Mer may I?
'Can I pick and choose which part of the body is the fishy?'
The nets were in the water and so the hardest part was about to begin. Which was the waiting. After all, the lure was set and the rewards would be big when catching the well… catch! As snatching up a merman would definitely bring in the coveted credits. Selling the catch of the day to the highest bidder. As it was, there were those collectors out there whom loved to spend their rather ill gotten earnings on such things they called collectables. Most likely preserving the fish-man in carbonite while still in mint condition being all young and fresh out of water.
At least that was the plan.
Alpha Seven-Ten was out at sea in his little dingy. The other fishermen having made fun of him for thinking he could actually catch anything. Let alone the most coveted price of all. The totally elusive merman. The one who reduce any man to a drunken like stupor never to snap out of with their gorgeous singing. As apparently it had happened, proof of it still pending. But Seven as he liked to shorten his name to was feeling rather confident. Cocky even. That he of all the fishermen working from the small village's harbour would bring in the price of all prices. And so here he was, all prepped, ready and waiting for the supposedly bling-bling loving merman to take the bait Seven had set.
* Seven must've dozed off at one point with the sun shining, warming the day and the calming seas around him the perfect setting to lull any man to sleep. Then again, Seven had made sure he would be alerted as soon as the lure was nibbled on. Having a gadget of a thing to do just that. Something he himself had invented. And so, sleeping soundly as Seven had been was roused from his sleep by a loud splashing sound with the water spilling all over his person.
The trap had been sprung and something big had been caught in the net.
Seven was up and immediately checking the trap, seeing a large size tail fin flapping in the water. It could not have been anything else but a merman! The fin so big it could not have belonged to anything else. Certainly no ordinary fish! Seven could not see if this was the case yet as the upper part of the fish was still under water. Clearly trying to free itself from the trap.
Seven needed to act quickly to make sure the merman did not get away. He had his earplugs on moving quickly as he started reeling in the net into his small boat. The splashing and the struggling continued for a moment before it stopped completely. The merman, which Seven still hoped it was he had caught, becoming totally still. Something odd surely.
Seven became worried his catch had been injured or worse.
Seven moved even quicker out of rear to get the fish into his dingy before it was too late. After all a lot of credits were riding on this one single catch. Something of an improvement for Seven's life for sure. Maybe even leave this profession behind and go into the big part of the galaxy and become a soldier? Something of a dream for sure for most of the younger men in the small fishing village.
Soon enough Seven had managed to haul the catch up and to the surface and it was what he had expected it to be. A genuine, bona fide merman! But the fish man seemed unmoving as it rose to the surface and so Seven hauled them inside the net and into the boat.
Ridding the tale fin from the net, he got a bucket full of water and threw it all over the merman, hoping the action would help them as there were no visible wounds on the body, well, not the fish part nor the upper body being all human like.
Alas, nothing changed. The merman remained perfectly still, their face turned against the bottom of the boat. Something of an alarm for sure for Seven worried the merman had died while getting stuck in the fishing net.
Seven took a moment to thinking of what he could and should do. After all, the fishies weren't to good out of water. Alas, as he had heard from the fables, the mermen could breathe air as well. But perhaps those tales had been wrong after all?
Seven made a decision and moved close enough to have a look, placing two fingers on the pulse point of the merman's neck assuming it was in a similar place as the humans had theirs. It took a moment but then, he felt something. A faint beat of the heart?
Just as Seven was about to sigh out of relief his catch still being alive, the merman turned their face towards Seven. With their gorgeous eyes open wide they stared right into Seven's soul.
Seven could simply stare at the most beautiful face he had ever seen. The merman's eyes locking on Seven's. There was no singing though. Then again, the merman looked scared, panicked even. Blinking their eyes as if trying to convey some message to Seven.
Seven was still staring at the merman, mesmerised by the golden eyes and the gorgeous face. But then he heard it. The voice speaking inside of his own head. It was like magic, but it seemed like the merman was talking to him without using any spoken out loud words.
"Please, let me go."
Seven was confused and shook his head, bewildered and unbelieving he had actually heard the plea.
But the merman held his gaze, and repeated the words.
"Please, let me go back."
