The morning sun cast its honey golden rays over Emerald City, and Sonic the Hedgehog drove into the Damian Park neighborhood in his cobalt blue 1970 Chevy Camaro Z/28, blasting "Workin' Hard, Playin' Hard" by Ted Nugent over the stereo. He wasn't alone in his rockin' excursion, for Rouge the Bat and Shadow the Hedgehog were also with him. It wasn't often that the Ultimate Life Form accompanied the Blue Blur – if at all – and he was not afraid to voice his qualms regarding the situation:

"Ugh, I still can't believe I agreed to go with the Faker."

"Shaddy, Amy's really been looking forward to seeing you!" said Rouge. "Try putting on a happy face, hm?"

"She's right, man!" said Sonic. "Smilin' feels just as good as gettin' 25,000 Mobiums!"

"Hmph, I'll feel good when I no longer have to be in this godforsaken car with you."

Rouge frowned. "Shaddy, you've been doing well on this car ride. Don't blow it now, OK?"

Shadow sighed. "OK."

Rouge smiled. "And no angry sighs! This is gonna be a happy occasion!"

"Shad, Rouge, we're here!"

Sonic put the Camaro in Neutral, put on the parking brake, shut off the engine and hopped out, with Shadow and Rouge following. They opened the trunk and pulled out various foods, and after Sonic shut the trunk, they headed for the front door of the two-story home they'd parked at, where Rouge knocked on the door.

"Who is it?" asked a familiar female voice.

"Amy honey, it's Sonic, Shadow and I!"

Shortly thereafter, the door opened, and Amy Rose burst out gleefully:

"SHADOW!"

Amy gave Shadow a big hug and kiss, and despite his surprise, he gladly returned the gesture. Ever since she'd accidentally glomped him during the Space Colony ARK adventure, he'd had the biggest crush on her, but until recently, he'd been too shy to admit it. In the meantime, Sonic and Rouge clasped their hands together and let out a simultaneous "awww" before Rouge kissed Sonic as well. Once everyone was done with their little passion fest, Amy gave hugs to Sonic and Rouge, and then beckoned everyone inside:

"Come on in!"

Sonic, Rouge and Shadow grabbed their foods and followed Amy into the living room.

"So Ames, what did ya wanna watch with us again?" asked Sonic.

"You'll love it! It's a show called Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, aka Miraculous Ladybug or just Miraculous."

Sonic stroked his chin. "I heard of it, but I don't think I've watched it…"

"You'll love it!"

"I've seen some cute fan art of the characters, but I don't know what the show's about," said Rouge.

Amy raised her index finger. "So basically, it's about these two high school kids, Adrien and Marinette, and they have these magical artifacts that they can use to transform into the superheroes Cat Noir and Ladybug, respectively. They use their powers to battle the evil Hawk Moth, who tries to turn people into villains using magic butterflies called 'akumas'."

Shadow crossed his arms. "That show sounds like it was developed while the creator was on drugs. Nevertheless, I'll give it a try because I love you."

Amy put a hand on Shadow's shoulder. "Shadow, you shouldn't be afraid to try new things! You might find something you really enjoy!"

Rouge put a hand on Shadow's other shoulder. "The pretty pink hedgehog has a point, you know!"

Shadow smacked his palm with the bottom of his fist. "Then let's not waste any time. I wanna watch this show."

Amy wrapped her arm around Shadow. "That's the spirit! So, what did you three bring for snacks?"

"I brought some chips and homemade chili queso dip!" said Sonic.

"I made these heavenly caramel chocolate popcorn clusters!" said Rouge.

"I made some blue raspberry limeade," said Shadow.

Amy clapped her hands. "Sounds delicious! I just made these homemade chicken tenders with different dipping sauces!"

Rouge put a hand on Amy's shoulder. "Amy, my dear, you've won my stomach over!"

Amy giggled. "Glad to hear it! Anyways, let's watch the show!"

