The silent night was broken by a banshee-like siren.

Spotlights came to life, moving a lot faster than its calmer pace. Drones were deployed in large swarms. They buzzed loudly like hundreds and thousands of wasps out for blood. The yellow lights made the drones look eerie as they searched for their prey. Gates to a specific compound was opened and odd-looking creatures began to storm out. They ran on their two legs like a human but their appearance resembled none. They made garbled sounds while looking for a certain target their master wanted.

Ahead of them, a figure was on the run.

G jumped over tree roots and ducked over branches that got in his way. His heavy breathing was muffled by the mask he wore. He never looked behind, not even a quick glance over his shoulders. The noises building up at the back gave him enough hint that he is being followed.

The trees began to lessen and the path went clearer with less bushes to block him. G could see light at the end of the path he took. His chest was burning to take in anymore air but he braced himself and picked up speed.

A scarab-like worm suddenly appeared before him, knocking G back with a swing of its giant claw. G flew through the air and into a tree, cutting it down. G quickly rolled out of the way before the tree could squish him. Dusts flew into the air.

"Damn it!" G cussed.

He whipped around to find an escape but realized more and more worms started to surround him. G observed them slowly advancing on him. He could see various types of worms, as expected. Shade had been improving on their experimentations. Though, G recognized some as prototypes.

Underneath that mask, G smirked.

"Mama did say it's rude to not leave behind door gifts." G murmured.

Pulling out his sword, G spread open his legs in a battle stance. The worms advanced on him but G remained in his place. G tightened his grip on the sword's handle. An Aracnea worm jumped at him. It spread its long limbs wide like a spider lunging for its prey. G swung his sword, cutting the worm in the middle and sending its separated torsos flying off before exploding. G spun around and sliced through another worm that jumped on him.

G jumped back when the Argentum tried to smash him where he used to stand. G brought his sword down. The Argentum let out a loud screech as it flailed its dismembered limb. G ran up to it and gave a roundhouse kick at the center of its chest. The Argentum flew back and knocked into its brethren.

The fight continued with G stabbing and slicing his targets. The worms began to lessen in number. G wanted to let out a victory cheer but a loud buzzing sound stopped him from doing so. He looked up to see a swarm of yellow lights heading for him. In the night sky, the drones looked like dark clouds over him. The drones' lights went red as soon as their crosshairs locked on G.

"Give me a break." G grumbled.

Instead of fighting, G turned around and ran fast. The drones buzzed loudly as it dove in. Mini guns were deployed and laser bullets shot out. G hid behind trees for cover. He was running away from his intended route. The trees began growing in number and there were large rocks appearing in his way. G used the rocks to shield himself from the drones' attacks. G hissed when his shin was cut by a laser nearly missing his leg. Blood began seeping out from the wound but G kept running.

Shade's drones are something to not be messed with. They moved in swarms which made it hard for anyone to fight it alone. G had no suitable weapon to fight back. Running away is the only plan G can think of.

The path began clearing but G saw a cliff ahead of him. You gotta be fucking shitting me! G wanted to tear his hair out.

His feet skidded to a halt. Tiny rubbles flew from the cliff and into the water below. G gazed off the cliff. He could take a dive but who's to say he won't be broken into pieces once he hits the water's surface. The height from the cliff and the water is too big. But then-

G whirled around. The drones were coming close. He had two choices - either he risked a dive or got turned into Swiss cheese instantly.

He turned away from the drones to the water. Then, G went back to the drones. They were coming at a dangerous distance. G could see their guns lighting up, ready to destroy him. G cursed again before dashing off the edge. His arms and legs flailed as G fell to the water. The drones followed behind.

When G hit the water, the splash he created short circuited the drones' front line. The rest at the back line quickly pulled up to avoid the splash. The offline drones floated on the water like dead flies. G swam ahead, still remaining underwater in case surviving drones would come searching for him. While being under, G could hear the drones zooming past.

G felt his lungs burn even more. He was tired from running and now he is holding his breath. However, G persevered. He kept swimming forward, not daring to go up the surface for air. He might as well just serve himself on a silver platter for the drones.

