Ino sits nervously on the edge of her bathroom sink, her heart pounding with anxious anticipation as she awaits the outcome of her pregnancy test. Time seems to stretch indefinitely as she anxiously watches the test strip, praying for a negative result. Thoughts of uncertainty and fear swirl through her mind, questioning whether she is ready for the life-altering responsibility that comes with being a mother.
Suddenly, the result becomes visible, and to her dismay, a bold, undeniable positive sign stares back at her. Panic engulfs her being, suffocating any semblance of calm she had left. The weight of the situation crashes down upon her, and her mind races with a thousand questions. How will she handle this unexpected twist of fate? Will she be able to provide for a child? Will her dreams and aspirations be forever put on hold? Doubts and worries consume her, overshadowing any glimmer of joy that might have emerged in this moment.
Now, Ino is going to inform Sai about the result, and she hopes that Sai will have a similar understanding, as she is not yet ready to have a baby.
As Ino takes a deep breath, she sighs, and her shoulders slump ever so slightly. "I can't believe it... I'm pregnant..." She looks up at Sai, with a mixture of shock and resignation. "I'm not ready for this... I don't know if I can do it, I don't even know how I'm going to afford all the medical costs and baby supplies" Tears well up in her eyes, and she begins to cry. "I'm sorry Sai, I'm just so scared and overwhelmed right now"
Ino is still in her third year of college, while Sai is one year ahead of her. Neither of them has a stable career yet. Ino acknowledges their recklessness regarding sex—she frequently skips taking her morning pills and ignores her friends' recommendations to use a birth control method. Sai anticipated this situation, but deep down, he desires to have the baby and wants to persuade Ino to keep it.
Sai is just as shocked as she is. This wasn't what he was expecting to hear today. But he wants to do the right thing here. He walks up to Ino, and wraps his arms around her as she cries into his shoulder. He's not sure what to say, but he does his best to be supportive.
"Don't worry. We'll figure this out together. We'll do whatever it takes to be good parents for this baby. We'll make it work, I promise."
Ino's eyes blaze with fury as she looks up at Sai, tears still streaking her face. "How dare you say that!" she exclaims. "You have no idea what it's like to be pregnant. I'm the one who has to carry this baby for nine months and give birth to it. I'm the one who has to sacrifice my body for this baby. And yet you act like this is some simple, easy decision that anyone can just make! It's not! It's complicated and messy and difficult, and I am not ready for it!"
Sai remains calm throughout what Ino has to say. He understands her feelings and fears, but he still wants to have this baby. Ino's right, he could never understand what she's going through, and what the pregnancy is doing to her body, but he believes that the two of them can still make it work. After all, Ino has always been the person he can rely on the most, and he wants to be there to support her through this journey. "Just trust me. This is the right thing to do," he insists.
Now tears of rage are flowing down Ino's face, and she stares at Sai, hate in her eyes. "No!" she yells. "The right thing would be to get rid of this baby. We've made a mistake, and we can't undo it - but we can do the second best thing, and that's not forcing an innocent child into this world to be raised by two people who aren't ready to be parents."
Sai sighs. He understands why Ino feels the way she does, but he still wants to keep this baby. He knows it won't be easy, and it's not the ideal situation, but he believes that they can make it work. He knows that he is going to have to work hard to provide for this child, and he is prepared to do whatever it takes to give this child the best possible life. He looks at Ino, trying to convey his sincerity. "I promise you, I will do everything in my power to provide for this baby and be the best father that I can be."
Ino looks at Sai, her anger quickly turning into despair as she shakes her head. "I can't do this Sai," she whispers softly, tears rolling down her cheeks. "I just can't. I know that you believe we can make it work, and I know that you're determined to be the best possible father for this baby. But I just feel so..." her voice trembles with emotion as she searches for the right words to express her feelings. "...helpless... I feel like I don't have any choice in this matter, and it's just making me so sad..."
Sai wraps his arms around Ino, pulling her into a hug. He hates to see her like this, and he wants to do whatever he can to help her feel better. He rubs her back, his hand comforting and reassuring, as he speaks soft and compassionate words in her ear.