All four of them sat on the couch in the living room, Sonic next to Rouge and Amy next to Shadow, with the snacks on a special tray table. Amy fired up Netflix on her PS5 and proceeded to play the first episode of Miraculous. From the moment Marinette Dupain-Cheng introduced herself with the words "In the daytime, I'm Marinette", Sonic, Shadow and Rouge were hooked like a line and sinker. Everyone had their fair share of laughs and "awwws" as they chowed down on snacks and thrilled along to the adventures of Paris' finest superheroes. After watching at least ten episodes, Amy paused.

"So, what did you think?"

Sonic gave a thumbs up. "Ames, that show is some pure dy-no-mite!"

Shadow smiled. "I agree; it was better than I initially thought."

"Now I see why people make so much fan art of it!" said Rouge.

Amy smiled. "I'm glad all of you like it so far!"

"Havin' said that, I gotta be honest about somethin'…" said Sonic.

"Yes, Sonic?"

Sonic scratched his head. "Why is Marinette goin' after Adrien? Don't he seem like the wrong guy for her?"

Amy tilted her head slightly. "Why do you say that?"

"Don't ya see? She's all like 'Uh, duh, I'm Marinette! I love Adrien, so I'm gonna stalk him and be all clumsy! Doy!'"

Rouge laughed when Sonic made fun of Marinette, much to Amy's chagrin:

"HEY! Don't make fun of Marinette! She's a strong, capable female lead!"

"Oh, ya mean Clumsinette?" said Sonic.

Rouge kept laughing. Shadow also had his own take as he grabbed Sonic by the collar:

"Amy's right. Marinette might end up with someone better than Adrien, so I'd reconsider your words before I punch through your eyeball and rip your brain out of your skull."

Sonic smiled nervously as sweat poured down his brow, while Rouge gave another stern warning to Shadow:

"Shaddy, let go of Sonic."

"Or what?"

"Or I'll stop making that apple strudel you love so much!"

Shadow grumbled. "Fine…"

Shadow let go of Sonic.

"Good boy!" Rouge hugged Shadow.

"Anyways, even if Marinette is clumsy, Shadow's right: she does end up with Luka eventually, and I kinda think he's a better match for her than Adrien is," said Amy.

"See, Faker?" said Shadow. "There was no need to insult Marinette like that."

Sonic smiled. "Oh, ya mean like 'Uh, duh, I'm Marinette! I'm so clumsy, I…"

"Amy!" said a mysterious female voice.

Sonic, Amy, Shadow and Rouge hopped off of the couch to see who'd called for the little cherry blossom hedgehog: a red hedgehog who resembled Sonic, but was taller and had blue eyes, plus a white hedgehog who sort of resembled Amy, but had longer spines on her head and green eyes.

"Hi Daddy! Hi Mom!"

Amy waved at her parents, Douglas and Petunia Rose.

"Say dear, who are your friends here?" asked Petunia.

"Mom, this is Sonic, Shadow and Rouge. Guys, these are my parents."

"Hi!"

Sonic, Shadow and Rouge all waved at Douglas and Petunia, who waved back.

"Well, I think this is our cue to boogie," said Sonic. "Ames, wanna keep any of these snacks?"

"Sure! Daddy and Mom might like some!"

"Of course!" said Douglas.

"We sure would!" said Petunia.

"Groovy!" Sonic gave a thumbs up.

"Amy, before we go, I want to thank you for inviting us over." Shadow put his hands over his heart.

"You're very welcome, Shadow!"

Amy and Shadow kissed each other, and everyone else let out a collective "awww" when they witnessed it, especially Douglas and Petunia.

"I can't believe my little Amy is in love, and with a handsome boy, no less!" said Petunia.

"Amy, we're so happy for you!" said Douglas.

"Awww, thanks!" said Amy.

"Bye!"

Sonic, Shadow and Rouge waved to Amy as they headed out.

"Have a good night, everyone!" said Amy.

Overall, this had been one of the most fun days in Amy's life, and she was looking forward to doing this sort of thing again, especially if it involved Shadow.
