Ai Hoshino always wanted to know what love felt like. It was a natural curiosity with her past in being raised in an orphanage. It was also with that same background why she never bothered to use the door chains in the apartment she and her two children stayed at until the big dome concert.

This led to a fan she knew to openly greet her with not only white roses, but a gruesome stab to the abdominal aorta with a knife the attacker hid. Ai bled furiously as the attacker shouted at how much she lied to him and other fans alike for keeping her kids a secret from the public eye.

Her response to all this was... rather calm to say the least.

Being the idol she was, she was no stranger to lies. Lies were what made most of her entire career as an idol of Strawberry Productions. Though she only wished those lies would someday lead to better truths, and most of all... love.

Guess the world was too cruel to even care about dirty liars.

The rest of the confrontation didn't last very long as the begrudged fan was conflicted after being revealed that a gift he had given to the idol was one she still displayed in her room. With mixed feelings, he screamed and ran like the coward he was.

Good... he didn't harm my baby boy... what a relief...

As thoughts reached her mind, her head started to spin as she fell back against door hard, startling her son named Aqua.

"Ai!" The boy screamed as he ran to her side. "I called an ambulance! You're gonna-!"

"Shh..." Ai quieted her son as she patted his head before hugging him close. "It's okay... I only let my guard down is all... kind of wished I knew about this kind of stuff back home... silly me..."

"Don't speak!" Aqua screamed as his eyes widened at the damage. "The blood... it won't stop... shit..."

"Aqua...," Ai whispered as she held him closer. "This is... the end for me... I'm sorry..." The boy gasped as Ai stroked his hair with her soft hands. "You okay...? You're not hurt... right?"

"I'm not...," the boy grieved as tears started to spill from his eyelids.

"That's good...," Ai thanked out loud as her eyes started to get heavy. She wondered if the dome concert would get canceled without her appearance. It would be very heartbreaking knowing she wouldn't get the chance to perform, but hopefully her fans would understand in the end.

She only wished she wouldn't have to abandon her own children so soon.

"What's going on...?" Another voice from behind the door she rested against spoke with short breaths. "Hey... answer me..."

"No Ruby... don't come in...," Aqua ushered with the best voice he could muster, but his twin sister wouldn't take it without answers.

"Why...?!" Ruby screamed out with tears also forming on her features but not before settling down the moment her mother spoke again.

"Ruby... that dance at the pre-school event was wonderful...," Ai smiled as she recalled how her own daughter aspired to someday be an idol like her. It was heartwarming... but also painful considering she wouldn't get the chance to see her outshine the competition.

As Ai continued speaking about Ruby's future, she looked off into the distance with a look of longing. At that moment, all that she wanted to do was be there for her own children as they grew up to take on the entertainment industry by storm. With her, as their mother, giving all the support she could muster.

"I may have not been the best mother... but I'm still happy that I was able to bring you into this world..." Ai Hoshino smiled as she soon found it to be the perfect time to finally say those words that she has put off until now. Though, she also had a bit of hesitation.

I've always wanted to tell them... but will it be enough?

In her heart and soul, Ai yearned to love her children without it being a fabrication of her own lies. She hoped that her words would reach them in her final moments as an idol and as a mother, but there was still the nagging feeling of her mind that told her it would be hopeless.

If I told them... would they still remember me?

Being her children, it'd only be natural... but would they want to remember someone who died like this?

Would they still love me back?

Her mind was starting to dwindle as she felt her life draining from her very being, so she'd need to do it quickly.

It was now or never to tell them how she truly felt.

"I..."

Will words be enough?

What...?

Her eyes slightly widened as she heard a voice speak in her mind. It was startling at first, but with how heavy her eyes felt she could only slowly look around before spotting something... peaking its tiny white head through the door the attacker left through.

"C... Cat...?"

"Cat...?" Aqua blinked before he looked in the direction her mother stared at. He only found nothing as an answer as he suddenly started getting worried even more. "Stay with me Ai... just a little longer...!"

"But... the door... what...?" Ai blinked, though painfully, as she looked at the strange white cat 'thing' that casually strolled inside her apartment before the voice spoke again.

Will words be enough for your lies to finally become the truth?

Ai shuddered as the voice, though sounding quite cute, resonated with her in a way that she felt all too familiar with. She held her son tightly as she stared daggers at the creature that entered her home.

