An: and I'm back with the next chapter of Harry Potter the elemental Savior. I was quite surprised when just like the original version of this fic, I got a notification that I not only had several favorites, but also follows my story within the first day of me publishing it. In any event, in this chapter we'll skip to where the story actually starts.

2: catching up

September first, 1995.

In a side alley 3 blocks from a dingy and rundown pub called the Leaky Cauldron a strange portal suddenly appeared. The portal shaped like a donut quickly expanded to fill the alley.

The appearance of this portal was rather odd. At the top center, where 12 to 1 would be on a clock the portal was colored white. From about 2 through 3 the portal was green. From 4 through 5 the portal turned blue. From 6 through 7 the portal was black. From 8 through 9 the portal was a bright yellow. Finally, from 10 to just before 12 the portal was red.

From this portal strode 2 individuals. The man stood at just under 6 feet tall. He had black spiky hair that fell across his head in no definable pattern. He wore a pair of square rimmed glasses, and if 1 looked close enough they would see the remains of a lightning bolt shaped scar.

The young woman who walked by his side was in contrast no taller than 5 4. Her hair was a blazing shade of red. She carried a short staff in 1 hand, while she held the man

s hand with the other.

Looking around the man waved his hand at the portal, and after it shrunk down to the size of a golf ball picked it up and placed it into a pocket of the jacket he wore.

"Heart, do we have any information on what's been happening since I left?"

The young woman smiled at her companion. "I'm in my civilian form Harry. Please call me Michelle."

Harry Potter blinked, before smiling at Michelle. "Sorry" he said. "I forgot."

The 2 of them turned away from the Leaky Caldron and walked toward Kings Cross station.

Michelle smiled back at him. "As for what's been happening Shadow was only able to give me the highlights, so I'm lite on details.

In 1991 Dumbledore hid a fake philosopher stone to tempt out the spirit of Voldemort. Apparently, Potions master Snape discovered which body Voldemort possessed, and drove both of them out of the school after a troll was let into the school. Unfortunately, a Hermione Granger was killed by the troll before anyone noticed she was missing."

"What did the staff do when they discovered her body?"

"They buried her, and made her parents believe she had been messing around with potions she shouldn't have. They didn't care about her, since she was a first-generation witch."

"Do we know anything else?"

Michelle shook her head. "That's all for 91. In 1992 Lucius Malfoy slipped a cursed diary into the books of Ginevra Wesely. This diary had been enchanted by Voldemort himself to drain the life force of anyone who wrote in it. The diary would then transfer this lifeforce to Voldemort no matter what form he was in at the time. Fortunately Charms professor Flitwick noticed what was happening to the girl. Unfortunately, she was taken into the chamber of secrets located under the castle, and no one could get in to save the girl."

"Doesn't Dumbledore have a phoenix?");

"Yes, but Fox can only enter the chamber of secrets if the heir of Slytherin opens the chamber first."

"Pore Miss Wesely. Is the rest of her family alright?"

"No. Her mother went insane after Ginevra's disappearance, and the rest of the family are blaming themselves for not noticing there was something wrong with their sister."

"Well, we'll have to see about returning her body to her family while e\we are here."

Michelle nodded. "In 1993 Sirius Black broke out of Aska band after seeing a picture of Peter Pettigrew in the newspaper."

"Wait what! Who gives a prisoner a newspaper?"

Michelle shrugged. "It was Fudge the minister of magic.

Sirius's break out caused Fudge to send dementors to Hogwarts to recapture Black or suck out his soul with the dementor's kiss."

"Any fatalities?"

"Thankfully no. Although that's not for lack of trying on the dementors part."

"Do we know what happened to Black?"

"After nearly having his soul sucked out 3 days before the end of the school year Black freed a hippogriff that was slated to be executed and fled away from Briton."

Harry sighed. "So much for getting him on our side" he said. "So, what insanity did they come up with last year?"

Michelle scowled as she reached Kings Cross. "Apparently the Tri-wizard tournament ran from October 31st, 1994, to June 24th, 1995. All we know is that someone tried placing your name in the goblet of fire. When the names were chosen, and your name came out of the goblet everyone was expecting you to show up and compete."

Harry looked puzzled. "I never even felt any kind of pull while training that day."

"And you wouldn't " Michelle said. "The goblet of fire can only pull a person that matches the magical signature placed on the piece of paper into it. Since you were nowhere near the goblet that year no paper with your magic on it could have been placed in the goblet."

"Any surprises?"

Michelle nodded as the 2 of them passed through the pillar to platform 9 and 3/4s. "For the students and staff of Hogwarts there was. After the 3 chosen champions faced their dragons in the first task, the defense teacher for the year screamed in pain as he lost his magic."

"I'm guessing this guy placed my name in the goblet of fire?"

"Yep. The rest of the year was quiet. until Victor Krum finished the third task and was kidnapped to a graveyard. There he witnessed the resurrection of Voldemort, and then proceeded to give all the wizards a black eye with his casting skills."

"Did he get away?"

"Yes thankfully. He warned everyone that Voldemort was back, but Fudge didn't want to believe him. Thankfully he couldn't call Krum a liar without insulting Bulgaria."

Harry sighed as they reached the Hogwarts express. "So, what are we expecting for this year?"

Michelle shrugged as the 2 of them placed their trunks in the overhead racks of a compartment. "All I know is that Fudge has sent a lacky of his named Umbridge. We think she has been sent to crack down on word about Voldemort being spread from the school. We don't know much, but what we do know is she is the right piece of work. I would suggest steering well clear of her while you are here."

Harry nodded. "I'll do my best, but you know as well as I do that it is going to be nearly impossible."

Michelle nodded as the train left the station, a started rolling toward Hogwarts.

An: well, it's a little longer! Sorry about the short setup chapters. Now that we have set the background we'll be getting into the bucking of authority in the following chapters. Just for your information Michelle or Heart when she is transformed will not be 1 of Harry's girls. She is simply here for exposition, and training the girl that takes her place as Harry's fire elemental. Heart herself will not fight, but don't expect this to be all dialogs. Harry and his elemental team will be fighting Voldemort's death eaters, as well as whoever the dark lord Harry is supposed to take out is. Yes, I know who that is, but you won't be learning that for a few chapters yet. And trust me you have no idea who I chose to be the dark lord. Finally, I want to thank Loveandpower and guest for leaving reviews.

Any way that's all for this week, and I will see you all next time.