"We'll get through this together. I believe in us, and I'm not going to let anything stand in our way. We will keep this baby, and we'll do everything we need to give him or her the best possible life. Ok?"
Seeing how far Sai is willing to go to keep this baby, Ino is filled with rage. "Don't tell me what to do," she shouts, pushing Sai away from her. "This is my body, and my decision, and I don't want this baby anymore! Can't you understand that?" She walks a few steps away from Sai, and then she turns back around, her eyes narrowed. "And this isn't just about the baby. This is about our relationship," she says, her fingers curling into fists. "I can't believe that you would ask me to do this."
Now Ino is more angry than ever, and she doesn't hold back with her words. "I can't do this anymore," she yells at Sai. "I can't stay in this relationship when all you care about is this goddamn baby. I'm tired of arguing with you all the time, and I just can't stand being with you anymore!" Tears are streaming down her face as she screams out everything she's been holding inside, and then she turns and runs away, disappearing down the street.
Sai is stunned by Ino's outburst. He has never seen her like this before—so angry, and so upset. He knows how much she's hurting, how much this decision is affecting her, and how much she's struggling with this. And for the first time in a very long time, he's at a loss for words. He's not sure what to do or say in this situation.
Ino is still shaking, crying uncontrollably as she runs down the street. She's so mad at Sai, and so sad about everything that's happening. She just can't understand why he's not being more understanding of her situation. If he truly loves her, why can't he just support her decision? She doesn't want this baby, and she doesn't want to lose Sai, but it looks like there's just no more keeping them both. She turns a corner, and suddenly stops, collapsing onto the ground against the wall, sobbing helplessly
Time passes slowly as Sai tries to wrap his head around what just happened. He's in a state of utter shock and sadness. He knows that this situation is complicated and difficult, but he never thought that this would end in a breakup. As he sits there, he can't help but wonder how he could have done things differently, and if there's anything he can do now to fix the situation. He knows he has a lot of thinking to do.
A few hours pass, and Ino is still sitting there on the street, sobbing. She doesn't even care how she looks anymore, she's just so upset and broken. She can't stop thinking about everything that's happened, and she doesn't know what to do. Just the thought of losing Sai feels like the worst thing in the world. She's scared and lost and hopeless, and she doesn't know how to go on from here. How did her life get to this point? And does this really have to be the end?
Sai is still in his room deep in thought. This whole day has been a complete and utter mess. He knows that he needs to find Ino and try to fix things, but he's not even sure where to start. Finally, he gets up, and grabs his coat. He heads out of his apartment, and starts walking down the streets, looking for Ino. He remembers that they used to hang out in the park a lot, so that's where he first heads to. He starts walking slowly, his eyes searching for any sign of Ino.
Feeling alone and hopeless, Ino has been sitting here for what seems like hours. She can't stop thinking about Sai and their relationship, about the baby and everything that's happened today. She doesn't even notice the random man who starts to approach her, and when he starts to flirt with her, she feels a sudden shock of surprise, but then a wave of anger washes over her and she starts screaming at him to leave her alone. "Get lost, weirdo!" she yells at him. "I'm not interested in your stupid pick-up lines. I have more important things to worry about right now, ok?!"
Ino's screams immediately catch Sai's attention. He turns to see where the noise is coming from, and his eyes widen in shock as he sees the stranger, now touching Ino. This is not good at all. This man is a creep, and he needs to get him away from Ino, and quick.
He quickly runs over to them, and he sees Ino's face, filled with terror and pain. He glares at the man, his fists balled up, ready to fight if he has to.
"Hey! Get your hands off of her!"
The stranger sneers at Sai, his eyes filled with resentment and malevolence. "You got a problem?" he asks in a mocking tone, his hands still grasping at Ino's clothing. "Maybe your girlfriend wants to have some fun." The man laughs cruelly, his eyes flashing menacingly. Ino looks even more terrified now, as she tries to pull away from him, but he refuses to let go. Now, Sai has no doubt that this man is a danger to Ino, and he has to act quickly to get her out of this situation.
