The next day...
Zack, Billy, Ash and Dawn were inside Trini's house, trying to figure out the best way to let Minh know that her mom is dead.
Ash was sitting backwards in a chair that faced the other three.
The other five were pursuing Robo-Rita.
Outside, there was a mailbox with the name 'Kwan' on the front and '839' on the side.
They all paced around the living room.
"So, what are we gonna say?" Zack asked. "Her mom drowned."
"She won't fall for it." Dawn rebuked his idea.
"Dawn's right." Billy turned to him. "Minh's too smart for that."
"Either way, we need to be careful with how we choose to disclose this information." Ash pointed out from the chair he was sitting in. "Telling someone their mother died is tough to hear."
"Well, we gotta decide something quick because school is out." Zack shot back.
"The others might need help searching the Dark Dimension."
"I seriously doubt that." Dawn muttered sarcastically. "The rest of Earth's Rangers are helping them in the search."
"Look, Zordon's rules-"
"Zack! Rules can be broken for a good reason!" The blue ranger cut him off harshly. "And for the record, if Zordon was here, I am sure he would say Minh needs to know."
"It's always been her and Trini. She doesn't have anybody else." He spluttered, a look of horror dawning on his eyes. "Who is gonna take care of her now?"
"We'll figure something out." Ash remarked.
"Our team... We have never been through something like this before. No, we must tell her the truth." Billy sighed. "Otherwise, how's she getting closure?"
"Billy, she is a kid!" Zack shouted. "She is a kid, Billy. She doesn't need to know that we are power rangers!"
"She needs to know Rita Repulsa killed her mom!"
"She just found out Zack." Ash gestured to the door. They saw Minh looking at them shocked before her books and bag fell out of her hands.
"We have to tell her everything." Billy repeated to the black ranger, both their faces ashen at seeing Minh.
Ash left the room and stood in front of her bedroom. The door was closed, but Minh could be heard crying from the other side.
He knocked on the door.
"Go away."
"You know I can't do that." Ash sighed.
"Mind if I come in." He then opened the door and entered the room.
Minh was on the bed, her arms covering her eyes on her pillow.
He approached her and sat down on the bed.
"How are you?" He asked.
She continued to cry.
"Sorry for not sharing this right away, but we weren't certain you were ready to hear your mom's dead." Ash continued. "Now that she's gone though, you're entitled to a explanation."
A still upset Minh turned to his direction.
"We'll go into full detail about it another time." He informed her. "And your mother's still with you in spirit."
Ash then got up off the bed and headed towards the door.
"How did she die?" Minh asked.
Still holding the door handle Ash turned around and looked at her.
"She took a attack meant for one of us." He explained. "The end result wasn't pleasant."
Minh cried some more while staring at him.
"As I just said, we'll go into full detail about it another time." He stated. "Let me know if you want to talk to someone else."
He then turned the knob and opened the door, closing it behind him.
"Well?" Dawn wanted to know how it went.
"Don't expect her to come out for the time being. She's still upset over her mother's death." Ash responded. "It'll be a while before she comes to terms with this. Until then we keep this to ourselves."
Billy and Zack nod.
"The next order of business is deciding who takes care of her before we assist the others." Zack sighed.
The four Rangers looked at one another, telling Minh the truth is gonna hurt.
