A/N: Welcome to my first self ship story. Some key things to keep in mind: 1. Due to privacy concerns, my character will not have my real name. 2. Since this is a self ship fanfic, the ending will differ from the original storyline as will some events. I do not own Cyberpunk 2077 or any of it's characters. I only own Lyric and this story.

"Tell Misty I said 'hi.'" V said as Jackie pulled up to the second floor of the parking garage for V's apartment. She was sore; muscles twinged in places and ways she knew she'd be sore in the morning. Not to mention exhausted. It wasn't so much from the scav fight but more so the emotional drainage from saving Sandra Doorset and facing Trauma team.

"Tell Lyric I said 'hola' as well." Jackie commented as V opened her door. Jackie promised her after he was done borrowing the car for his date with Misty, that he'd bring her car back in one piece. Best be in tip top shape, V thought as she watched Jackie drive away.

Turning on her heels, V entered the elevator. The glowing blue options on the screen pad made her dizzy for a moment but she shook the headache away pressing the 'apartments' option. She was excited to see Lyric. They had met three years ago, before V left for Atlanta and was more than grateful when Lyric decided to join her. But things didn't pan out for them out there. Sometimes it's not the right time to settle down and try for children. Sometimes, life has other plans. But somehow, V and Lyric made it work.

Metal unhooked and unchained as the elevator doors opened. V ran her fingers through her magenta hair. What was left of it anyway. About three months ago she had gotten a little too drunk after a gig with Jackie and convinced Lyric to shave the left side of her head. Although Lyric wasn't 100% for it, she made a cool design on V's head anyway. Wife material. Her shoes felt heavy as she came around the corner to their apartment door. She sighed in relief when the door opened and the apartment was in complete darkness minus the faint mint blue hue of the radio. She could see Lyric's silhouette on the couch; slouched slightly, head leaning back into the cushion, one empty inhaler in front of her. Sometimes she had headaches so suddenly that she had light sensitivity issues. Normally, this made V concerned though she was growing used to the sudden health issues. Neither of them were exactly sure what was causing them. For once, V was okay with the apartment being in full blackout mode. Stepping into the room, letting the apartment door shut behind her before V shrugged her jacket off, the heels off her boots echoed through the apartment more than she would have liked.

"How'd the gig go?" Lyric asked as she sat up from the couch. Rolling her shoulders, V could now see in the hint of light that she was in a thin black nightgown. Lyric stood and walked over to the open doorway of the bathroom as V proceeded to undress in front of the sink. The faint glow of light left little to the imagination. The nightgown was short for Lyric who was tall. She was about 5 feet 9 inches tall while V was only an inch shorter. Lyric also happened to be three years older than V. Twenty seven to V's twenty four. But that mattered very little to V. There was a fire in Lyric that she knew could not be contained. And in knowing that, V was perfectly fine with burning in that flame like a moth.

"She's alive to say the least. Wakako is happy. And scav's are disgusting creatures." V remarked as she stepped foot into the shower. The cold water stung at first but then soothed into warmth. She leaned her head against the cool wall of the shower stall, finding that the sudden change in temperature caused a malfunction error message to flash across her vision. "Still don't understand why the NCPD doesn't do away with them already."

Lyric shook her head, leaning across the small hallway in front of the sink to shelf, grabbing her love a towel. V looked and sounded exhausted. She could tell from the sound of her sighs and the way she begrudgingly brought herself to the shower. She wasn't exactly a fan of V's merc lifestyle, though it did pay the bills. It was dangerous and they had enough problems with her health issues. She didn't need or want anything to happen to V. "If they did, they'd be out of a job." Lyric remarked, hearing the water turn off. V stepped out of the shower, accepting the towel. Before Lyric could turn away, however, V grabbed her by the hip and pulled her close. Reaching around, she grabbed one of Lyric's butt cheeks and gave it a good squeeze.

"Man, am I lucky to come home to this hot piece of ass!" V smirked as she felt Lyric's hand grab her jaw and gently turn her face to her own.

"I don't remember you asking permission to grab my ass." Lyric has no smile on her face yet her eyes poured out flame. Her normally brown eyes glowed orange in the dark. V could feel her self getting wet between her thighs. That was another thing she loved about Lyric. She was a dom. You'd think in V's line of work that she'd be the one to take charge in the bedroom. But for V, there was nothing better than coming home to her loving partner who she could submit and melt beneath every single night.

"I'm sorry, my love." V whispered, ignoring the faint spell of dizziness that lingered in the shadows, "May I please grab that fabulous, fat ass?"

Lyric smirked only then as she gently pulled V's jaw forward, kissing her sweetly. Her tongue running along the inside of V's lips before her teeth gently grazed her bottom lip. Lyric's hands found the curve of V's small ass and picked her up. Natural instinct called to bear as V wrapped her legs around Lyric's hips. She was grateful Lyric's eyes had gotten used to the blackout feature of the apartment rather quickly, for it was easy for her to maneuver around furniture to the alcove bed.

Upon laying her down, V winced. Lyric unwrapped her legs from her hips and sat up. "What's the matter?" she asked. Pushing her dominance to the side, for her concern for V was more important.

"Just a headache." V sighed as she laid her head back into the pillows.

"Maybe you caught something while on the gig. Lie still. I'll do a scan." Her eyes began to glow orange then faded into a soft lavender as Lyric used her optics to scan V for any defects. V looked over at her girlfriend. Her eyes analyzing her face as she had done many times while Lyric was asleep. She loved these homey moments. Normally, Lyric wore makeup. She had a fair foundation, dark eyeshadow and black lipstick. But here and now, she was bare faced. V reached out while Lyric was concentrated on the scan and touched her hand.

She paused and looked up at V before pulling back the comforter, crawling into bed beside her love. "Seems to be a small bug. You should come to Vik's with me in the morning. I have crystals to sell to Misty anyway."

V nodded as they got comfortable. Wrapping her arm behind Lyric's head, she felt her nuzzle up against her chest. "I love you." V whispered into Lyric's ear.

"You fucking better," she smirked, reaching over to entwine her fingers with V's before falling asleep to the sound of her heartbeat.