Seven was torn. First off, this was his meal ticket, his big price he had just won. But then again, he felt completely charmed by this creature. The eyes, the face, the…. Oops!
It looked like the merman was suddenly starting to change… The tail, the fin… all of it disappearing the more Seven stared at the mer… man? Because the merman was turning into a full blown man!
"What's happening?" Seven found himself asking out loud.
"I am changing." The voice in his head stated.
"But… why? You are a… merman? Right?" Seven tried to make some sense of it all.
"I am, But if I will stay out of the water for too long, I will start to change… and soon, it will become… permanent." The voice continued.
"I, I…" Seven was totally confused.
As on the other hand he did not want to be cruel. Then again, if this merman was a man, there would be no credits to collect after all. and thirdly… he was slowly but surely falling for the mer…man.
"I… am sorry." Seven managed realising only then what he needed to do.
Seven did not hesitate, rather grabbed a hold of the merman. Holding him in his arms about to throw him back into the water. It was then when he felt the soft touch on his cheek. Seven's and the merman's eyes locking for a moment.
"Come to the beach in the evening. After sunset." The merman spoke in Seven's head then. "I will give you your reward for saving me."
Seven only nodded and with one swell swoop swung the merman over board. Seeing them splashing gingerly in the water below, the fin back as the merman swam away. The tale splashing a few times before disappearing out of sight.
Seven could only watch as his… merman was gone.
Perhaps it had all been a dream after all. But, being reminded of what the merman had told him. To come to the beach after the sun had set. Well, what did he have to lose except perhaps his sanity if this had all been a dream after all.
Seven was at the beach. Sitting there in waiting. The sun long since having set, the moon being up.
Alas, there was no merman or any other creature was in sight. Seven was sure he had been either tricked by some magical creature which did not even exist. After all, none of the village people had seen a merman. Ever. And so Seven guessed he had been hallucinating because of too much sun or worse. He was loosing his sanity!
Seven let out a deep sigh, got up giving the dark waters one last look and was about to walk away when he heard it. The familiar splashing sound of water. As he turned his gaze back to the water's edge, he could see it. There, in the pale slice of the moonlight a figure was walking out of the water.
As Seven stood there frozen in his steps, the figure came to full view in the moonlight. Standing up fully was the clear body of a man. The most gorgeous man Seven had ever seen stood there on the sandy beach. Staring right back at Seven. The eyes the same he had seen before. The golden hue unmistakable. The beautiful face the same Seven had admired on his boat during the day.
"You came back." Seven's voice was a soft whisper.
"I promised you didn't I?" This time, the words were spoken out loud.
"You… you can talk?" Seven's voice was coarse, staring at the hot naked man in front of him.
"Yes, but only during the dark hours." The merman replied. "I have come to give you your reward as promised."
The merman stepped close enough to Seven, the two practically sharing the same air. Seven still could not move. But he was patiently waiting for the merman to make his move, whatever that just might have been.
And so the merman did make the move. Pressing his lips on Seven's. Tasting the other, nipping and suckling on Seven's lips for what seemed like a most perfect eternity before breaking off.
"I… um… yeah…" Seven was so so confused now. But he was enjoying himself. As whom in their right mind could resist this… most gorgeous merman having swam to them and giving a reward? The kiss perhaps?
"I am here for your reward." The merman stated again. So the kiss wasn't it Seven guessed. "Now, please may I undress you." The merman asked Seven like it was something so natural to ask from someone they had just met. Oh well, when with a merman, right?
"I… of course." Seven could only watch as nimble hands started removing his clothing. The both of them soon enough equally as naked in the paleness of the moon light.
The merman took a step back looking at Seven. His eyes linger along each plane of the fisherman, then nodding appreciatively. Stepping to Seven again, the merman's hands were quickly all over Seven. His fingers tracing patters over Seven's nakedness as if familiarising himself with the other man.
"I… what shall I call you?" Seven realising they were hardly on first name basis and here they were just about…um… make love? Have sex? As clearly this was the prelude to the act, right?
