Day 1

I was in the middle of a fight against pravda; we were being besieged and trapped in an ice cold building with morale very low. But all of the sudden i found myself in a very humid field and i heard men yelling and the sound of shooting but not of a tank or any modern weapons it sounded like muskets; then i heard the boom of a cannon and the rebel yell i had only heard it once before when yukari was showing us footage of veterans from old wars. "How is this possible?" The civil war ended in 1865. I am going to try and find someone who can explain what is happening here. I saw a man and went up to speak with him he wore a dirty and torn gray uniform before i could speak to him he said to me "what are you doing here ma,m there is a battle happening please stay down and take cover we,ll get you out of here as soon we can spare a horse." Hana thought why is he speaking to me like I'm an invalid. but then she realized she actually was in the time of the american civil war and back then they did not think it was "propper" for women to fight in war. I was about to speak to him but before I could a musket ball came flying at me but before it hit me he jumped in the way and stopped the musket ball. I quickly got down on the ground to tend to him but he was already dead. I feel so awful he gave his life for me because I kept standing instead of taking cover like I should have.

I crawled on the ground trying to find the commander of this army. Eventually I was far enough away so that I could stand without getting hit by a musket ball. I finally saw a house with men moving in and out i went up to the house and a man came up to me and asked what i was doing here i told him that i was looking for whoever was in command he said "you will have to wait for the battle to be over then i ask general lee if he can see you." I asked the man his name and he said that he was "Colonel Walter Taylor, General Robert E Lee's chief of staff." i can not believe this i really i am in the time of the american civil war and i'm in the confederate camp. but I'm not sure I'm really comfortable in a confederate camp. We were always told that they were horrible and that they fought for slavery but one of them gave his life for me and saved me from getting shot by a musket . Even if what we were told in school was not totally right and they did not take up arms to defend slavery how can men who are willing to give their life for a woman they have known for less than one minute knowingly take part in a system as reprehensible as slavery. Col Taylor came up and asked me if "do you wanted a cup of coffee" i asked "do you had any hot cocoa" he said that "we can not get any because of the yankee blockade" and i said "that's ok i'll just take the coffee do you have any sugar for it" he did thankfully i can't handle the awful bitter taste of pure black coffee. The coffee was still bitter but it was bearable with the sugar after a while Col Taylor said "ma,m would you like a fresh picked apple from a local farm we just got a wagon full" i said "no please save them for the men who are fighting they need them much more than i do". Taylor said "please at least take something to eat" i said "oh if you insist give me the food that the soldiers usually eat" he said "are you sure it's not very high quality food" i said "yes i am here when i have no right to be im not going to eat all of your best food". He said "okay if you insist" then he handed me hard bread and said it was called "hardtack" It was hard to chew but I ate it. After i was done he said "so i never got the chance to ask what if your name?" and I told him "I am Hana Isuzu" and he gave me a strange look and said "i,ve never heard a name like that before where are you from". And i told him "i am from japan" he seemed shocked and after a minute he said "well it is good to meet you i have never meant anyone from japan". After a while at about midnight Taylor said "General Lee will speak with you in the morning. you should get some sleep and general Lee has insisted you sleep in the house." i said "i would prefer to sleep in a te-" "NO" Taylor said "you do not understand after you rejected the fresh apples in favor of hardtack General Lee ordered you to sleep in the house instead of in a tent" i said "ok if those are the general's orders i'll sleep in the house."

Day 2

The next day Taylor woke me up and said "i'm sorry to wake you up but we have bacon you should have some well it's fresh" i said "thank you but i'm not hungry but i will have a cup of coffee with sugar though" Taylor said "ok i'll get you a cup." he came back with it and said "thank you for the coffee" i was silent for minute and then finally said "im sorry" and Taylor said "for what you didn't do anything wrong." i said "a soldier, one in your army when i first got on the battlefield he told me to duck but i did not listen and a when musket ball came flying at me he jumped in the way and gave his life to save mine" Taylor could tell it was bothering me and he said "he probably would have died one way or the other and his family would be honored that he saved the life of a woman especially one as pretty as you" i began to turn red and taylor smiled. A while later Taylor said "Miss Isuzu General Lee can see you now" "ok thank you" i said. "Why hello miss Isuzu it is very nice to meet you" Lee said, i said "likewise sir" then lee said "so what brings you here to my camp" i said "i do not know" lee said "what do you mean you that dont know" i said "you may not believe me but i am from the future i was in the middle of a tank fight we were under siege by pravda and all of the sudden i ended up on the battlefield. I know this is very hard to believe but this is on the good lord the truth "Lee seemed shocked at first but then said "it is very hard to believe but I have a feeling that you are not lying" he said "thank you." Lee said "Perhaps we should go on a ride, do you have a horse?" "no" I said, "it's fine you can borrow one of mine," Lee said. We began to ride though where the battle had been fight the day before and i saw the body of the man who saved and yelled "STOP" he seemed surprised then said "what is it" i said "that man there he saved my life and it cost him his" lee looked at me almost like a caring father and said "ok i will give you as much time as you need come back to me when you are ready to move on" "thank you" i said. I went to the man's body I could not keep myself from weeping when Lee saw this i heard him come up from behind me and he said "may god bless this man and may he be joyful in heaven for all eternity." I could not help the it for first time I began to cry and cry over this man. "if it were not for me he could still be alive" "it is god's will" lee said "i'm from japan we don't really believe in christianity there." After spending more time by the body we rode off again and we stopped on a hill and he said to me "so miss Isuzu early you said you were in a tank battle how do you battle with water tanks?" I explained to him what tanks were and he was very interested in hearing what is used in war during my time. After some time we had to return back to camp when we got there Taylor was waiting. He seemed like he was worried about something "Sir General Jackson was wounded and his arm was amputated" Taylor said. Lee said nothing for what felt like minutes and then got on his knees and began to pray to himself then Taylor joined in and I was the only one left standing. After some time she went to lee and said "why do you think i am here in 1863 instead of with my team in the fight against pravda" "the lord works in strange ways my child" he said in the tone of a kind father. "It is late you should go to bed" Taylor said "your are right but i just i miss my friends what if they lost the battle because i let them down" i said "well maybe when you are back in your time it will be lack a few minutes have passed or something look im sure they will understand." "thank you" i said "that really helps" "goodnight" Taylor said "goodnight" i said.

