This chapter is why I decided to go back to the Leaf, to asses his skills which I kept purposefully vague until I could make sure I knew where they would be...

Evaluation

Lee, his opponent in Gai's assessment of him, shot at Kagami with speeds faster than he had during the Chunin exams. Kagami, being far better trained than Naruto, managed to throw himself to the side, kicking out and getting his foot caught by Lee. The boy threw him away, before blasting him with punches that bruised poor Kagami's arms no matter the chakra he forced through his limbs.

Realizing he was not doing his best, Kagami decided to go full offense and charged his body with chakra before kneeing Lee hard, hard enough that the boy bent over in shock before kicking away with enough force that he crashed into a wall. Rushing Lee, they meet each other with kicks and punches, with Lee's style being more about raw power and Kagami's being more about capture and not killing or breaking bones. It was a hard fight, but Lee had the clear advantage.

Soon, far too soon, Lee, socked him in the face, sending him rolling back. He popped up just in time to block a harsh strike that he barely managed to hold back. This went on for about a minute before Gai called out.

"That's enough, I have my assessment!" And the two boys stopped, looking at each with a grin.

"Most youthful, Kagami!"

"Thank you, I tried Lee."

Gai walked over. "Kagami, you are far, far faster and stronger than I would have guessed with Naruto's prior displays. You are easily Low Jonin level as a taijutsu user, with a stronger reliance on defensive maneuvers, as is typical of your monk style. I would advise you to bolster your speed and reflexes and maybe learn more of an offensive taijutu... in fact, Why not learn the Strong Fist? I would be happy to set you up with some scrolls?"

He smiled at Gai. "I always did respect you, Gai... thank you for giving me more of a reason to do just that." he was entirely aware that he was being manipulated, being given reasons to stay, why not take advantage of it?"

Gai just beamed. "I would say you are not far off from Lee's overall skills, your advanced healing factor and harsh training gave you a high speed and strength increase, but I would focus more on your body. Maybe with some weights and speed training?"

"I will take that into advisement." He turned to Tsunade, who was standing on the side. "What's next?"

"Now we have Asuma test your wind techniques, other jutsu and weapon skills. After that Shizune will asses your medical skills, and I will test your sealing abilities. Sound fair?"

"Sounds perfect."

Shizune, sweet Shizune, came up to him with a packet. "Complete this packet, and We will see what your base knowledge is. Then we can move onto your physical skills." Kagami created a shadow clone, who grabbed the packet. "My friend here can do that, so we can work on the fun stuff! I love healing!"

Shizune blinked, and smiled. "Why not... let's heal Lee's bruises from the fight, that should give me a good idea of your medical skills. We can chat as you do it, on what you would do for other injuries, like burns, cuts and internal injuries."

Tsunade smiled as she watched Kagami walk over with Shizune, turning to Gai she said. "Any notes?"

"Not really, the boy is far more skilled than I would have guessed. I think Naruto's neglect was far more pronounced than we realized. We might need to look into that, I would really hope you would."

"I knew Naruto was smart, and more than he showed, but if Kagami represents what is able to do without the Fox, than with it..."

Gai shivered. "He would be unstoppable..."

"Yes, I think so. Six months made this version at least low jonin in just taijutsu, and who knows what else? I shudder to think what his overall skills are."

After about twenty five minutes, Shizune not only assessed Kagami's skills but also read over his paper and declared. "His assessment was right int he bingo book. B+ level medic, mostly a field medic. He need work in the hospital and in the classroom, but his overall skills are good enough to be a field medic and work as a class two medic in the Hospital, three after he gets some more well rounded training. I give him three months of that until he can act as a fully independent medic. A year until he is able to lead field medics."

Tsunade nodded. "Good, now I do believe it is Asuma's turn."

Tsunade watched with some awe as Kagami, a boy with Naruto's face, matched Asuma for a solid minute, showing his skills with the Gale Pale and Beast Gale Pale, destroying targets with a leading attack. The boy then used two one handed Rasengan, and finished it off by fighting Asuma with his claw and actually managed a slight cut on Asuma's arm.

" We really need to better Naruto's training." She muttered.

Asuma stopped the conflict before saying. "Low B wind user, Solid B ninjutsu user. I think overall we are looking at a M to High B ranked ninja. Easily low Jonin level overall."

She nodded, "I agree... so let's test his sealing prowess, that should be the hardest to test. Tell me what you were trained in, if you don't mind Kagami?"

Kagami nodded. "I was mostly training in the basic matrix and how to cast scrolls and make defensive seals. I can unseal and seal things, I can restore low grade damaged seals and I am able to-" He went on and on, and after a while she pulled out her own papers, having him tell her what various seals could do, even having him guess on the more advanced things."... and this one, I think it's for healing, a focusing matrix of some sort. I am unsure, but the Kanji suggest a focui for restoration."

She nodded, pleased. "I would say you were well trained, if a bit limited in your selection of seals. We need more sealers, for a lot of reasons... very well. Since Naruto is on a training trip, we will keep you in the village for six months, to give you time to fully master as much as you can. Then you will be sent on missions. I have just the teacher for you. A gifted kenjutsu master, a sealer and a medic. A retiring member of ANBU, she is skilled in many fields."

The boy bowed to her. "Thank you, for your trust and help. "

She smiled. "Not a problem... now, let's get you set up. We will need to get you set up as a medic, I think three days a week as a medic, two days as a sealer,... and you could use your clones to help us fill our armory with seals, that will bolster your skills severely. Speaking of how many clones can you safely make."

Twenty, unless I am training with then, then four. Six if I am just writing. I also recover in about six hours, enough to make them again. I have a fast recuperation time."

"I get that, most Uzumaki's do. Now, shall we introduce you to the village?"

"Fine, but... don't expect much."
