Chapter 12 - C-20
Mobius returned to the TVA and promptly sat himself down at his desk with his face in his hands, hoping he could get one moment of peace without any further interruption, but when dealing with Lokis, that never seemed to be the case. All he wanted to do was read his jet ski magazine for five minutes at least when Hunter B-15 disturbed him.
"Mobius," she said frantically.
"I told you … not to bother me unless you had new information," he said tiredly from his hands.
"Have you seen C-20?" she asked. He didn't see how this was relevant, but B-15 sounded panicked. She anxiously gripped the side of her pruning stick. Mobius released his hands from his face to frown at her, trying to recall the last time he actually saw the young hunter.
"No … I haven't … I thought she was with you?" he said pondering. He hadn't seen her since he started this new mission. Mobius figured she was given a different case.
"She hasn't been assigned to me for weeks now, but I haven't even seen her pass by in the hallways," she said. The agent stood up gently from his desk.
"Well … I'm sure she's around-"
"No one has seen her since your newest case, Op. Mobius," she snapped. He felt uneasy by her accusation.
"What, and you think I have something to do with it?" he demanded standing up straight.
"I think your variant pet had something to do with it," she declared. The agent clenched his jaw. B-15 never had any love for the God of Mischief, that was never hidden.
"Loki and I had never been to the wizarding world before her-"
"But you are looking for a Loki variant and that is what she is usually assigned to," she cut him off. He let out an angry sigh.
"Are you suggesting a variant took her? A variant Loki has never done that before. Where's the motivation?" he stated as calmly as he could with his hands out in front of him, palms up.
"This newest variant has managed to hide from the TVA in this new world for how long? And you're last Loki botched your last mission … I don't think its unreasonable to think that C-20 could have been abducted," B-15 responded. The agent put his hands in pockets and rolled his eyes not having it. This line of thinking was a stretch, even for her. "Have you talked to Renslayer?" he asked finally.
"Yes, she said C-20 was on a case, for you," she said snidely. Mobius narrowed his eyes at her. C-20 was usually a part of his crew when it came to finding Loki variants, but she was never a part of their mission to Hogwarts as far as he knew.
"And where is Judge Renslayer now?" he asked.
