After a brief update from the bridge staff of The Finalizer Kylo Ren was left standing alone. He gazed out of the main viewing window at the myriad of stars in front him, the countless white specks of light flashing by in the void of darkness. He thought again about Captain Shade and how best he could handle the developing situation with her. It had been unexpected when he had sensed her through the force on board his ship. He initially had assumed she was a spy, planted on board, but after investigating her he had came to realise that she was unaware of her abilities – she was simply a trooper. It had become more troubling when she was brought to his attention again when one of his operatives had uncovered her scheme. He had almost killed her immediately, but he had reconsidered. Instead he monitored he closely. Her future was clouded; She would either turn out to be a tremendous asset to him and the First Order, or she wouldn't. It was this uncertainty that was currently keeping her alive...
He pondered silently some more and finally reached a conclusion. He would let Shade play out her plan, he knew his operative would keep him up to date with what was happening, so he could continue to monitor her from afar. He would let her so far, and then strike. What he had in mind could be the perfect test for Shade; to show whether she would be an asset to him. The test would also conclude some other nagging doubts he had been feeling. Maybe more than one loose end could be tied up depending on the actions of Captain Shade...
Ren turned away from the viewing window and, ignoring the rest of the bridge crew who all stood to attention as he passed them, walked into one the turbo lifts that lined the far side of the bridge.
Captain Shade put her helmet back on as she stepped out of the mess room. She had announced that she was going to the weapons room, which she was, just not directly. Her helmet was the perfect mask to disguise her building anger. The trooper who she had named Summer had betrayed her, and she had to find out why. She walked along the busy corridors, passed various suited troopers who acknowledged her rank as they saw her. Service workers and droids paid her no attention, although all moved out of her way as she strode past them purposefully. She stopped in front of the turbo lifts, briefly unsure that her next course of action was necessary. What she had thought she had to do seemed so final. The uncertainty lasted only seconds, she knew deep down it had to be done, that there could be no loose ends. Not now. Shade pushed the entry button and the doors swept open. She walked into the empty lift. She selected deck eighteen - the floor that the dorms were on.
Ren entered the private medbay and started walking across the reflective floor towards the only patient in the brightly lit sterile room. A medical droid approached Ren as he walked. "Wake him up and then leave us" he said, as he stood in front of the solitary bacta tank.
