Seeing my boy Jake after all this time made my heart swell with pride. He's a smart kid with a lot of potential. I know he's going to do great things here at the College of Xandar. And Luna, his girlfriend with powers just like him, she seems like a great girl. I can tell they're happy together.
But as much as I love seeing Jake hard being away from them for so long. He my family, and family is everything to me. That's why I made sure to remind Jake that if he ever needs time off, he can come home to be with us for a while. Even if it's just a short visit, we'll make it count.
I hugged my son tightly, feeling the tears well up in my eyes. I tried to be tough, but it's not always easy when you have someone you love so much so far away. But seeing how happy and independent Jake has become, it gives me hope that he's going to be alright.
"I am so proud of you Jake we all are." He says
"dad." He says
"yes I say."
"I am free I am?" He says with fear
"yes son you are."
I left with a bittersweet feeling in my heart, missing my son already. But I know he's in good hands here, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for him. Maybe one day he'll join us on our next adventure, fighting alongside the rest of the guardians of the galaxy. But until then, I'm just happy knowing he's living his best life, and I'll always be here for him whenever he needs me.
