Good morrow everyone! :D
Alright so before we get into this I does has an announcement: I will be taking a small one week break which means no new story/chapter for the following Saturday upon this work having been posted. Already having reached my milestone of one year and hitting a full year's worth of stories (51-52 I dunno lol), I will be taking a break to rest my mind and such. It'll only be for a week and the following week I'll be back to it!
Now onto another note I do want to clarify on some things: the characters in my works, especially Knuckles, are somewhat a bit OoC. I intentionally do this because personally I don't like the way Sega portrays them, but mainly it's because of how they made Knuckles. In the earlier games he was pretty clever on many things and showed a unique intelligence, but I hated the fact that they made him more dumb afterwards to the point that he became straight up comic relief. Therefore in my works he is basically more smart, but don't worry he isn't Tails smart and if anything I try my best to keep his naivity there. And if anything I'd say that Paramount Knuckles is the closest that gave me a sigh of relief in which he is pretty smart but isn't aware of human culture, which makes sense.
Also in my works Knuckles has chaos powers just like in the movies, but I added more to them. If you noticed on the fact that he can use Chaos Control, it's because me personally he pretty much SHOULD have something like that given that he has a strong connection to the emeralds and for Sega to not give him any sort of powers which that set in mind is pretty stupid. In the Archie comics he had cool powers like Thunder Arrow (shoot lightning bolts), Maximum Heat Knuckle (power up), and limited geokinesis (controlling the earth) to name a few. In my works he has those types of powers and my headcanon is that he's technically more powerful than Shadow without his inhibitor rings, but not too strong that he can beat deities like Solaris for example in his base form; for that he will need to go super/hyper to defeat them and in my works those forms exists.
Pretty much what I write based on him in terms of adventure/fighting focuses on the aspects that Knuckles has more than just super strength and that he has mystical powers. My headcanon is that with how he grew up around the emeralds, their radiating energies permeated into Knuckles and mixed with his own to empower him to become stronger and he pretty much grows more powerful the more he is around them; think of it like a sponge for example. However I do want to avoid the OP protagonist trope in which if you read one of my other works (Knuckles the Echidna: A Guardian's Purpose), he faces difficult enemies that even his base form can't overcome and has to push himself beyond his limits to beat them. Stuff like this when it comes to the action parts of my works will exist, but don't worry if you read some of my works (Speed vs. Strength) for example, he still has to try against people like Sonic. But Sonic is of course the main character in the franchise and has plot armor lol.
So yeah personally I hate how Sega portrays Knuckles and my works is basically me giving him a good reason to exist lol. Not many have to agree with me as we all have our own headcanons to how the characters should act and with the official writers I can't convince them to do the same, which is why fanfiction is there for our enjoyment and to be creative!
So aside from all of that here is a VERY LONG Knuxikal lemon one-shot for you guys and girls to enjoy before I take my one week leave! I should have done this in November and right now it's not November, but just imagine it's November and somewhat cold lol. Hope you like it! ^u^

'Why the heck did I ever agree to this stupid challenge?!' Knuckles thought to himself as he remained burrowed underground below a rock located in the lush jungle of Angel Island. His breath was ragged with sweat running down his crimson fur which was covered in bits of dirt, his anxiousness of being discovered very high. His violet eyes glowed gently within the darkness of the tunnel he was in but luckily he was able to see within it, having enough experience digging underneath the earth that he was able to tell his way around. Regardless he was hoping he wasn't found as the red echidna wasn't prepared for what's currently happening. Even though he was one of the strongest beings on the planet and current guardian of the Master Emerald, this wasn't enough to overcome the current predicament he was in.
Was Knuckles being attacked by Eggman?
No.
Did Rouge finally have a mental breakdown of not getting the Master Emerald for herself that she decided to end his life?
…no but there's a chance.
Is Sonic annoying him with an endless supply of chilidogs being given away for free that he wants Knuckles to try it out?
The latter has dignity and wouldn't hide from something that he finds kind of gross and unhealthy, but the blue hedgehog is related to his current predicament.
So what is the actual reason he is hiding underneath the very land he was born and grew upon if he is in no danger at all?