"I am the one they call Tup." The merman's mouth found its way back to Seven's skin, his lips… suckling, nibbling, tasting, kissing and licking him all over, moving ever lower down Seven's body. Tup, as he knew the merman now as, soon on his knees in front of Seven. What a gorgeous sight to behold!
"Tup, um… pleasure… oooh… to make your… acquaintance." Was all Seven managed as Tup was fully invested in the total fullness of Seven's. All doubts of what the reward for saving Tup, the merman's life just might have been having been hoisted off of the small dingy of Seven's.
Poles, rods, blasters and vibroknives! Calling it fishing?
'Gone out for the day to catch me some of them fishies?'
Howz and Wolffie were on a trip. The couple having some time off from their busy schedule and deciding to take a spin on a boat during the long weekend. After all, it had been a long time in the planning and so finally having to realise this time together was a Force sent. The couple having been together for the longest while but there was always something going on lately, never really being able to make the time for each other. Until now.
And so, this weekend was reserved for hanging out in the sun, shooting skeets with their blasters they loved to being former soldiers and keeping up their skills with target practices these days. And well, gutting fish with vibroknives? If they caught any of course. Not a big deal if they did not.
While renting the boat they had gotten the very chatty keeper of the small business for boat and fishing related rentals to basically share the whole history of the small village they had started their trip from. The tales from the before. The time when way back when, when according to the shopkeep, mermen roamed the high seas and even turned their human lovers into their kind while making love to them.
"That…. That sounds… interesting." Howzer tried to be polite to the elderly man while listening into the tallest fish tales ever heard. But as Wolffie looked on while the other two were chatting, there was a certain wistfulness in the shopkeeper as he spoke. As if having lost the perfect merman or something similar to the high seas?
"So, that was the most cockamamy story I have heard in a while." Howz stated after him and Wolffie had left the harbour in their rented fishing boat for the long weekend.
"Well, guess there might just have been a smidgen of truth sprinkled in there too. Who knows what the oceans hold in them." Wolffie being the more romantic one of the two, believing in the supernatural more easier than Howz did.
"Yeah, right!" Howz simply laughed, nudging his husband as the two lay in the sun. The fishing lures having been thrown in the waters. Not really excepting to catch anything much, but it was part of the fun. The trying.
"Who knows what will rise from the deep seas when we reel the hooks back in!" Wolffie chuckled and gently nudged his partner. The two of them sharing a quick kiss which soon turned into a rather heated make out session under the bright sun.
The sun was up high in the midday sky. Howz and Wolffie having dozed off after their snuggle moment. The fishing thing forgotten long a go.
The friendly and slow moment of waking up in the arms of one's partner soon turned into a chaotic one as they heard the splashing sounds at the aft of the ship where their fishing lines were still in the water.
"We forgot all about that!" Wolffie chuckled getting up and moving towards their lures. "Looks like we caught something after all!"
Howz was by his side staring into the water. There was a whole lot of splashing going on there. And the rather hefty size tale fin pushing into the surface causing the waters around the area to soar.
"Um, what, is that?" Howz pointed at the fish(?) they had caught. Or at least something having somehow tangled with their hooks.
"I… looks big!" Was all Wolffie managed.
Just then, a rather loud shrieking noise pierced the air and both their ears. Not a pleasant sound at all, rather causing discomfort both Howz and Wolffie trying to cover their ears.
"What the kriff?"
The noise was heard again and then nothing, the splashing subsiding for a moment.
Wolffie and Howz glanced at the waters. Seeing it all calm but the outline of the fin was visible through the water and what they could see attached to said fin… well… surprised them.
"it's a… it's a…" Wolffie shook his head in disbelief.
"A merman?" Howz glanced at his partner equally as shocked and wide eyed.
It took a moment for them to realise what was happening and so.
"We need to let it off the hook!" Howz was weighing their options in saving the creature.
"Jumping in!" Wolffie was already stepping on the ledge and soon enough dove into the water without hesitation.
Howz looked on, releasing the line but it seemed to be tightly wound around their… um merman. Only hoping it wasn't too late to save them. That nothing bad had happened to this, mythical creature which neither of them believed in.
Wolffie had reached the merman. The creature unmoving. Seeing the line strung around the creature, having caused open wounds on the skin of the merman. The only option was to cut the cord and try to get the creature back on board.
