Should Have Held on Tighter
Raven stirred awake feeling warm, a familiar warmth of a familiar body, and lips making their way down her back. Blinking her eyes open she recognized this as what was her house. What used to be her house, her bedroom that she shared with...
"Summer. It's too early for this." The bandit whispered against the pillows. They smelled of roses, just like her lover. Summer only proceeded to chuckle and kiss her some more, trailing her hands up Raven's back.
"Typical of you to wake up grumpy and tense. Won't you let me lend you a hand?" Her thumbs pressed hard to work out the knots in Raven's shoulders and Raven let out a long groan. She loved this touch, it always made her head spin no matter what. Reluctantly she turned on her back and was face to face with a naked Summer, "My eyes are up here, Raven."
Raven cracked a smile, only briefly looking up, "And they're very pretty, love. But right now these have my full attention." Her hands trailed a path along Summer's abs, the her hips, her shoulderblades, everywhere she could reach before they settled on the prize: Summer's breasts. "So soft." So familiar, Raven almost choked out.
"Why the long face? I thought you liked these? Or maybe you want something further down hm?" Summer smirked and wiggled her eyebrows, her hips rolling against Raven's thigh.
"Summer... this is a dream, isn't it? You're not real?" She was scared to ask that which she already knew. This was too perfect for someone like her, too happy for someone like her. There's no way that Raven Branwen could live this life.
"...I'm real enough to you." The small break in Summer's voice told Raven the ugly truth she feared. "Raven. We have this. Can't we just enjoy it like we used to?" Summed tried to coax a smile, a chuckle, a glance, anything from the bandit leader, but to no avail.
Instead of letting the dream fade away around them Raven surged forward and locked Summer in place with her arms tightly secured around Summer's back, "Don't go. Please, not again. I can't lose you again Summer, I can't keep doing this." A lot of her dreams have been starting out in a similar way lately.
Complete bliss before a very rude awakening which broke her just a bit more.
Summer sighed and wrapped her arms around Raven's head, her fingers threading into the long, spiky hair. "You know we can't stay like this forever." Raven shook her head no, like a child refusing an order, "You have a life to go back to Raven, and its not here with me."
"And you think what I'm doing now is living?!" Raven grit her teeth as the desperate cry echoed around them. She dug her heels into the bed and bent her knees up, pushing Summer even closer, "It's not living. I haven't lived a single day since... since I lost you. I'm just existing, running, hiding, hurting and I... I don't know how to fix it. Please Summer, tell me how I can fix this."
"You can't fix death Raven."
"Bullshit! You're not dead, I know you're not, I can still feel you... somewhere. Tell me where she's keeping you and I promise, we can do this together, just like old times." Raven finally let her hot tears fall down her face only to have them wiped away when Summer angled her head up for a deep kiss.
She could taste her, clear as day, Summer, her Summer Rose, she was so close to her, yet so far away.
Their lips parted with a mutual grunt, "You should have stopped me then." Raven felt a sharp pain as Grimm-like claws dug into her back but she refused to open her eyes, refused to let go, "Now its too late for me."
Another sharp burst of pain woke Raven up with a silent gasp. She bolted upwards, sweat covering her whole body. She was still in her tent, still in her bandit camp. "Another dream. Fuck, how many is that?" As she leaned back against the bed her back stung, exactly in the places where she felt Summer's claws. "That's new. What are you doing to me now Summer?" She didn't want to get up, didn't want to admit to herself that it was finally time for Raven Branwen to get back into the fight. But until she did, the dreams would continue.
