his finger to the other number, but it was frozen. If Demongo had an actual heart, it would have been beating out of his chest. With all of the force in his body, he moved his finger to the second number, clicking on it. Soon, the other numbers followed, until there was one thing left to do. He had to press "call".
"Come on Demongo," Demongo said to himself "You can do this. You've gotten this far now, just press the button..." He was frozen, again. Demongo took deep breaths. Then, in one swift and sudden movement, he pressed "call". There was a long pause, Demongo anxiously waiting for Scaramouche to answer his phone. Finally, Demongo heard the noise that made him feel so happy, yet so nervous.
"Hello? Who is this?" Scaramouche asked.
"I-It's Demongo..." Demongo replied.
"Oh thank goodness you called Babe! I've been waiting for you to call all day!"
Demongo's face went a bright blue when Scaramouche said that.
"Anyway Babe," Scaramouche said "I had a question."
"Y-Yea, what is it?"
"Are you, perhaps, available this Saturday?"
Demongo froze like a statue, a grin slowly forming on his face.
"Yes I am..."
"Then, could you meet me at the sushi place in Aku City?" Scaramouche asked.
"Sure!" Demongo said, his internal screaming about to become external screaming.
"Great! Then I'll see you then Babe!" Scaramouche said, hanging up. Demongo put his phone down, got up from his bed, and screamed. His screams echoed through the Pit of Hate. They weren't screams of anger or screams of agony, however. These were screams of joy with a slight hint of nervousness.
"I'M GOING ON A DATE THIS SATURDAY," Demongo yelled at the top of his lungs "I'M GOING ON A DATE WITH THE MOST HANDSOME ROBOT IN THE WORLD!"
Chapter 6
Scaramouche, who was at his house, hung up on Demongo after they had gotten their date planned out.
"Man, I can't believe he actually wanted to go on a date with me!" Scaramouche said. Then, reality hit him like a brick. He was going on a date with Demongo, his idol for who knows how long.
"Oh my gosh," Scaramouche said "I'M GOING ON A DATE WITH DEMONGO!" He started to excitedly dance around, happiness overtaking him. However, he soon calmed himself down.
"Come on Babe," He said to himself "You're freaking out! Demongo is probably not freaking out as hard as you." After he calmed himself down, Scaramouche had a problem.
"Man, what am I going to wear?" He said to himself. He went to his closet and looked through. There was, of course, his trench coat with his scarf and boots, but Scaramouche wanted to wear something special for this date. After all, what if Demongo dressed himself up? Scaramouche didn't want to look lazy. After looking through for a few minutes, he finally found something. It was a purple suit with an orange scarf and black dress shoes.
"Now this could work!" Scaramouche said, admiring the outfit that he had picked out. He couldn't wait for the date he was going on with Demongo. After all, Demongo made him feel something that he knew he wasn't built to feel. Scaramouche couldn't explain this feeling within one word. He knew that the first time he had met Demongo, he had kept his cool. However, now he was going on a date with Demongo! Not to mention that this was Scaramouche's first date. This was the first time in Scaramouche's artificial life that he was actually not focused on killing Samurai Jack. This was the first time in his manufactured life that he wasn't destroying villages or assassinating enemies of Aku. This was the first time that Scaramouche was allowed to at least feel human. He and Demongo were complete opposites, but for some reason, they were as much of opposites as they were the same...
Chapter 7
It was Saturday evening, and Scaramouche was about to head out, when he received a phone call.
"Hello?" He asked.
"Scaramouche," The voice said "My favorite assassin, how are you today?"
"Not now Aku..." Scaramouche quietly said to himself.
"Doing great!" Scaramouche said out loud with a fake smile.
"Anyway, I had an assignment for you." Aku said.
"Sorry Babe, but I can't do it tonight." Scaramouche said.
"WHAT," Aku said in confusion "Why not?!"
"I have...um..." Scaramouche said, trying to get the words out of his mouth.
"You have what?" Aku asked.
"A, um..."
"Did you have an accident?" Aku asked.
"No, I have a..."
" A WHAT?" Aku asked, getting irritated.
"A DATE," Scaramouche said "I'M GOING ON A DATE!" There was silence for a few seconds, no one saying anything.
"So," Aku said "Who's the lucky girl?"
"Guy"
"Right, I forgot that," Aku said "Who's the lucky guy?" Scaramouche didn't want to tell Aku who it was.
"He, um, he hates the Samurai..." Scaramouche said.
"Good, good. What else?" Aku asked.
"He's into capes," Saramouche said "And he likes my flute playing." There was no response from Aku for a few moments, and Scaramouche was afraid of what he might say.
"Well," Aku said "I'm happy for you! Enjoy your date tonight!"
"Thanks Babe!" Scaramouche said, before hanging up. He let out a sigh of relief. He then looked at his watch and panicked.
"I HAVE TO BE AT THE RESTAURANT IN AN HOUR!" He yelled. Scaramouche then ran out of his house as fast as he could. It was his first date, and he was going to be late! Little did he know, however, was that Aku wasn't just going to let him enjoy the date...