Wolffie reached the surface again, shouting out to his partner.
"Hon, cut the line!"
Howz did as ordered watching on as Wolffie dove back to get the merman. Between the two of them they managed to haul the half sea creature, half man on board. immediately cutting off the fishing line being stuck around the fin end of the merman. Howz already having the med kit ready the two started treating the bleeding wounds.
"Is he…?"
Wolffie pressed his fingers on the pulse point assuming it was the same as it was for a humans. And he was right, the pulse was faint but there.
"He is alive."
Howz only nodded cursing inwardly of being such an idiot in leaving the fishing poles unattended even if he had not believed something like this… a merman would be lured with their stupid fish baits. Then again… a merman? What the kark?
Seeing the distress on his partner Wolffie placed his hand on Howz's shoulder.
"We could not have known… about.. this… being real."
"Yeah."
They worked in unison in perfect silence, trying to do their very best to make sure the merman would survive. Their short holiday of perfection having taken a turn to the very sour.
The night had fallen by the time their guest finally stirred.
Wolffie and Howz had been worried al this time. Tending to their patient the best they could, keeping his moist and secure and then covering the merman in blankets after he had started to shiver. He seemed to be sleeping rather peacefully for now. But the two humans could not really be sure whether he was okay or not.
Having another check-up with their patient, Wolffie and Howie were surprised to find him alert, awake with eyes open, staring right back at the duo.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" Howz asked cautiously, not really sure if the merman could talk or understand him.
The merman simply glared back without responding. Wolffie joined by Howz's side, both of them squatting at their patient's side trying to be as non-threatening as possible. After all, the merman looked, scared.
Seeing the merman's face now in the pale moonlight… well… he was a sight for sure. Something the two had picked up on earlier of course. But being totally submerged in taking care of the merman not to even thinking about such things… well… guess on some level, they had. He was, gorgeous!
"My name, is Seven." The merman finally responded after having observed the duo for a spell.
"Howz, Wolffie." Howz offered to Seven while pointing at himself and his partner.
Seven was silent once again for a moment before checking himself visibility and then moving a bit to test he was alright, causing the blanket to fall off. He moved more and got up. And much to the two men's surprise the mer- now turned full-blown man in all his naked glory was standing on his own two feet in front of the two.
Wolffie and Howz's mouths fell open in surprise. Only able to gawk at the, um.. well endowed sea creature of a merman in front of them shamelessly parading about. Well standing up at least.
"We… that is…. Howz and me… we're sorry… about… you know…" Wolffie tried to explain what had happened.
"Yeah, we did not know… that… well… that you existed?" Howz chimed in.
Seven started at the duo for a moment again. Then a big smile emerged.
He moved to stand right in front of the still squatting men. His junk dangling before their surprised faces without any shame visible in Seven's eyes. His hands gently touching each man's face and then simply stating.
"I am quite real. And now, I can show you what it all means."
The merman Tup was on his way. Having picked the scent of his partner, swimming as fast as he could towards where the trail ended. A fishing boat! He should have known better. Seven was always partial to the glittery lures those fishing humans set as bait.
Tup swam towards the ship stationary in the pale of the moonlight. The lights dim inside of it. He could observe the fishing rods there still in their stand, all hauled up and packed up neatly thankfully. Clearly, no fishing going on at the moment.
Tup had picked up Seven's scent again and it was coming right from the boat. He was fearful though, as most humans did not take too kindly to their kin. Some even hunting them for sports. Alas, with their crystal clear singing voices, Tup, Seven and others of their kind had managed to subdue those hunters.
Tup wasn't getting any of those vibes coming from this boat though. Having a sixth sense of these things as he did. And so, as he did not feel the presence of death either, Tup decided to take his chances while swimming towards the small boat and quickly taking himself on board.
Tup carefully stepped, now that he had feet again it being night and all and on dry land in a manner of speaking, with shaky footfalls towards the living quarters of the ship. As he approached he could hear laughter coming from the inside. And the one specific voice he could recognise. That of his partner, Seven. The one Tup had spent the better part of a three hundred years after the former fisherman having transformed into a merman as well. The two sharing a loving albeit somewhat open relationship.
