Meet The Parents
Basically an add on to Season 3 Episode 5 when Mike meets Rachel's parents for the first time.

When Mike first suggested it he had thought it was a great idea but Rachel immediately shot it down and he didn't think much more on the topic. But then, she had a change of heart and apparently he was now welcome at the Zane family dinner which gave him roughly 8 hours to prepare for the upcoming evening.
He knew that Robert Zane was an avid football fan so he brushed up on his knowledge of the New York Giants (he was never a big football fan himself, deciding that cycling was much less dangerous) to try and win him over. Laura Zane however, was much harder to impress, Rachel had talked about her mother a lot but never went into detail about what kinds of things she enjoyed so he was very much out of luck there and just decided to be well-mannered and on his best behaviour.
It was a big day at the office, with the Darby merger still needing to be smoothed over and the arrival of 'fixer' Stephen Huntley. That meant that by the time he got back to his shoebox apartment he had less than an hour before he had to meet Rachel to go to her parents' house. She had told him to dress casually but he wasn't quite sure what that meant in the Zane's books so he was playing a guessing game on the dress code. He laid out several outfits on his bed and jumped in the shower to freshen up after a long day at the office. He came out feeling refreshed and eventually settled on a light blue shirt with some chinos and rolled out the sleeves on the shirt to make it look more relaxed. He was just finishing styling his hair when he heard a knock on his door and answered it to see Rachel standing on his doorstep, looking as beautiful as ever might he just add. He greeted her with a kiss and opened the door wider, wordlessly inviting her in.
Rachel strolled in and took her place on the sofa whilst Mike cleared up the mess he had made whilst getting ready. When they were both ready, Mike locked up and they made their way to the awaiting cab, hand in hand. On the way to the Zane's, Mike was visibly nervous as his leg started bobbing up and down but Rachel was there straight away to rest a calming hand on his shaking knee.
"You'll be fine - I'm sure they'll love you"
"You think so?"
"I know so"
"Why?"
"Because I love you."
The drive to the house was short, but they relished the opportunity to just be together and sit in a more than comfortable silence as they prepared to take the next step in their ever-blooming relationship.
"You must be Michael, it's so lovely to finally meet you; Rachel has said so many great things about you."
The words of Laura Zane rang in his ears as he entered the stately home and began making his way through to the living room, confident in the fact he would have many more family dinners with their family, just hopefully as more than Rachel's boyfriend.