Chapter 8
Saramouche arrived at the restaurant, afraid that he was late. Surprisingly, he was right on time. He caught his breath and sat down at a table. The waiter had asked for his drink orders and stuff, and also if he was with someone. Scaramouche told the waiter that he was expecting someone else. It had been a couple of minutes, and Scaramouche was actually worried that Demongo wasn't coming. As his worries increased, he didn't notice Demongo walking in and sitting at the table.
"Umm, Scaramouche," Demongo asked "Are you okay?" Scaramouche immediately looked up to see Demongo, and he was amazed. Demongo had somehow slicked back his blue, flame-like hair. He was wearing a black and red suit, and the collar was flared in a similar fashion to his cape.
"Woah..." Scaramouche said, his blue eyes twinkling.
"Scaramouche, are you okay?" Demongo asked. Scaramouche shook off all the feelings that he was having and gave a calm smile.
"I'm fine Babe," Scaramouche said "Did I tell you that you look stunning tonight?" Demongo's face went a bright blue as he blushed.
"T-Thank you," He said "You look stunning too." Demongo was internally freaking out, and he didn't know that Scaramouche was also freaking out. The waiter came back and soon got the two's orders. Now, they just had to chat the night away and wait for their food.
"You're a robot," Demongo said "How do you eat food?"
"Well Babe, I was programmed to be more human like than other types of my unit," Scaramouche said "Even though I'm programmed to kill, my programmers still wanted me to at least be humane in the way that I do it."
"Interesting." Demongo said, siping his drink.
"How do Soul collectors eat," Scaramouche asked "I mean, don't you eat the souls you collect?" Demongo giggled at what Scaramouche said.
"We don't eat the souls," Demongo said "We use the souls for energy and power. We honestly don't even need food, yet we still enjoy it every now and then." The two of them began to chitchat about things, unaware of the stranger that had approached their table.
"Are you Scaramouche the Merciless?" The stranger asked in a semi-seductive tone.
"Yea, that's me Bab-" Scaramouche said, pausing when he saw the stranger. It was a green-skinned woman with slicked black hair, red lips, and wearing a long, tight, black dress. Scaramouche bit his lip.
"Aku..." He said under his breath.
"I don't believe we've met before!" Demongo said.
"Indeed we haven't," The woman said "I'm Ikra."
"I'm Demongo." Demongo said, shaking the woman's hand. Scaramouche was dumbfounded by this. How did Demongo not know that that was Aku in disguise?!
"Well, I've got to go find my table." Ikra said. Before she left, however, she bent over into Scaramouche's ear.
"So your dating the Soul Collector, huh?" She asked. Scaramouche was getting irritated as Ikra laughed and walked away. However, Scaramouche couldn't let Aku ruin his date night! Besides, there was much more than just a restaurant...
Author's thingy
Hey, sorry I haven't been updating lately. Chapter 9 is on it's way! Sorry, I've just been busy with other stories lately. But Chapter 9 is almost done!
Chapter 9
It was after dinner, and Scaramouche had a sneaking suspicion that this wasn't the last that they would see Aku on their date. The next place that the two were going to go to was a meadow. It wasn't just any meadow though. At night, all the stars would shine upon the meadow. Scaramouche didn't know if Demongo had ever seen a thing like those stars, so he decided to show him. The sun was already setting, and they had both finished their dinner. Scaramouche and Demongo paid for their meal and left the restaurant. Demongo had no clue where they were going, and Scaramouche wasn't telling him anything.
"So, um, where are we going?" Demongo asked.
"You'll see in a couple of minutes Babe." Scaramouche said. Well, a couple of minutes had passed, and them thirty minutes, and then an hour. Demongo wasn't even sure if Scaramouche knew where they were going. There were in a forest, and it was pitch black out.
"Are we lost?" Demongo asked.
"We're actually almost to where I wanted to take you." Scaramouche said. Pretty soon, Demongo could start to make out what looked like a beach. Once they made it out of the forest and onto the beach, Demongo saw was Scaramouche wanted to show him. He wanted to show him stars. Millions of stars, lighting up the dark night as waves from the ocean crashed upon the shores of the beach. Demongo's eyes sparkled as he stared up at the immense beauty of the stars.
"T-this is what you wanted to show me?" Demongo asked.
"Yea Babe," Scaramouche said "But there is one other thing I wanted to show you."
"What is th-" Demongo tried to say, before being cut off by Scaramouche kissing him on the lips. Demongo's blue flame burned an even brighter blue has his face filled with blush. Scaramouche placed his hands around Demongo and prolonged the kiss. Demongo soon took ahold of Scaramouche's hands and fell backwards onto the sand, taking Scaramouche with him. They both laid on the sand, embracing each other in a passionate make-out. Their hands intertwined as their lips became one. This, this was the best night of Demongo's life, as well as Scaramouche's life. The two of them, when they had stopped kissing, laid side by side, holding each other's hand and staring at the stars.
"Babe, can I tell you something?" Scaramouche asked, turning his head over to Demongo.
"Sure." Demongo said, turning his head over to Scaramouche.
"I love you Babe." Scaramouche said. Demongo blushed again and stared back at the stars.
"I love you too." He said with a smile...