Tup remained behind the door listening into the banter coming from the inside. Having observed two other people in there with Seven, the banter bordering on flirting it seemed. Oh Seven! The merman of Tup''s life clearly having managed to charm those humans who had most likely caught Seven with their fishing lures.
Tup listened to the chatting coming from the quarters for a moment longer, having figured out Seven had made friends with two men. Them apparently partners as well, having eavesdropped on the conversation for a moment now. Deciding it was time for him to make an appearance as it seemed the whole merman stuff was out there in the open for the other two.
Tup, fully naked of course, stepped through the door. What an entrance for sure! As it was a forgone conclusion once in their full human form, the mermen were rather well equipped. Never having gotten any complaints!
The following oohs and ahs direct indication of the fact!
"Tup!" Seven was up and all over his partner as soon as he saw the merman. "So glad you could join us!"
It wasn't like Seven had not been missing for the better part of the day! Oh well.
"These are my new friends, Howz and Wolffie!"
Tup glanced between the two gorgeous humans. As it turned out, Seven had once again lucked out! These two were perfect for them after all! Good choice, Seven!
"Pleasure, I am sure." Tup smirked while offering his hand in greeting, the eyes of the other two men two all over his physique still. But soon enough, them snapping out of their, admiration and shaking the offered, hand.
Tup had no doubt the four of them would not become really, really, really good and close— friends!
Fishing so totally hard? (Or perhaps not!)
'They say pining is like fishing, equally as tedious?'
Tech was a loner. Never really having found the perfect match for himself. Sure there had been several suitors. Echo and Hunter, two of his best friends who were also a couple having tried to convince Tech he would fit well with them. The three easily to become a throuple. But, even if the sex had worked quite well between the three, Tech had found a more permanent arrangement somewhat tedious to maintain. Having felt like the odd man out mostly after the sex was done with. And so, the friendship had remained, with some benefits thrown in the mix.
And so, having taken his holiday once again. Alone. Getting to the small cottage by the seaside, enjoying his time. Alone. The time and place where he could read, do research and perhaps even work on some new projects. Although those, he had decided to leave behind for now as he really needed the rest for once. His brain never really shutting down and perhaps finally, he would have the chance to do just that. To shut his brain for a moment even. Perhaps to meditate? A recommendation from one of his colleagues. Oh well.
Tech was lying in his hammock rather comfortably. Fully submerged in some wild and tall tale about fishermen and merpeople. A book recommended by one of the locals while Tech having ventured to a small market to get some necessities before getting to the cottage wherefrom he did not need to move or meet other people in several days. Simply be there by himself. In most perfect solitude. Just the way he had planned.
Tech was snoring. His mind in a deep state of a dream.
Conjuring up all kinds of images from the book he had read to be played there. Especially those more juicy parts where the merpeople, mermen rather had lured the unsuspecting fishermen into their traps with their most gorgeous singing. Their vocals matching no other in the galaxy. And then used the men for their own devious purposes. Sex! Not that the human males in the stories had complained. At least not according to said author.
Of course Tech had chucked it all off as pure fiction, fantasy in flight by the author of the supposedly collected tales as told by the survivors? Alas, Tech had been interested. And so now as he dreaming about it. His own fantasies coming alive, the mermen luring him into their traps. Doing all kinds of wonderful things to the technician in his rather vivid dreams.
Tech was well taken care of in the dreams. Swimming with the fishies among other things. His human form gone, having the distinctive lower part of a merman and the lovely wide fin to go with the ensemble. As they all rolled and frolicked under the high seas, Tech felt so alive, so in his skin. Finally belonging. And at night fall, the merman coming up to the beaches making hot naked human form love with each other.
Tech was woken up suddenly. The wondrous dream leaving his thoughts as he blinked, adjusting his goggles while trying to focus his eyes. It was already dark, the night having fallen while Tech had been dreaming away in his comfy hammock.
What he really had not excepted was to have company.
Four naked men? The lot sitting by his side on the grassy ground. One of them having his book in their hands checking it out in the soft automatic lights having gone on in the small garden of his rented cottage.