The man's words fill Sai with fury, and he immediately springs into action. He rushes forward and punches the man on the face, his fist moving as fast as a bullet. He's not going to let this man hurt Ino in any way. After the punch, he pushes the man away from Ino and stands between him and Ino, still holding a fighting stance.
"You better leave while you still can," Sai warns him in a cold voice. "And don't you even think about hurting me or her again."
The man looks at Sai, his face bleeding from Sai's powerful punch. A look of shock and surprise flashes across the stranger's face, before he quickly regains his composure, his eyes now filled with rage and hatred. He turns and rushes at Sai, fists raised in a fighting stance, preparing to brawl. "You think you're so tough, huh?" he grunts, his voice hoarse and deep. "well, bring it on!" he yells, the two are about to get into a violent fist-fight on the street!
Sai doesn't hesitate to protect Ino, and he quickly jumps into a fighting pose of his own, ready to go toe-to-toe with this man. Even though the man is bigger and stronger than him, Sai has been through plenty of fights before, and he knows he can hold his own. He quickly maneuvers around the man's attacks, and with incredible agility, he lands a hard punch right on the man's jaw, before following up with a sharp kick to the stomach. The man falls to the ground, defeated. Sai turns back to Ino, making sure that she's okay.
Ino feels her heart racing, and she can't help but let out a shaky breath of relief at seeing Sai stand between her and the stranger and come out victorious in the fight. "You… thank you, Sai," she says breathlessly, her eyes full of gratitude. "That was amazing. I have no idea how you were able to do that." She smiles softly at Sai, feeling an immense sense of gratitude and relief, and the fear that she'd been feeling starts to recede, this is when the question dawns on her. "...How did you know that I needed help?"
Sai smiles reassuringly at Ino and shrugs his shoulders. "No problem," he says. "I just did what any good boyfriend would do. And...don't worry, I'll always be there for you if you need it. That's a part of what it means to be in a relationship after all." he chuckles. After a moment, his face softens, and he asks, with genuine concern. "Hey, are you OK though? That guy must have scared you pretty bad"
Ino is still shaking a bit, but she's breathing more calmly now that she knows that the threat's gone. She nods her head as Sai speaks, her eyes filled with gratitude. She's so amazed and touched at how Sai came to her aid, is this what true love is all about? She smiles at Sai, the corners of her mouth curling up into what she hopes is a small, yet genuine smile. "Thank you. You don't know how much I appreciate you being here with me right now. You're-you're more than just a boyfriend... you're my savior."
Sai offers Ino his hand, and she takes it, feeling the reassurance of his touch. "Let's go home," he says gently, and his eyes remain soft and caring as he looks into her eyes. "And then we can talk about this whole pregnancy situation in more detail." He starts walking, inviting Ino to follow him.
Ino nods in agreement, and walks alongside Sai, feeling the comfort and solace of his presence. This is all still hard to wrap her mind around, a baby... can she really do this? She's so scared and confused, but at the same time, there's a warm feeling of hope flickering in her heart. Maybe, maybe with Sai by her side, they can both overcome this challenge together, it will be hard, but she thinks that they can manage. She turns to look at Sai again, and a small smile appears on her face."Yeah...let's go home."
Soon, they get back to their apartment. This whole day has been exhausting, and he knows that Ino definitely needs a moment to breathe and decompress. He leads her to the couch, where she takes a seat, and he proceeds to make her some tea, making sure it's warm and soothing. Then, he sits down next to her on the couch with the tea, and he faces her, a serious yet compassionate look on his face.
"Alright," he says softly, taking her hands in his own. "Let's talk about the pregnancy. Are you feeling any less overwhelmed now?"
Ino nods, her eyes still red from all the crying she did earlier in the day, but the tea has a soothing effect on her mind and body, and now she's feeling more calm and focused. She wants to make the best possible decision for the baby, and that means she has to come to some kind of resolution here. "I feel a little better now," she says softly, taking a deep breath and looking at Sai with a small smile. "But this is still..." She trails off, not knowing how to finish the thought... "a lot to take in..."