Day 3

The next day i woke up to the sound of cannons, general Lee came up to me and said "please stay down the emmy's artillery is testing us" "please let me help i'll do whatever you need me to do'' after a brief moment lee said "okay fine i will let you take command of our 32 pounder it is the largest cannon we have on hand" "okay thank you i will not disappoint you general." I was able to do severe damage to the union artillery until they gave up on the bombardment. They are now starting to retreat but the confederate army cant move with jackson wounded they need to wait until he recovers. I went up to general lee and said "general i would like to speak to the family of the man who saved me" lee said "i would let you but that man is from texas it is to far" "okay fine can i write them a letter then" "ok fine" he said. I went inside the house to write the letter in it I wrote "my name is Hana Isuzu i am from japan and your husband was the first person i meant in america and he told me to duck down and i was foolish and did not listen and it almost cost me my life a musket ball came flying at me but he jumped in the way and saved me after knowing me for less than a minute. I am so sorry I should have listened to him it's my fault that he is dead i just hope you can forgive me. Your husband was a good and honorable man who was willing to save the life of a woman he did not know." When I was done writing it I went to Col Taylor and said "here please send this letter to the wife of the man who saved me" and Taylor said "ok I will see that it is delivered." After some time Taylor came back and said "I sent the letter out" "thank you" I said then Taylor said "it is getting late you should go to bed" "no" I said "I want to sit by the fire alone and think." "ok" taylor said "i will see that no one bothers you." I began to think about why I might be here perhaps General Lee was right maybe some kind of god sent me here, but for what to learn something from General Lee or someone else. Lee came up to me and startled me and said "how are you my child" i said "i don't know i've been thinking maybe you're right maybe some kind of god has sent me here for something but i'm not christian my people are all shinto." "Tomorrow I will take you to church maybe you will find what you are looking for there." "ok" i said "then i will go to bed goodnight" "goodnight" Lee said.

Day 4

General Lee woke me up early for church and gave me a fancy dress for church I tried to resist but something about the way he spoke convinced me to wear the dress. We began to ride out I had to ride on the back of General Lee's horse traveler because there were no extra horses available. When we arrived at the church everyone was very kind and interested to meet the guest of General Lee. I listened to the sermon and I felt convinced that General Lee's god was the only god. After the sermon was over i went up the the pastor and said "hello I am Hana Isuzu i am from japan I was not raised as a christian but your sermon has changed my mind but how exactly do you become a christian" You get baptized" he said "what is that" i said then he said "i duck your head into water and then you are a christian" "WHAT" i said "you try to drown me" "no'' he said "i only duck your head in for a few seconds." i spoke with the pastor for a bit then General lee came up to me and asked what are you doing and i told him "i am going to get baptized" and he said "that is very good to here i will have a ceremony for you something like this will be good for the morale" "How" i asked "because they are fighting for the lord and knowing that a non believer has been converted will help" "okay" i said. The pastor began to prey and then dunked my head into the water and once I came up all of the men began to cheer and could not help but smile. Later that day when we were back at the small house near camp, I decided to go on a walk and pick flowers to make an argument for General Lee's wife. After a good long walk I had the flowers that I needed and made an arrangement. When I got back to camp General Lee and Colonel Taylor seemed worried I forgot to tell them where I was going. When they saw the argument I made Lee spoke up and said "Those are beautiful what are they for?" "For your wife," I said, "that is very kind of you. I'm sure she will love them," he said. After a while when it started getting dark me and General Lee began to discuss military tactics and strategy lee spoke of General Jackson's valley campaign where he took on the enemy while they were divided and I spoke of our team's fight against Saunders and the close defeat against St gloriana. I told Lee of the battle I was in the middle of when I ended up here and he gave the advice to escape though the strongest point in their line because they would not expect it. I thanked him and said "if I ever end up back I will tell Mihio of this plan." "I can feel myself going teleporting back, goodbye general Lee" "Goodbye my child" he said.

Epilogue

"HANA what happened to you. You disappeared for almost an hour ""It's a long story" i said "but that is not important now what is important is that i have a plane."
