Hey guys! Ducky here for another chapter! I just wanna remind y'all, you can tell me if you want me to add your character in. It'll actually help me, because I tend to have trouble thinking of new characters. But anyway, thanks for popping by. My views are growing rapidly, so thank you so much to all my readers and especially to my reviewers.

Without further notice, here's chapter 4.

Starflight's (POV)

A droplet bounces off my black scales and I open my eyes. The sky is a murky gray color, way darker than before, even though it's morning. Rain starts falling faster and faster and within minutes, it's pouring outside.

By this time, everyone is awake. Awake and soaked. I shadow my wing over Sunny, who especially hates this kind of weather, being a SandWing.

Clay, on the other hand, is happily sloshing in the mud puddles, splashing the rest of us by accident.

Sunny squeals. "I'm so cold! Why does it have to be so wet?"

"I know, the weather's not that great right now. Let's go find some shelter," I say, not wanting to stand in the downpour any longer.

The four of us walk through the rainforest another couple of miles. If we try to speak, the rain drowns out what we're saying, making it impossible to hear.

We walk until what I can only guess is mid-day, although I really can't tell with the rain and clouds blocking out the sun and light.

Eventually, we come to a nook sheltered by thick trees and a slab of rock. It's just big enough for the four of us, although we're very squished. But it's actually better that way because our body heat will stay trapped and will keep us all warm in this weather.

"One more dragon and we'd have to find another place to stay," Tsunami says annoyedly, obviously uncomfortable with our current circumstances.

"Speaking of one more dragon," I start, "we should be thinking of a way to rescue Glory."

"What I don't get is," Clay says, "how did we not hear her being taken? Was she even taken?"

"How else would she have disappeared? She wouldn't have just wandered off. No one could see anything in that fog, including her," Tsunami says matter-of-factly.

"Yeah, but did she cry for help at all?" Clay asks.

"I'm not sure," I say, very puzzled and overwhelmed.

"I'm sure she did," Sunny chimes in. "We just didn't hear her. She wouldn't willingly let some random dragons kidnap her, right?"

"Guys, we shouldn't worry about how she was taken right now," I say. "Let's focus on getting her back. Then she can tell us everything–if she remembers anything."

"Well, we can't rescue her if we don't know where to find her," Tsunami says.

"Well, let's think about this," I say. "We just escaped Queen Scarlet's palace and since Glory was the one who sprayed her with venom, I'd assume Scarlet would go after her first. Her going missing and Queen Scarlet's desire for revenge is no coincidence."

"So you're saying it's likely she's back in the palace as a prisoner?" Clay says.

"Yes, that is the most realistic option."

"What if she's escaped and is now somewhere else?" Sunny asks.

"That isn't likely, considering they've probably chained her down and put guards on her," I explain.

"So, we'll check Scarlet's palace first. But how will we get in?" Tsunami asks.

"I don't know. We'll figure it out when we get there. I don't have a record of her current security system. For all we know, Scarlet may not even be alive."

"If she isn't alive, who would be ruling?" Clay asks.

"I'm not entirely sure, but there was a history of her only heir, her daughter named Ruby."

"Ruby? Never heard of her," Clay says, confused.

"When should we leave to go find her?" Sunny asks.

"When we're well-rested and the sky is free of any threats that might affect our travel," I say, greatly desiring a nap. The rain had relented a bit, which was helpful.

"Sounds goo–" Clay starts, but is cut off by the sound of wings overhead.

"Shhh." I put a finger to my mouth, motioning to be silent. Slowly I peek my head out of the nook. Nothing is in the sky. But when I look to my right, two SkyWings seem to have just landed and are talking in low voices.

I turn back into the nook. "Guys, there are SkyWings outside right now."

"What?" Tsunami whisper-yells.

"Why are they here?" Clay asks.

"Are they after us?" Sunny questions in a high-pitched voice.

"I don't know, but they're talking about something. They must be looking for something," I say in a hushed voice.