G managed to swim to the shore. He nearly drowned but G resurfaced with a loud gasp for air. A violent cough shook his body as he gasped to refill lost oxygen. G breathed deeply and softly sighed. He lifted his gaze to check his surroundings. The drones were still buzzing around but they sounded far away. He crawled a bit further up the lake bed before turning to lie on his back.

His body felt like lead. G raised a shaking hand to his mask. The mask let out a sharp hiss and G took it off. His hand dropped beside him. Gazing up to the night sky, G took another deep breath and sighed.

"This place is too dangerous," G muttered to himself.

After a few beats of breath, G tried to sit up. He could feel his energy rejuvenating as time passed on. Eventually, G pushed himself up to his feet but staggered as he tried to take a step. Soon, staggering steps became a walk. G was unsure where to go, nor does he care where he ended up when taking this path. All he could ask for is to get away from those drones, those worms, those experiments….

Above all, G wants to get away from Shade.

It was late in the afternoon when Uzume stepped into the town's park. There were not a lot of people aside from a few adults and vendors. It's the weekday anyway and a lot of people are still cooped up at the office or classroom or in the comfort of their beds. With this heat, it would be a menace for a 'stroll in the park'.

But Uzume never came here for a stroll.

Her stern eyes observed the park area. She was sure her target had gone here. That energy that person emanated. Uzume could not have mistaken it. When they walked past her earlier, it struck Uzume like an icy touch. Uzume abandoned what she was doing before and went after her target until she reached this park.

"Where the hell did you go?" Uzume grumbled. She walked a bit further to the park's center while still searching for a suspicious looking figure.

It should not be hard for Uzume to find them. There are barely enough people to be called a crowd. Not to mention that person was stumbling around like a drunk while moaning loudly. Their clothes seemed normal but the way they slouched until their spine was in a clear arch and arms swinging about, should raise some eyebrows from the public.

Uzume walked up to a stall selling ice cream. The vendor was scooping a large amount of chocolate ice cream and passed the cone to a little boy, who jumped in joy before running off. Uzume stepped up to him and said, "Good afternoon, Mister. I got something to ask you."

The vendor was a thin, elderly looking man with whiskers covering the top of his mouth. He seemed curious as to what she was going to ask.

"Have you seen a suspicious looking man this tall?" Uzume raised her hand higher than herself and even had to stand on the tip of her toes to better picture the height. "Uhh…I think he was wearing a business suit and had dark hair."

The vendor scratched at the stubbles on his chin. He hummed thoughtfully. Uzume waited with her foot thumping on the ground and a finger tapping rapidly on the side of the vendor's cart. Deep down, she wanted to just bolt as she felt like time was getting ahead of her but Uzume waited on. He might be holding crucial information. If she is patient, she might be able to locate her target again.

"I haven't seen any suspicious man," Uzume visibly deflated but recovered quickly when the vendor continued, "Though there's this asshole that almost knocked over my cart!"

Uzume could see steam shooting out from the vendor's ears. His face went beet red as he furiously rambled on, "That little fucker! If you wanna pick a fight with someone, do it in an alleyway where people aren't tryna have a business!"

Fight with someone?

Uzume frowned. It might just be some street gang but Uzume felt as if there was more to it than what is said. She looked back at the vendor.

"Mister!" She said it firmly. "Can you tell me more about this, uhh…asshole you just mentioned?"

The vendor grew even more furious and Uzume feared she would be chased out. On the contrary, the vendor let out a heavy sigh. He took off his cap and began fanning himself, probably trying to keep a cool composure.

"It was that goddamn Kamen Rider G." Uzume's eyes widened. The vendor continued without a care of the girl's shock, "I know he's the town's hero, saving us from all those aliens and monsters but that ain't a good excuse for him to mess around, destroying our property. Did he come back and pay compensation? No! Never. He just went off into the sunset, leaving us to clean up after his mess!"

Uzume slowly nodded as she digested the complaint. Recently, there has been word of a new hero by the name of G. He was one of those rider heroes, Kamen Riders, from outside of the country. Uzume heard a few of them but did not expect one to be in the town she lived in. When she first heard of him on national news, Uzume was amazed to know a rider existed in her own town.