"Knuckieeeeeee~. Where are you my loooove…"
Knuckles squeaked quietly upon hearing the sweet and gentle voice directly above him. Soft footsteps were felt from the earth around him with the vibrations tickling his body. His heart clenched at the pure and innocence that poured out from the voice which held no trace of malice or anger, only longing and care for the emerald guardian. Regardless Knuckles kept his ground and continued to remain underground not moving, his eyes shut tight while he gritted his teeth. So why is it that he hid himself from this person that means no harm?
"OH MY CHAOS KNUCKIE COME OUT RIGHT NOW! YOU CANNOT HIDE FROM ME FOREVER AND I WILL FIND YOU AND WE WILL BECOME ONE! STOP BEING SUCH A SCAREDYCHAO AND TAKE ME ALREADY!"
The sweet and gentle voice suddenly turned into a frustrated and very, VERY agitated one.
Knuckles jumped slightly from the yell which caused a few small rocks near him to tumble. His eyes widened considerably, knowing this was enough…
POW!
…for them to notice as the male echidna saw a small fist break through the earth above him and began grabbing around.
"I FOUND YOU MY LOVE, NOW COME OUT AND MATE WITH ME! I NEED YOU NOW!" they screamed loudly. Knuckles yelped very unmanly-like and began to burrow away from the hand with his fists punching away at the dirt at high speeds.
'Stupid Sonic! I swear he'll pay for having me do this! It hurts seeing her suffer through this but my pride is on the line here! I just can't believe I have to do this to her… to Tikie…'
"COME BACK HERE KNUCKIE! YOU CAN'T ESCAPE YOUR GIRLFRIEND AND I WILL HAVE YOU!" the loud voice was heard directly behind him. Knuckles continued to dig through the ground not looking back and trying not too as his sharp teeth clenched against one another in stress.
Still… he looked back.
'FUCK!' He turned back around in more panic and started digging faster. For as right behind him in pursuit…
Was a smaller orange echidna.
One that was born three millennia ago and sacrificed herself to save her people from a cataclysmic threat but was resurrected due to the power of the Master Emerald to live once again.
One that was known to be a kind and gentle soul to everyone yet lived a tragic past hated by many for her virtues but found acceptance among the friends she made in the modern time.
One, like Knuckles, who had a strong connection to the Master Emerald and ensured its protection just like him.
One that became his soulmate as the two confessed their feelings for each other ever since they met in the visions she showed him during Chaos' second attempt at destroying the world, becoming boyfriend and girlfriend and living together on Angel Island.
Yet for some reason Knuckles is fleeing from her… and it made sense.
The crazed look on her face with beautiful blue eyes with dilated pupils looking insane and foam coming out of her mouth with sharp teeth gritting together as she pursued him viciously scratching away the earth that stood in her way.
"WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON YOU WE WILL MATE UNTIL I CANNOT FEEL ANYTHING BELOW ME ANYMORE AND EVEN THEN THAT WILL NOT BE ENOUGH! I WILL ENSURE THAT ALL YOUR ESSENCE DOWN THERE WILL FILL ME UP ALL THE WAY AND YOU WILL KNOT INSIDE ME SO THAT YOU DO NOT ESCAPE! COME BACK HERE KNUCKIE!" she screeched wildly.
Tikal the Echidna, who was a pure-hearted individual that despises violence, anything that threatens peace and one who smiles at the good people in her life, is chasing Knuckles bent on having the emerald guardian claim her on the spot with anger and frustration in her eyes for not getting what she wanted.
Knuckles on his part was scared out of his mind on seeing this side of Tikal knowing that she wouldn't EVEN CONSIDER being like this at all, but the thing is that she wasn't doing this by choice or her judgement as Tikal was a very sweet girlfriend to Knuckles and wouldn't ever become aggressive with him due to her nature. If anything the echidna couple were very fluffy and mushy with each other hehe.
The main reason she's acting like this was because, and Knuckles is aware of it, it's that time of the year again.
And Knuckles was struggling hard not to give into the pheromones that she let off or otherwise he'd be doomed to fail.
Especially on the fact that it was happening during a certain month that for many males was a rite of passage in a strange way… okay overall it was pretty dumb but for Knuckles he accepted it. If anything he managed to get pretty far and avoid the worst parts of it, but today it got to the point that his echidna princess got fed up with it and demanded that he rut her endlessly.
'Why did I ever agree to this! Fuck you Sonic!' Knuckles shouted in his head as he continued to flee with Tikal right on his tail, the memories from before coming back to him…