"Wait, does that mean Scarlet's alive? If these SkyWings are out here, I mean? They're probably on orders or something, right?" Clay says.

"I honestly don't know. Just try to stay hidden." I peek my head out one more time but immediately regret it. It seems as if one of the SkyWings was looking in our direction. He must have seen us.

I duck back undercover quickly, but not before I know it's too late. Footsteps are stamping our way.

All four of us hear them and our eyes grow wide with fear as we try to stay quiet.

"The Dragonets of Destiny?" one of the SkyWings says, confused. His tone catches me by surprise. He doesn't seem like he's out here to hurt us.

"What are you guys doing here?" The other SkyWing asks. Her tone is high and soft, much unlike the other one's, who's tone is deep and heavy.

"Excuse me?" Tsunami asks, freeing herself from the tight ball the four of us have formed. "What do you mean?"

"You have to run," the girl SkyWing says hurriedly, as if she doesn't have much time to say it.

"Huh? From what?" Clay asks, oblivious to what's going on. Honestly, I kind of am too.

"From Scarlet!" she says.

"Yeah, she's after you guys," the boy SkyWing adds on.

"Wait, Scarlet's alive?" I ask, bewildered.

"Yeah, and recovering fast," he says.

"Hold on, hold on. Why are you telling us this? Don't you work for Scarlet?" Tsunami asks.

"Work for Scarlet?" the boy SkyWing says, shocked. "No way! While she was recovering, a new queen took over."

"Queen Ruby," I breathe.

"Yeah. Some stayed loyal to Scarlet, knowing she'd survive the attack of the venom, but most switched sides and allowed Ruby as their new queen, including us two."

"So why do we have to run? Aren't we safe here?" Clay asks.

"No, Scarlet knows where you guys are. When she sent her SkyWing soldiers to go fetch your RainWing friend, she got the idea that you guys are around here. She's gonna come after you, after she takes care of your friend."

All four of our mouths gaped in horror. "What do you mean 'take care of her'?" Tsunami asks, her tail lashing dangerously.

"I don't know. Scarlet never told us the details after we turned to Ruby," the girl SkyWing says solemnly.

"Is Glory–is the RainWing in the palace?" Clay asks expectantly.

"Yes, she is. In the dungeons, I think."

"Is she okay?" Sunny asks, hope shining in her beady black eyes.

"From what I know, she's not in the best of conditions."

"What does that mean, 'not in the best of conditions'?" Tsunami asks threateningly.

"I believe she was knocked out with this powerful dart we use in the Sky Kingdom. It causes instant unconsciousness with terrible side effects. Bad vision for hours, clouded mind, trouble remembering things, and, like, agonizing headaches. And I believe she was shot twice, once when being captured, and another when she was being too difficult. Plus, the dungeons are really smoky and don't have the purest of air, so I wouldn't count on your friend being in the best of conditions."

All of our faces became solemn. Hearing what was happening to Glory was painful.

"Oh, no," Sunny gasped, obviously the most affected. She was nearly on the verge of tears.

But then something hit me. "Guys, that's why we couldn't hear Glory being taken. When she was hit by the dart, she barely had time to say anything before she was unconscious. And since none of us could see anything, we wouldn't be able to detect SkyWings in the fog."

The others were nodding like it made sense.

"But like I said before," the SkyWing female says, "you guys have to run. Scarlet's coming for you as soon as she finishes with your friend."

"We aren't leaving Glory," Sunny says.

"We'll help you get your friend back, just please run. Everyone on Ruby's side is counting on you. And most of Pyrrhia is as well."

"Run where?" Clay asks.

"Anywhere. Just, get as far away from our kingdom as possible."

"Thank you for helping us," I say, nodding.

"Of course," the female says. "And we'll get your friend back. I promise."

Alright, so that was chapter 4! Tell me what you think in the review section. Also, for these two SkyWings on Ruby's side, I need names for them. One female name and one male name. If you have any ideas, please leave them in the review section. Thanks!

See ya in the next one.

Ducky :)
