Chapter 5: Reaching Viridian town

Hiro and Akane arrived at the verdant town. The town was neither too large nor too small, but it appeared more developed than Pallet Town. Upon looking around, both could see numerous houses of various sizes. They took a moment to survey their surroundings. There were several shops selling produce such as vegetables and fruits. Other stores sold clothing items. A large building with a Poke Ball symbol on its front caught their attention; it was painted blue and white, indicating that it was a Pokémon Center. However, they didn't have time to explore or purchase any goods. Using their Pokedexes, they knew the location of the Pokémon Center, so they hurried there.

After some time, they reached their destination. A large building with a Pokeball logo on it stood before them. The building was red and white, and the words 'Pokemon Center' were written on it. They both looked at each other and nodded, then walked inside. Unlike how it appeared in the anime or games, the Pokemon Center wasn't small; rather, it was quite large, resembling a grand hotel. The building had a total of three floors. On the first floor, just a few steps ahead, was the reception area where Nurse Joy sat waiting for trainers who needed assistance with their injured Pokemon. Both of them headed towards her.

When they reached her, "Excuse me miss. Can you tell me if any patient was brought here by Officer Jenny? He also has Pikachu. And an orange-haired girl with them," Akane asked the nurse Joy. The nurse looked at both Hiro and Akane before replying, "Yes. A patient just as you described is here. He was brought here by Officer Jenny. He is currently being tested on the second floor, room no. 35. However, he isn't allowed to have any visitors yet. So, you will have to wait until he wakes up. My sister is taking care of Pikachu. And that orange-haired girl you described, I suppose her name is Misty. She is with Officer Jenny there, and she already informed me about the other two trainers who are coming. She also told me to inform you that she is waiting for you two to meet her in room no. 34." Nurse Joy answered their queries. "Thanks. We are going there right now," Akane said. "Nurse Joy, could you please check and treat my Pokémon, please?" Hiro asked. "Yes, sure, just leave them here," Nurse Joy offered. Hiro took out his two Pokéballs containing Khalasi and Aqua and handed them over to

After some searching, they both found Room No. 34. They slowly knocked on the door and sometime later, Misty opened it. "Hey you two are finally here. Come in," Misty said. They both got inside the room; it was not that big, probably because it's meant for just one person, but it's wasn't small either. Inside the room, on a bed, Officer Jenny was sitting. She looked at them and started talking, "So I am taking that you are friends of Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town." "Yes. But how did you know? I am sure we haven't told her because we don't have time back there," Akane asked, even though they had a pretty good idea how she knew. "You see, trainers' Pokedexes also provide them as their identification. So, I just checked his Pokedex. It's tells that he became a Pokemon trainer just today," Officer Jenny replied. "Oh," Akane said.

Back to the topic. First, tell me about yourself and how do you know Ash Ketchum? Officer Jenny asked. My name is Hiro Hitogashi. Pallet Town is also my hometown. Me and Ash started our journey today. And as Hiro mentioned earlier, my name is Akane Gardner. We were supposed to start our journey together, but for some unknown reason, Ash went ahead of us. When we found out that Ash had gone ahead of us, we tried to catch up with him quickly so we could continue our journey together. But we found him with this girl over here. So that's what happened. Okay, you're clear. Just show me your Pokédexes. Officer Jenny said. They both quickly took out their Pokédexes and showed them to Officer Jenny. After checking them, she replied, "Okay, you're clear. I will come back tomorrow when Ash wakes up." And with that, she left the room.

"So your names are Hiro and Akane? Nice to meet you, my name is Misty. Please don't refer to me as 'that girl' or 'this girl.'" She said, looking at Hiro. "Sorry about that," Hiro apologized. "No, it's fine," Misty replied. "So, what are you guys planning on doing now?" Misty asked. "First, we're going to take each of them to their respective rooms to rest. Afterwards, we'll train our Pokémon until Ash wakes up," Hiro replied. Akane simply nodded in agreement. "Okay, then I'll see you later," Misty said before leaving the room.

They both went where they first talked with Nurse Joy. "How may I help you, sir?" Nurse Joy said in a very polite manner. "Ma'am, can we both have a room for some time here in the Pokémon Center?" Akane asked. "Just show me your Pokedexes and you can have one room each," Nurse Joy replied. "Yes, please." And with that, both Hiro and Akane handed over their Pokedexes to Nurse Joy. She placed them on a device in front of her. That device scanned both Pokedexes. After checking them, Nurse Joy replied, "Yes, you can have a room here in the Pokémon Center. And since you're both Pokémon trainers, both of you can stay here for three days for free of charge, and food and other services will also be free for three days. And we can help heal your Pokémon anytime here." They both nodded. In this world, the Pokémon League is so much favorable towards Pokémon trainers; therefore, they pay for any Pokémon trainer who wants to stay at the Pokémon Center for three days free of charge to encourage Pokémon trainers.

Hiro got Room 44 and Akane got Room 45. They both went to their respective rooms. It was already dark outside. They had been running all day. Now, they were both very tired. All they wanted to do was sleep. Whatever needed to be done could wait until tomorrow. They both slept peacefully in their beds.