The day before the certain month…

"Hey Knux, I'm bored." A familiar blue hedgehog complained to the emerald guardian. The two were currently in a clothing store patiently waiting; well for Sonic his patience wasn't too strong as he wanted to get out of there and explore more of the world.
Knuckles tsked at this and crossed his arms leaning on a metal rail. "Well deal with hedgehog. I'm in the same boat as you are but I can tolerate it better."
"Yeah but that's because you live on an island with nothing to do Knucklehead! You're used to it!" Sonic fired back. The red echidna huffed and gave a grin. "I enjoy hearing you whine like a kid so keep at it Sonic."
The Blue Blur huffed and crossed his arms as well. "Whatever. I still don't get why we have to be here."
Knuckles simply stared ahead. "Well for your part Amy would pummel you if you didn't say yes and for me Tikal would guilt-trip me with her beautiful face."
"Hehe you're such a softie Knux." Sonic grinned. "That tough attitude and macho appearance of yours just melts whenever she gets cute for you huh?"
Knuckles blushed and growled looking away. "Can say the same way with you with Amy hedgehog."
"Yeah but at least I look cooler."
"Whatever." Knuckles said before turning his gaze towards the other two that were with them, the ones that they were discussing about. "Hopefully they find their costumes soon enough." he said watching Amy and Tikal look at some of them through the clothing racks.
Sonic nodded as well. "I don't get why Amy can't turn werehog again? I told her she still looks cute even with all that fur."
The emerald guardian chuckled. "Women are a mystery to us Sonic and even I felt the wrong end of the stick when I questioned your girl. I'm doubting how you're still uninjured whenever you make Amy mad."
"It's all about the charm Knux and I could teach you some to use on Tikal." Sonic offered.
"There's no way I'm learning any charms from you Sonic. It'll just scare her away and I'm not planning on that." Knuckles countered. "Besides just being myself is all she needs from what she told me and likewise I want her to be herself."
The cobalt hero grinned. "Wished I had what you got Knuckles and not someone that goes psycho every time she thinks she doesn't look cute on certain days hehe."
WHOOSH!
Sonic immediately dodged the cat ears thrown at him. "I HEARD THAT!" the voice of Amy shouted at she and Tikal continued to roam through costumes. The Blue Blur grinned sheepishly looking at Knuckles who sighed shaking his head. "Real smooth hedgehog."
Not knowing what else to say or do Sonic roamed through his mind on how to kill time while waiting for their girlfriends who took an eternity. If anything today is Halloween and both Amy and Tikal were searching for costumes to wear during the night. For the Blue Blur he decided on going werehog again while Knuckles will be doing a vampire getup like last time. Amy was trying to find a princess costume while Tikal wanted to match with Knuckles with her own vampire set. For the girls it took a long time as Amy sputtered on what is and is not cute while Tikal looked through what she could find being modest and not over-revealing, but even she had a hard time convincing Amy what she wanted. Even then Tikal just wanted to impress Knuckles.
Suddenly a thought came to Sonic, and his smile turned devious as he looked at Knuckles. "Hey Knux, you up for a challenge?"
Knuckles switched his gaze to Sonic raising an eyebrow. "If it's another friendly spar then I'll pass. I don't want anything to happen like last time where Tikie got too worried after our tie."
Sonic shook his head. "No it's nothing like that. This is more a gentleman's challenge."
"How so?" Knuckles asked.
"Well basically it involves our… needs."
"Needs?"
Sonic nodded this time. "Yup and for us guys it's a step up to becoming more of a man!"
"…Okay what are you on about hedgehog?" Knuckles asked again.
"Well pretty much I realized that today's the last day of October and tomorrow's the first day of November." the cobalt hero explained. Knuckles nodded to this. "I'm well aware of that."
"Alright so to keep it simple, the challenge is called Not Nut November."