"Wha— what's going on?" Tech was still very confused, thinking he must've been dreaming still. And so pinching himself to figure it out. It hurt!
"You're not dreaming." One of the four nearest to him spoke.
"I'm not?"
"No, we're quite real." The second one confirmed, getting up from the ground and started walking towards Tech's hammock. Leaving nothing to the imagination as he moved closer.
"I… um… who are you and why… are you all naked?" Tech wasn't convinced this wasn't part of one of his more erotic dreams he conjured up when wanting to get in the mood before some self-service.
"Well," The one standing closest to him responded. "It's simply because we don't need clothing as we live in the sea."
Tech must've glared at him with a rather odd expression on his face, causing the butt naked man to chuckle fondly.
"We're mermen." The other two had moved closer to Tech too the four of them standing around him now.
"The what now?" Tech was quickly up and in a seating position, still not sure he wasn't dreaming as this was all getting way too bizarre, even for him.
"Mermen, sweetheart." One of them sat by his side and placed and arm around Tech.
The first one to having talked moved to sit on the other side of the hammock placing his hand on Tech's lap, the warmth seeping through the thin leisurewear.
"And we have been looking for you a long time, Tech."
Tech blinked, once, twice. Mouth opening and closing a few times, but no words came out.
"It's true. You are the missing part of our quintet."
"I am?" Tech was finally able to speak again.
"Yes, hon, you definitely are." One of them was down on his knees in front of him.
Tech's eyes went from one merman to the other, doing he whole round alas seeing only adoring glances all around.
"I um… so what happens next?" Was all Tech could ask, deciding to go with the flow, as if this was all a dream, it really did not matter now did it?
"Well, we would very much like for you to join us. Back there." He motioned towards the waters.
"Go with you?" Tech was sure he had heard correctly. But the sea? Sure, he had been dreaming about swimming with mermen. But this was a whole other level of… surreal?
"Of course. You dreamt of us, didn't you?"
"I… I did."
"So, you summoned us and here we are, finally having found you."
"I… yes, here you are." Tech thought this was certainly one of more out there dreams he had ever had. And he had had a few of them as well!
"I am the one they call Tup. Their leader of sorts." Tup motioned at his companions.
"I am Seven." The other one sitting beside him said.
"We're Howz and Wolffie." The kneeling men told him.
"Charmed I am sure." Tech did not want to sound as curt as he probably did, but the dream was getting weirder and weirder.
The four mermen or naked men at least, exchanged knowing glances.
"Tech, you, belong with us. You are our mate." The one called Tup told Tech then.
Tech's eyes flew wide as he heard the words. Sure, he wanted to be single. But, he had also wanted someone in his life despite that. Even if he had not found that among humans… perhaps the mermen would… oh well.
"You, Tech, are one of us." Howz tried to assure him.
There was a moment of silence. Tup deciding to show rather than tell Tech.
"Come on love, we'll show you." Offering his hand, Tech stared at it for a moment before taking the offered hand, letting Tup and Seven guide him as they walked towards the water line. The other two following suit.
Tech looked at the calm dark waters and back at his new friends.
"Please, allow me." Tup was already on the job, releasing Tech off of his garments with Seven assisting him.
Soon enough, Tech stood there with the other four. As naked as the day he had emerged to this very world.
"Come one then." Seven offered, him and Tup leading Tech into the sea.
As the four of them had reached waist high, something started to happen. Tech could see the tail fins emerging out of nowhere. Howz and Wolffie already splashing the water close by the three and then, Tech felt it too. His legs. Something was happening to them And then, touching himself he felt the scaly skin where his legs used to be.
"Come on Tech! Join us!" Tup and Seven both urged taking a dive into the deep waters.
Tech looked at the four of them, coming up to the surface. Their strong wide fins splashing the waters. He let out a breath he had not realised to be holding and then deciding to take the plunge. Literally. Tech dove into the water, realising he was able to see properly not to mention breathe under water as well. Surely, a bizarre dream! Or was it?
The four other mermen joined at Tech's side. With happy smiles on their faces, they started swimming deeper into their watery world with their missing piece of their puzzle securely with them. Tech.
