I don't know how I feel about this fic but I just got the idea and decided to run with it. I wanted to revert away from the usual types of fics I do. Enjoy and feedback is greatly appreciated :)
Jamie was walking in the hallway of the precinct when his phone buzzed in his back pocket. He pulled it out and smiled to see that it was text from his wife, probably bored at home on her day off and just wanted to talk. As he was about to open her message to respond, he saw that there was a photo attached. He was curious as to what she'd be sending him at this time of the day so he finally opened the message.
The image before him made him stop in his tracks. It was a picture of Eddie standing in front of the mirror of their bedroom, dressed in a black lace satin teddy that accentuated her bosom and hugged her curves in all the right places. Her blonde hair was in loose waves framing her face and finished off with some makeup that made her blue eyes pop. He hated himself at the moment because he wasn't at home with her.
He slipped his phone into his pocket and made his way over to an empty room towards the back of the precinct that not many people knew about. Eddie had just recently discovered it a few weeks back and they used it to have a few moments alone when the days would get overwhelming. He quickly made his way inside and shut the door behind him. Then, he pulled his phone out and responded to her.
You're killing me, he replied.
She quickly responded back to him, I realized that you never got your picture when you were on your trip. What do you think? ;)
I think that I'm the biggest idiot in the world for not being home with you right now. Is that the one you got when I was away?
Yes. I realized that I haven't actually gotten to put it on for you yet. I was a little bored so I decided to put myself together for once. But I'm about to take it off.
No! Don't do that. If I get home on time tonight, I'll do it for you ;)
Why don't you just come do it right now? she suggested.
Jamie groaned. He could see her laughing to herself, knowing exactly what she was doing to him. There was nothing he wanted more right now than to go home and make sweet love to his wife. Unfortunately, they were in the middle of a big case and leaving right now would surely be frowned upon.
I can't leave right now, Ed, he typed regrettably. We've been swamped all day. Trust me, if we weren't, I would've been out the door as soon as I saw the pic.
Well… I guess I'll just have to take it off myself, she replied. I'll leave you to it. See you tonight. Be safe.
Jamie sighed and placed his phone back in his pocket. They really hadn't had much time together since he came home from his trip. On their way home from family dinner that Sunday, their only plan was to get home and make up for the lost time during his week away. Unfortunately, that went down the drain when Lieutenant Fleming called and needed Jamie to go in urgently. Since then, all they've had were quick hellos and goodbyes.
He walked out of the room and back over to his office where Christo was waiting for him to go over some details of the case. He tried his best to focus, but it was difficult to get the photo of his wife out of his mind.
After awhile, he and Christo decided to take a break. Christo walked off while he stood up and stretched his tired limbs. As he sat back down, his phone buzzed on his desk. He picked it up and saw that it was another message from Eddie, again with a photo attached.
Jamie looked around for a quick moment before opening the message. It was picture of his wife with the same teddy on but now showing off the back of it, with her hair thrown over her shoulder. Her pert derrière was on display and it made him have a hitch in his throat. She had a sly smile on her face, which Jamie couldn't help but chuckle at. He knew exactly what she was trying to do with sending these photos and it was working.
You're making it very hard to focus on my job, Edit, he responded.
Oh yeah? Eddie replied a few minutes later. Me making you lose focus? I don't believe it.
Well believe it. And it's doing a few other things to me too but I'd rather tell you about that in person.
Well you could come home right now and tell me… or rather show me ;)
He took a deep breath and responded, Eddie…
Jamie… she replied.
He looked at the time. It was a quarter to midday and as he thought about it, he and Christo really deserved a good lunch break. Working in field intelligence didn't give them many, mainly due to how busy they usually were. And if there was any day to take a lunch break, it would be today.
Give me 30 minutes? he asked.
20... she challenged.
It takes me 15 to get home, Ed.
Well you better drive fast.
Jamie immediately slipped his phone into his pocket, grabbed his car keys from the desk drawer, and went to search for Christo. He found him walking back down the hallway with some snacks in hand.
"Hey Sarge," he said. "You ready to get back to it?"
"Actually no," Jamie replied. "I was going to tell you that you should go take a lunch break."
"Really? I thought you wanted to work through today."
"Yeah but I think it would be good for us to get out of here for awhile. Come back with a fresh mind. Meet me back here around 1:15?"
"Sounds good, Sarge."
Jamie nodded. He quickly turned and then made his way out of precinct.