Sai nods in understanding. "I understand," he says. "This whole situation is pretty overwhelming, especially considering everything that's happened today. I get it." he says, trying to keep a sympathetic tone in his voice. He wants to be there for Ino throughout all of this. "But, the most important thing—the only thing that really matters here—is what you want. So, what is it that you want to do in this situation? How can I support you and make you feel better?"
The more Sai talks, the more calm and relaxed Ino starts to feel. After Sai's heroic rescue of her, she can't help but feel a little bit hopeful about her situation, maybe they really can make it all work. She looks at Sai, and smiles softly. "Well, you've been very supportive so far, just by being here with me and hearing me out, it feels like you've made it a lot easier to handle this whole situation. So thank you. I really appreciate your support, Sai. But.. that still leaves the question of what to do about the baby..."
Sai returns Ino's smile, feeling a wave of relief wash over him at the sight. He's so relieved to see her smile again, and he's glad that his words have helped her feel a little better...even if the hard questions still remain. He can see the worry in her eyes, and the concern on her face. He puts a hand on her stomach, gently rubbing it as if trying to comfort it from the inside.
He then speaks with sincere words of compassion and love. "Whatever you decide, I'll support you. What do you want to do?"
The kindness in Sai's words, and the love he shows to Ino and her baby-to-be is enough to tug on her heartstrings. This is the kind of man she's always wanted by her side, and now he's showing her that he'll always be there for her, no matter what. Ino looks at Sai, and in that moment she's filled just overwhelmed with gratitude and love for him, and an absolute sense of certainty "I want to keep the baby..." she says softly. "Are you sure you're ok with that, Sai?"
Just hearing Ino's words make Sai smile again. He's so overcome with happiness and relief that he jumps up and gives Ino a powerful embrace, kissing her all over her face. "Of course I'm ok with it! I'll always be ok with you and our baby." he says with the biggest smile possible. "It might be hard at times, but nothing is impossible, especially with two parents who love each other and their child. And I know that we'll be great parents, because we have great love for our child." he says, filled with hope and belief.
The sudden burst of affection from Sai takes Ino by surprise, but she can't help but smile and feel her heart melt with excitement, relief, and joy. She holds Sai tightly, feeling her worries and doubts melt away at his words of love and support, and without thinking she leans in to kiss him softly on the lips, a radiant smile beaming across her face when she pulls away. "You're right. We'll be great parents," she says softly, her heart still fluttering from all the love and happiness she's feeling right now. "We'll make this work."
The smile on his face doesn't go away as he kisses Ino back. He gives her a long, passionate kiss, savoring every moment in between them. The feeling of love and excitement is like a warm wave crashing across him. There are so many things to plan now and do, but in this moment he cares about nothing else, only their love and this tiny new life growing inside Ino. "Of course we will," he promises her. "We're together, and we have everything we need to make this work. And I'll be right by your side the whole way."
Ino leans in again, holding him in that moment. Sai's words are filled with such warmth and sincerity, and they send her into a state of pure joy, where all the sadness and anger and fear she was feeling earlier today melts away in their love and excitement in this moment. Ino has never been more certain that there is anyone else she'd rather have by her side in this new adventure of being a parent to their baby. She smiles softly at Sai, and a single tear runs down her cheek. "I love you." she whispers softly. "Thank you."
"I love you too," he says softly, wiping her tear away with his thumb. "Everything is going to be ok. I promise." he says, the sincerity of his voice completely genuine. He gives her hand a delicate squeeze, looking her in the eyes to express just how much he loves her and the kid growing in her belly. "Just remember, no matter how hard it gets...I'll be by your side through all of it." He smiles and kisses her softly once again. His whole face and expression is filled with kindness, compassion, and love. "And please, never leave me that recklessly again.."
Ino chuckles and nods. "I won't, I promise," she says, her voice filled with love. "From this moment on, let's promise to always stick together, no matter what, ok?" She smiles softly at Sai, and the joy she feels at this moment is palpable, like a sparkling jewel. Ino wants nothing more than to just keep this feeling forever, and she feels so lucky to have someone like Sai in her life, someone who will always be there, who will always be by her side, no matter what.
