Chapter Three.
Deanna crept into bed next to Commander Riker, who was finishing reading through the new crew personal files. She snuggled into his chest and twirled his little hairs around her finger as he placed his arm around her and offered a big grin. She responded in kind. "Found anything interesting?"
"Hmmm" he simply responded, continuing to read.
"Well, for the most part they seem fairly standard, mostly high flying achievers, though three do seem to stand out."
"Oh!" Her interest was peeked and she wondered if he would single out Tarya as one of those.
"It seems we've chosen to place them altogether too. Who was in charge of room allocation this time?"
"Data, he wanted to be involved. I think sometimes he feels a bit left out when it comes to new recruits. It's usually just you and I." Riker grinned again at this revelation.
"Oh he's definitely doing some sort of social experiment. He's got to be."
"Oh, how so?"
"He's placed a half Klingon, half human with anger issues and a bad temper with two extremely shy ensigns who have potential social issues with the most cock sure arrogant jock. They all seem to be exemplary on paper, but all of which seem to have confused their mentors in one way or another".
"Is Tarya one of those?"
"Yes. Have you met her yet?"
"I have. She seems lovely, but I can't read her at all. There is something about her, but I can't fathom what yet. I'm sure it will all be fine though."
"Your right and I'll get to put them through their paces tomorrow." He threw the PADD on the floor and turned to embrace Deanna, grabbing her by the shoulders and climbing on top.
"My Will, you are excited!" She squealed as she grabbed the quilt and pulled it over their heads.