"Stay... away...," Ai coughed up more blood as she continued to hold her son despite his plea of agony.

"I said don't talk...!" He screamed though more saddened then before. "Any more and you'll...!"

As her son tried more to urge his mother to not push herself, the cat soon sat upright as its tail swayed from left to right. The smile it worn never leaving the beings' features.

Ai Hoshino. Do you seek for your lies to finally become the truth?

It only took the idol a few seconds to realize that the voice she was hearing was what was sitting right in front of her, and the thing that her son couldn't even see. Her mind raced with thoughts on what this thing was, but with very few moments to spare she smiled bitterly as her eyes were about to fail on her.

More than anything in the world.

The white cat tilted its head before it spoke into her mind with great enthusiasm.

Then form a contract with me, and become a magical girl!

"A... magical girl...?" Ai whispered as she was only moments before conscious would fade away.

If I do... that would mean...

If you wish to change your terrible fate, all you have to do is make a wish.

A wish...

She would not hesitate a moment later before she silently spoke her final words just out of the hearing of her children.

"I wish..."

Meanwhile, Aqua looked up before he felt a bloody hand go to his left cheek. Ai looked happy... but they soon looked cold as the light left her own tear soaked eyes, and her hand fell limp to her side.

"Ai...?" He stared and it felt that the world was crushing him all around. "Ai..."His sister cried from behind the door furiously, but all he could do was shudder as he stared at his now dead mother.

Ai Hoshino, was dead.

I have heard your wish, Ai Hoshino.

Unbeknownst to the children, the creature known as Kyubey started the process of extracting the idols' soul into a what it would call a 'soul gem'. With a small purple glow, the gem manifested itself straight out of her chest before a much brighter light began to shine from it.

Awaken to your new destiny as a magical girl!

Aqua was about to shed more tears until he felt a hand clasp his cheek again which immediately startled him. Gasping, he looked straight up to find something that defied everything he would have known from his past life.

Staring at him now, his mother smiled once more... her eyes finding new life as they sparked with new found resolve like a reborn star of the night.

"I'm sorry... did I worry you...?" Ai asked before she pulled him back into her embrace. "It's alright... I'm gonna be fine now..."

"Ai...?" Aqua blinked in surprise as all sense of logic defied what he was currently witnessing. Looking at her stomach, the wound had closed itself up mysteriously at random. "But... how...?"

"Don't worry about it..." Ai continued to hold her son close as tears swelled in her eyes. "There's no way... I would die like this..."

It was with those simple words that Aqua began the water works into her shoulder. "AI...!"

This caused a startled scream from her sister that was still behind the door. "What's happening now...?! Aqua... tell me... please!"

"Ruby..."

Hearing her mother speak again, Ruby gasped before holding her hands to her mouth. "Mom...? You're...!"

"Yes... mommy is going to be fine..." Ai sighed in relief as she soon heard her daughter cry out in tears of joy as she looked back at her son. "Though... it might get a little weird in the future..."

"What do you mean?" Aqua immediately asked before he felt his mom pick him up off the floor, and she herself stood up at the same time that gave Ruby the only opportunity to open the door and see how she was.

"Mom, are you... oh god..." Ruby gasped as she saw the amount of blood that was spilled on the floor, and the still apparent wound on her stomach still being visible.

"Sorry about the mess..." Ai soon put her son down right where his sister was before she smiled brightly as she felt her body gain more of her energy back. "Oh... before I forget..." Turning back to the both of them, Ai Hoshino hugged the both of them close as she finally felt she had the strength to tell them how she felt.

This is it; no more lies this time.

"Ruby... Aqua..."

With this wish, I'll be there for you two.

"I love you..."

As an idol, and now a magical girl... I'll love the both of you until the very end!

While she and her children hugged, the ambulance would soon arrive a moment later with Ichigo and Miyako not to far behind with extreme worry. Much to their surprise, it seemed the wound hadn't gone too deep but that the idol would still need to visit the hospital for examinations and such.

Meaning that the dome concert would be canceled as Ai recovered before it would be rescheduled at a later date. Most of her fans were relieved at this news while others on social media spat out how silly it was for her to have been stabbed the way she did.

In the case of the magical being known as Kyubey, it was the start of a very promising partnership for the benefit of the continued survival of the universe.
