Cheer up baby, don't you cry
No more tears, it's cheer up time,
Laugh with me and we will be
Happy happy happy!
"Yay!" Lily Loud clapped and cheered as her brother once once again finished her favorite song. As she went back to her toys, the boy noticed the readers.
"Yep, she's still not tired of it," he said. "And frankly, I don't know why she always wants me to do it since Luna has the better voice."
"You know it bro!" Luna shouted from outside.
"But hey, she's worth it. Plus, I don't have to wear that Fenton costume anymore." He paused. "You're probably wondering why. Well, I suppose I can take up a minute or so of your time to explain."
Flashback
Lincoln, dressed in the Fenton costume, had just finish entertaining Lily with her song.
"Fa-Fa! Fa-Fa!" She clapped.
"Awww!" The rest of the sisters stood nearby, swooning at the adorable sight.
"You nailed it again, bro!" Lynn said, giving her brother a jab on the arm.
"Why thank you," Lincoln said, taking a bow. However, when he did so, his Fenton head fell off.
"Incoln?"
Everyone gasped and froze. Lily starred at Lincoln, then turned to look at the head, then back to her brother. It was clear her little baby brain was trying to figure out what was going on.
"Aw man," Lincoln thought, "she's gonna realize Fenton's gone forever and then she's never gonna stop crying!"
Suddenly, Lily let out a little gasp of her own and froze. Her eyes went wide and she opened her mouth.
"Here it comes!"
"FA-FA NUM-NUMED INCOLN!" Lily cried. Grabbing her rattle, she waddled over to the head and began angrily beating it. "BA FA-FA! BA FA-FA!" She yelled angrily, "NO NUM-NUM INCOLN!"
The rest of her siblings stared in shock. They'd never expected this from their sister, at least not at her current age.
"She thought I was in danger," Lincoln realized, "She's trying to protect me."
"BA FA-FA!" Lily ended her assault with a tiny kick and dropped her rattle. She ran towards her brother, arms outstretched. "Incoln! Incoln!"
Lincoln scooped his sister up and hugged her. "Aw Lily, you saved me," he said, his voice filled with genuine gratitude.
Lily wrapped her pudgy arms around his neck.
"Sa Incoln," she muttered, planting a sloppy kiss on his cheek. "Luv Incoln."
Lori snapped a picture. "Ooh, this is literally going on the family album!"
Luan went over and picked up the slightly smashed Fenton head. "So Lily," she said, taking it to the baby. "No more Fenton?"
Lily responded by blowing a raspberry at it.
"I'll take that as a yes," the jester laughed, throwing the head away.
The rest of the siblings gathered around them, Lily yawned and lay her head in Lincoln's shoulder.
"I guess that rescue took it all out of her," Luna said. "Hey bro, you think she still likes that song?"
"Only one way to find out," Lincoln replied.
Flashback ends.
"And she did," the boy said, concluding his tale. He took down at his sister, happily playing with her toys.
"It's funny. You'd never expect that kind of love from someone so young. But hey, I guess that's what families are for."