"…what?" the emerald guardian simply said. Sonic grinned and laughed knowing he wouldn't know. Turning his green eyes to their girlfriends and seeing that they were still searching among the disguises, he leaned closer to Knuckles keeping his voice down. "No Nut November. Basically you go a whole month without jacking off or having sex."
Knuckles raised an eyebrow again. "Sounds like a stupid challenge."
"But it helps you become a stronger man in the end Knux." Sonic stated. "If you can go a full thirty days without playing with your winkie or doing Tikal at all then you'll have ascended in the realm of the gods!"
"That still sounds stupid hedgehog. I'm not gonna suffer through a month of avoiding Tikie's touch simply because of a rite of a passage I'm not aware about. Besides Tikie wouldn't want that and I'm not sure when her next heat is going to happen." Knuckles explained. "You can forget it I ain't doing it."
Sonic continued to grin regardless. "What if we up the stakes then." the blue hedgehog then pushed himself off the rail and faced him. "We both go through that whole month and see who can last the longest. The one who can make it to the end of the month after midnight wins."
"I'm still not doing it Sonic." Knuckles said closing his eyes.
"You didn't let me finish. If you win… I'll put on one of Amy's dresses and you can make fun of me while I have it on. For one day."
This got the emerald guardian's attention, a smile rising on his face. To see Sonic in a bright red dress that can be seen from a mile away… was hysterical for Knuckles as he began holding in his laughs from just imagining it. The freedom to make fun of the Blue Blur and hurt his pride was something he'd been wanting to do since Sonic annoys him a lot every time they go out with the girls. "Pfft, if you're willing to do that then I'll accept."
"Ah ah, but that means you got to do something if YOU lose Knux." Sonic placed a hand under his chin thinking of an idea, and not a moment later did his smirk become devilish. "If I win, YOU have to put on Tikal's blouse and skirt."

Knuckles' eye twitched upon hearing that. To be fair though the male echidnas back then wore skirts, but Tikal was smaller than Knuckles so it'll reach up to a few inches above the knee which would still be embarrassing. Her white blouse was much too small for him and would tear with any big movement he made and wouldn't last. If anything the red echidna saw Sonic's own loss condition more hilarious compared to his own and wouldn't mind it, but Tikal was just as girly as Amy and her skirt has frills at the end of it so his dignity would still take a hit. Knuckles looked towards Tikal and noted the clothing he described, shivering that he would have to wear it if he lost. His pride was on the line and to say no would show weakness, so being the gullible echidna that many know and love he made his choice.
"Fine hedgehog. I'll accept this challenge and can't wait to see you lose." Knuckles remarked.
"Too bad for you Knux I'm not planning on losing. Can't wait to see how you look like in your people's clothes hehe, especially ones from a girl." Sonic countered. The two nodded once and shook hands afterward. "No Nut November starts tomorrow so try to keep yourself in check echidna."
"Heh I should be asking that to you." Knuckles said. Luckily when they released their handshake Amy and Tikal walked up to them with a costume in their hands.
"Oh Sonic look at this! I found a cute Beauty and the Beast princess costume that'll look great together with your werehog form just like in the movie! Now we just have to find you a suit that'll fit your bulky frame, c'mon!" the pink hedgehog grabbed Sonic's arm and began pulling him away as the latter struggled to escape her titanic grip. "Knuckles, Tikal help!" he yelled.
Knuckles laughed waving them off as he looked at Tikal who smiled cutely at him presenting her costume. "It is a bit more modest to the last one Knuckie but look, it has cute puffy fluffballs on them!" the echidna princess yipped. Knuckles chuckled upon seeing how fluffy her costume was, if anything it was less scary looking and more adorable. Kind of a contrast to his own dark costume but nonetheless he would always see Tikal as an angel.
"It'll look beautiful on you Tikie. I can't wait to see you with it on." Knuckles said. Tikal squealed and hugged Knuckles with the latter returning it. "Ready to go?" the emerald guardian asked.
"Yes!" Tikal replied and with that the two held each other's hands and followed the hedgehog duo to wherever they went as they finished their shopping. Knuckles on his part looked down at Tikal and admired her beaming face with a smile on it that he promised would stay there for the rest of her life. She lived a terrible past and he was committed to giving her a better future no matter what. It'll hurt him deeply that he wouldn't be able to mate with her for the entire month of November and is aware that it would hurt her just as much, but for Knuckles' sake it was a bet that he and Sonic made in which he has to honor. Honor is common among his people and although he was formerly the last of his kind and had different aspects, some things such as honor will remain with him. It'll be hard but Knuckles knows that he can get through with it… hopefully. And it'll be REALLY tough with Tikal since he'll have to avoid being intimate with her for thirty days.
It wasn't too long after the Halloween festivities were over that once midnight arrived greeting the next day, No Nut November has officially begun.

