5th year
I run to Regulus to hug my little brother. "Welcome home!" He says to me, hugging me.
"You are home. Good." Our mother announces. Sadly, they don't even bother waiting for me to get off the train after my fifth year at Hogwarts. They have better things to do then show appreciation toward their son who loves muggles.
"You are just in time for dinner, sit." My father tells me as he motions me to a my seat.
"How was your time at Hogwarts?" My father asks.
"It was great as usual."
"Are you hanging out with that blood traitor James still?"
I clear my throat in reply. "Yes and he has a new girlfriend."
"Who is she?" He asks hesitantly.
"If you are thinking she's muggle born, you are correct." I state. I know what is coming for me but I want to stick up for my best friend's new girlfriend.
I hear my father scream with unbearable anger.
"You are friends with a mudblood now? What is wrong with your dignity?"
"They are like the rest of us father. They are equal. She's a lovely girl."
"You believe that muggles are equal to pure blood witches and wizards?" My mother snaps.
"I do! I believe pure bloods and muggles are equal!"
My dad's anger is getting the best of him. "You disgrace your family!" He screams as he shakes me and makes me look at him. He slaps my face.
Then again and again until Regulus stands in the way. "Stop it! This isn't right!"
There is silence now. All we hear is my father's intense breathing and grunting.
"Sirius!" He gazed back at me, clearly madness in his eyes. "You can stay and follow my family and our ways!" He points to the door. "Or you can pack your bags and leave. If you do leave, we will never see you again."
"Your choice either stay." He says calmly. Then suddenly the anger springs up in his voice. "Or get out!" I run to my room in tears and gathered my things in a rush. After only a few minutes of packing, I grab my suitcase and head to the living room.
"Sirius, what's going on?" I hugged my brother, Regulus, once again. "I have to leave, Regulus."
"No, you can't."
"I can't live like this. I can't live a life that I don't believe in." I tell him as we continue the hug.
My father rips us apart. "Then leave boy!" He dad yells.
My mother stands beside him with a look of disgust on her face. She then told me, "We will not have a blood traitor in our house!"
These words hurt. Tears form in my eyes as I look at Regulus one last time before confidently walking out of the manor. The last thing I hear is my dad yelling to my little brother. "He is disowned. He won't be coming back ever again. You can never see him." My brother cries in agony as the door shuts.

I am on the doorstep of the Potter's house, praying that they will answer the door. "Sirius-" James has a voice of surprise.
"James- I didn't know where else to go. They kicked me out. I left and now my parents disowned me. I even see Regulus again." I don't cry much. Well practically never but in this moment I do. I cry, tears streaming down my cheeks, my voice is wailing in sorrow. "I never was a part of that family. You, Lily, Remus, and Peter are my family." I hug James as I make my way into the house. "You are right. That family will never understand you. We do." I shake my head in agreement.
"Thanks, James." I say, sitting on the couch instantly resting from the long walk I took to get here. Lily comes down the stairs and meets us, still rubbing her eyes. "Hey. What happened?" Her voice cracked from sleepiness.
"The Black family is not my family anymore. My parents rejected me. I guess the next best thing is to stay here."
"We need to ask your parents." Lily eyes James as he nods.
"Yeah. We will ask in the morning." James announces.
My mind wonders back to the thought of never seeing my brother again, my parents, my grandparents, my aunt and uncle, my cousins ever again. I'll never be a part of the Black family. I never was a part of the Black family.