At home, Eddie put her phone down on the bed with a satisfied smile. She was surprised that her plan had actually worked. At first, it wasn't even a plan. She just wanted to send her husband a few pictures to show him what he was missing while he was at work. But then, she realized that it had been a little over a week since they've had that quality time that she knew they both were craving.
She felt a shudder go down her spine and a familiar tingling in her stomach thinking about what was about to happen when her husband walked through the door. Even after five years together, it still surprises her to see what comes over her husband when they're intimate. He gets this way about him that is hard to describe, but she absolutely loves it and can't get enough of it.
She sits on the edge of the bed and waits for a few minutes before deciding to move off into the kitchen. It was his lunch time and she figured it would be best to cook him something so he didn't go back to work hungry. That's the least she could do since he was fulfilling her request of coming home.
"Come on!" Jamie exclaimed as he pounded the steering wheel. Of course, the day that he needed to get home, the traffic was terrible.
He looked at the time. It was only 11:55 but time was of the essence. He was determined to make it home and beat the timeframe his wife gave him.
Eddie turned off the stove and started to clean up the small mess she had made. Then, she went around the living room and cleaned it up a little bit before retreating back to their bedroom to do a few touch ups to her hair and makeup.
Before Jamie, she wasn't the type of person to send pictures to anyone. After what happened in college, it shattered that confidence and she swore that she'd never let anyone do that to her again. It made her have a negative body image of herself for the longest time.
With Jamie, he changed that. He took all the imperfections that she felt about her body and told her what he loved about them. He makes her feel like the most beautiful woman in the world on the days she doesn't feel like it. He makes her feel loved, cherished, and desired. She can't help but smile as she thinks about it.
She looked at the time on her phone. "Time is ticking, Jameson," she said to herself.
The traffic seemed to be at a stand still and Jamie couldn't help but let out a sigh of frustration.
"Today of all days," he said, leaning his head back against the seat. All he wanted was to make it home to be with his wife but it seemed like that wasn't going to happen.
He closed his eyes for a few moments before opening them quickly and looking around at his surroundings. A thought suddenly came to him. He was actually less than 10 minutes away from their apartment but if he stayed in this traffic, it would be even longer than that. A plan started to formulate in his mind and if he executed it correctly, he would be home in no time.
Eddie was sitting on the edge of their bed, scrolling through her phone when a sweaty, red faced Jamie literally fell through the doorway.
"I made it!" he let out, trying to catch his breath. He stood up, pulled out his phone and showed her the time. "With a minute to spare."
Eddie was surprised at his appearance, "What happened to you? Why are you so sweaty?"
"The traffic was terrible," he said, grabbing the water bottle that was on Eddie's nightstand and taking a long drink. "So I parked the car on a side street and ran."
Her eyes widened, "You ran?"
"I ran," he confirmed, using his shirt to wipe the sweat off his forehead. "A whole four blocks."
"Why the hell would you do that?" she asked.
He looked her up and down, "Do you really need to ask why?"
Eddie chuckled softly, "Oh Jamie. You didn't have to do all that."
He smiled gently and reached out for her, "Well I did. When you have the most beautiful woman in the world waiting at home for you…" He brought her close and wrapped his arms around her waist, pressing a small kiss to her neck. "… you'll move mountains to get to her."
She smiled sweetly at him then stood up on her tip toes, wrapping her arms around his neck. She pressed a quick kiss to his lips then laid her head on his chest.
They stayed like that for a few moments before Jamie couldn't fight his need for her anymore and found her mouth again, taking her lips into his. His hands slid down her back and caressed her bottom, which elicited a small moan from her.
"Oh god, Jamie," she breathed, leaning in to kiss him again. "You better not leave me anymore. I don't think I could go this long again."
"I don't plan on it," he murmured huskily.
He slipped his hands under her bottom and gave her a quick squeeze, in which Eddie took as her signal to jump up. She wrapped her legs around his waist and sighed into his mouth.
"I love you," she said softly, leaning her forehead against his.
"I love you too."
Their mouths met again with more eager and need than they had before. Jamie started to carry her over to their bedroom but couldn't help but bump into a few things along the way.
"Ow!" Eddie let out, feeling her back hit the pointed corner of one of the kitchen cabinets.
"Sorry," Jamie quickly said before kissing her again.
They finally made it to their bedroom where Jamie carried her in and kicked the door shut behind him.