Day 1

Knuckles woke up just like every other day, except he wasn't alone anymore. Beside him was the sleeping form of Tikal who had her arms wrapped around his neck with her face snuggling next to his. The emerald guardian sighed peacefully as they laid in the soft bed within their home that was next to the emerald altar.
'Alright time to start off strong in this dumb challenge. Shouldn't be too hard.' Knuckles thought beginning to get up from the bed. Except Tikal still clung to him and followed suit while making tiny snoring sounds, her eyes closed in slumber as the male echidna smiled and kissed her forehead. 'Well, I hope it isn't too hard.'
Getting off the bed the sheets fell off their form with Knuckles feeling a slight breeze and the movement apparently didn't wake up Tikal, the echidna princess very comfortable hugging her emerald guardian. Knuckles sighed once again and wrapped his arms around her body to carry her bridal style.
Momentarily staring at her naked form since the two sleep without clothes on every night together. Just seeing her soft and moderately curvy body had Knuckles' hidden animal slowly begin to rise, the thought of doing a morning quickie come to his mind.
'NO! I can't lose this! Even if the hedgehog isn't here to see this I must win this challenge with honor!' Knuckles growled quietly as he reached down towards the sheets and covered themselves with it, Tikal's bare body hidden from view. The red echidna then began heading out the bedroom trying to think of something else, the image of her body still in his mind and his lower extremity refusing to calm down.
'This is gonna be tougher than anything I have ever faced…'

Day 5

"Knuckie can you hand me the bucket please?" Tikal asked. Knuckles lowered the boulder he had on his shoulder to grab the nearby container and handed it to her. "Here you go my love." he replied. The two were working in the front with Knuckles moving a few rocks out of the way to make more space around the small river he set up there while Tikal gathered fresh water for their supply.
The emerald guardian picked up the boulder afterwards and settled it next to a pile he made near the emerald altar as he wiped some sweat off his forehead. "Alright just a few more to go and then I can take them to the desert region of the island."
For the echidna princess she was having trouble collecting enough water from the side of the river due to it being shallower there so she reached further towards the center. "Almost… there…" Tikal muttered trying to hold the weight up from the filling bucket. Knuckles walked back towards her as she was doing this. "Hey Tikie do you need any-?"
His words got stuck in his throat upon seeing her pull back from the river, except his eyes were focused on her lower part. Her movement caused her nicely shaped butt to stick out from under her skirt and Knuckles was able to see it very pronounced as Tikal panted lightly keeping herself steady on the sides of the bucket. For the male echidna it made his blood travel down south.
"Phew… that was scary…" Tikal breathed out leaning up and turning around to meet his eyes. "Have you finished your task my love?"
This broke Knuckles' dazed expression as he shook his head. "O-Oh uh y-yeah, just wanted to see if you needed any help with anything haha." Knuckles said sheepishly. Tikal was a bit confused by his stuttering but brushed it off with a nod and a smile. "Why yes Knuckie, we just need to move the buckets to the back."
"Sure thing." Knuckles proceeded to grab a few and took them to where they needed to go, all the while the image of her posterior still in his mind. 'Okay it's DEFINITELY gonna be tougher than I thought.'