Then again, a wise man said, "With great power, comes great responsibility."

This G might have been living under a rock to not know of this quote. Uzume sighed. She was aware of the destruction left behind whenever he appeared. Yes, he did save the people from being harmed by zombies and monsters dubbed as worms. However, his action did not save them from being financially stubbed and homeless.

Uzume excused herself, thanking the vendor before heading off. She was hoping to get a lead on her target but this vendor was very adamant on G. Maybe she would find a better clue elsewhere.

For now, Uzume hoped that this odd person is just a local drunk and not something she needs to worry about.

A yellow bus drove into an intersection. It stopped once a redlight appeared. The bus driver sat back with a heavy sigh. His eyes trained on the traffic light, waiting for it to turn green quickly. The noisy children in the back are starting to drive him crazy. The job does put food on the table but he is starting to question if this was a good choice in the first place. Everyday he has to sit and listen to their ear piercing screams or the same songs over and over again.

The light changed to green. The bus driver shifted gears and was about to move when he saw a man staggering in front. He would have accidentally hit that man if he did not stomp on his break sooner. Agitated, the driver opened his window and looked out.

He yelled at the staggering man while shaking his fist, "Watch it, fucker! I got places to go."

The man no longer moved. He stood still in front of the bus, swaying back and forth. He wore a business suit with the jacket unbuttoned and his shirt looking crumpled. He was slouching forward with his head bowed.

Why I ought to-

The bus driver was at his limit. He slammed his cap on the bus' floor and got out. Stomping over to the man, the bus driver began shouting at him.

"What's your deal, huh? You tryna get run over?" The man did not respond other than a low groan. The bus driver gritted his teeth. He was seeing red and grabbed the man by the collar of his shirt. Bringing him closer to his face, the bus driver yelled even more. His loud voice drew the attention of nearby passers-by. The cars behind were honking loudly and some were throwing curse words from out the window. Yet, the bus driver was focused on the man that started the whole mess.

In the midst of chaos, the man's body began to convulse. It was subtle like a shiver before becoming a full spasm. The bus driver dropped the man and stepped back as the body convulsed more, arms twisting and legs locking. The man's eyes had rolled into the back of its socket. His tongue stuck out and foam was forming. What's worse is the body starting to bloat like a water inflated balloon.

The sight petrified the nearby crowd. Only one or two recovered from their shock to start contacting the authorities. The bus driver himself lost the fire he had earlier and began to take a few steps back. He was mumbling incoherent words, unsure what to say. The kids were crowding at the front, trying to see what was going on.

A rotting smell began to sting their noses. The crowd began to raise their hands to cover their noses. Some gagged and threw up at the horrid stench. It smelled similar to a corpse. The man's body convulsed more and bloated further until-

The body exploded, splattering blood and innards at everyone. The crowd screamed while trying to take cover. The bus driver was drenched from head to toe with fresh blood. He screamed at the top of his lungs while his hands frantically tried to get the blood off him. The panic grew when the warm blood grew hotter and hotter to the point of scalding. It was as if someone had poured boiling water on him.

"Wha- Hu-" The bus driver went ahead to take off his shirt. He wiped his palm all over his body to get rid of the blood but only succeeded to spread them further. "Get- Ugh…why is this hurting-"

The bus driver leaned against the bus, feeling like he was being skinned alive. His blood curdling screams scared those around him. He began thrashing around, clawing at himself or swinging his arms as if trying to grab or hit something. His fingernails broke after leaving a scratch on the bus' exterior.

Police and medics arrived. The police tried to calm him down but the bus driver was unable to listen to anything. There was a loud ringing in his ears, drowning out the sounds. When the police came close, the bus driver suddenly launched himself at him pushing them both to the ground. The bus driver sat on the policeman's chest before diving in for his neck. The policeman screamed loudly, legs kicking out. He tried to push him off him but the bus driver's grip was strong on him.

In the midst of their chaos, none realised the previous man who exploded slowly coming back up to his feet…