Day 8
…
Knuckles came out of the bathroom holding a toilet paper holder in hand.
"Crap we ran out of toilet paper." he quietly said heading towards the closet door next to it. Ever since he began getting accustomed to living inside the small dome-shaped house near the altar with Tikal he began to slowly transition to things that modern society normally does.
One of these things is using a bathroom like a normal person that consists of a modern-day toilet and toilet paper. The red echidna at times still does his business out in nature like how he's done most of his life but not as much anymore. If anything he got so used to using toilet paper that he began to despise doing it in nature without bringing a roll hehe.
Knuckles approached the door and opened with his violet eyes scanning for the item he needed. They fell upon the rolls on the floor and with a grin picked one up closing the door afterward and headed back towards the bathroom.
His eyes caught Tikal sitting quietly on the couch however, the emerald guardian seeing that the echidna princess was currently knitting. Knuckles smiled at this finding it really cute, his girlfriend having told him that knitting was one of the things she loves to do with her grandmother having taught her. His gaze fell upon the work she was doing and saw that it was a white piece of cloth shaped like a square with something on it and wording below it. Apparently Tikal didn't sense his presence and hummed to herself while she continued knitting, Knuckles remaining quiet so as to not disturb her.
'Wonder what's on it?' Knuckles thought as he leaned in a litter closer, and his eyes widened in surprise.
The something on it was a handsewn picture of them two holding each other with several hearts around them. For how it looked Tikal was very experienced in which the detail was almost as close as to the real thing, Knuckles simply astounded at the handwork. His eyes looked down below towards the wording.
'Knuxikal? Huh… that's an interesting word.'
Knuckles then noticed Tikal stop her sewing to look at it lovingly, her eyes becoming half-lidded as she sighed in bliss hugging the cloth close to her. "Knuckie…~"
Thump.
Knuckles heart skipped a beat with his face blushing a fierce red as he quickly but quietly ran back towards the bathroom and gently closing the door as best he can. He leaned onto the door and slowly slid down it with hands on his face. 'SO CUTE!'
Luckily for him, he was able to get away just in time as Tikal began to emit a certain scent.

Day 12
…
He was beginning to have a hard time thinking about other things rather than his cute yet beautiful princess. Nearly halfway through the month did Knuckles struggle with getting some thoughts out of his head that tried to turn him on relating to Tikal. They didn't seem intentional but if anything the normal situations he sees from her were if anything pretty suggestive… well to Knuckles. From stretching her arms in the air which gave the red echidna a good view of her nicely sized breasts to kneeling down to pick up a fallen object with Knuckles directly behind her, it was getting very difficult for Knuckles to get through the challenge.
And he was having an even tougher time trying not to relieve himself with some strokes, so to compensate he just threw himself into an ice-cold lake when he got the chance.
"How's it going Knucklehead? Did you and Tikal 'play' with each other yet when you know you can't?' Sonic teased from the other side of the communicator Knuckles had, the emerald guardian groaning in irritation. "No we haven't done it yet hedgehog and I'll make sure to win this challenge."
"Alright I'll believe ya for now Knux. On my end me and Ames are doing alright and it's been mainly cuddling."
"I feel like I shouldn't believe you Sonic. Having known you for a while you tend to be sarcastic."
"Oh wow Knux that really hurt! You don't have faith in me, one of your best buds that you've known for a while that always got your back when you need it?"
"Yeah, one of my best buds that constantly annoys me and finds whatever they can to make me feel stupid."
"Aw don't be like that Knucklehead you know I don't mean it. Heck it's just some friendly teasing that's all!"
"Whatever, so I guess so far we'll keep this as a draw so far."
"Yup and like I said, whoever reaches the first of December without letting out a single drop wins!"
"Noted, so what have you been doing to get rid of the feeling down there when… you know… you get thoughts of Amy without the dress…"
There was silence for a few seconds.
"…I just run it off."
Knuckles chuckled shaking his head. "Classic answer from the world's fastest hedgehog. Alright take care and hope you fall into a lake."
"Likewise Knux and hope a big rock lands on your head hehe."
Turning off the communicator Knuckles gave a sigh leaning back on the couch. "Still don't kind of believe him, but we'll see how it goes."
"How what goes Knuckie?"
Knuckles jumped slightly to see Tikal standing near him with curiosity on her face. He thought fast on this one. "O-Oh just about this one movie that's gonna come out with this blue and red superhero going up against a dark overlord. Sonic, Tails and I were planning to see it soon either here or at one of their places."
Tikal was still puzzled on it but gave a nod nonetheless. "Well okay my love." She spoke before sitting herself next to Knuckles and cuddling him. The emerald guardian got himself comfortable and wrapped his arm around her waist bringing her closer, the echidna princess nuzzling her head on his chest and sighing. Knuckles took the chance to inhale her flowery scent burying his nose into her orange quills, feeling how soft and well maintained they were. 'Amy doesn't play around when giving advice on how Tikal washes herself in modern times hehe.'
A comfortable silence followed with the two echidnas enjoying each other's company, Tikal gently tracing her fingers along Knuckles' strong arm with the latter relishing her touch.
