Chapter 1 - Alphabet Pie
As the sun filled the sky with a bright blue to share with Wiggle Town, Jeff and Jessica were walking down the tan coloured footpath down to the markets, Anthony had asked to two of them to get some berries for his mixed berry pie he's going to make for dessert. The musicians in the marketplace was filling the area with kinds of music, although Jessica dislikes loud sounds due to her autism, she didn't mind the music, in fact she enjoyed it. They walked past different places on their way to the greengrocer including the Wiggle Town Library, which gave the young Wiggle and idea. "What if I wrote a nursery rhyme book to have in the library?" she said excitedly "That would be a great idea, and you can even draw the pictures in your nursery rhyme book!" Jeff agreed. Soon they walked into the marketplace and Jessica ran off in excitement "Hey! Wait for me!" Jeff called out as he tried to catch up to Jessica. They continued to walk through the bustling marketplace after they caught up to one another, soon they stopped at the greengrocer to get the berries, the place was full of fruit and vegetables including apples, oranges, carrots, lettuce, lemons, broccoli, peppers, bananas, watermelons, beets, grapes and of course berries. They looked at all of the different berries "Maybe these berries are good for the mixed berry pie" Jessica asked, she has her basket full of blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and cranberries. "That would be plenty for Anthony to use in his pie." Jeff replied while he place some strawberries into Jessica's basket, they walked to the person who owns the greengrocer, Jeff paid for the berries they picked, and they walked out back to the Wiggle Town marketplace "How about we stop for some morning tea before we head home." the purple Wiggle suggested, Jessica agreed as the clocktower was about to strike 10'o clock.
The two of them sat down at the café together in the warm sun, Jessica had a small slice of strawberry cake and a glass of apple juice while Jeff had a blueberry tart and some white honey tea. "You know Jessica, a nursery rhyme book as a lot of rhymes in them, that would be a bit lot on your plate." he said while taking drink from his tea, "Don't worry about it Jeff, I find things to inspire me, I'll start out with 'Alphabet Pie' because we're going to have the mixed berry pie for dessert when we get home." she assured Jeff, after they've done with their cakes, Jessica got her berry filled basket and they started to walk home, arm in arm.
Meanwhile back in the Wigglehouse, Anthony was busy kneading the dough to create the pie's crust, by the time the crust was finished and in the pie tin, Jeff and Jessica came home, "We're home!" she called out cheerfully "We got the berries like you asked us." she added as she walked into the kitchen to give berries to Anthony, he thanked her and took a handful of each berry type and put them into the saucepan. As the berry jam was getting made, Sam and Murray walked in as well "That berry filling sure smells sweet." the yellow Wiggle said "Jessica, Jeff, how was your walk this morning?" Murray asked as he hugged Jessica "It was great and while we were out, I thought I could write and draw a nursery rhyme book." Jessica answered, the other Wiggles were thrilled to hear Jessica's idea "That would be great for you, our creative little girl!" Sam said with a smile "I'll get started with the first page of the book." she said was she walked upstairs to her room, "We'll call you down for lunch once it's ready." Anthony called back.
Jessica sat down on her drawing desk in her bedroom and got a lot of paper to use in her book, 86 sheets in total for her book "Now where to start…" she said to herself quietly as she got her pencil to draw her rough sketch of the page, there was a big pie with 26 quarters with each quarter having 1 letter of the alphabet, it also has a small group of little people around the pie and the words and title to the rhyme "Now that the sketch is done, it's time to outline it." she said to herself again. Once she finished the pages outline, she heard "Jessica it's time for lunch." she called back, "I'm coming!" she got up from her desk and walked down the staircase down to the kitchen where the Wiggles were sitting at the table.
Sitting of each of the 5 coloured placemats was toast and eggs and sitting in the middle of the table was the mixed berry pie cut into 8 quarters so each of the 4 Wiggles could each have a slice now and another after dinner. Although Jessica didn't feel too hungry, she had one of the toast and eggs, Anthony made sure they have something that Jessica can eat because she is also sensitive to flavours of food. After she finished her lunch, she got up from the table and started to walk back up the stairs to continue her work, the Wiggles leaned over the table to get a slice of the pie each "This is very delicious pie, this is one of your best one yet Anthony!" Murray smiled and took another bite Sam and Jeff both nodded in agreement. When all the Wiggles were finished with their pie, they all got up and started to clean up the kitchen "Sam, Anthony." Jeff started "Murray and I are going to be upstairs to some of our housework." he continued, Murray teased him by saying "Don't you be sleeping on the housework." "I promise I won't" Jeff replied with a laugh.
As the two of them walked through the hall and past Jessica's room, they peeped into the bedroom to see what their girl was up to "She's working very hard in here." Jeff whispered to Murray "It won't hurt to take a quick look at how the book is going." he whispered back. Murray and Jeff walked to Jessica who was now colouring in the page, when they looked down, they saw the alphabet pie, the slices that had X, Y, and Z were cut from the rest of it and showed that the pie had a blue and purple filling in it. Jessica didn't notice that Jeff and Murray were watching her colour "I know I want to stay here and watch her, but we've still got to do our chores." Jeff whispered again and started to walk out of the bedroom with Murray following after him soon after.
After Jessica was finished with the page, it was close to dinner. "I can't wait to show them my first page for my nursery rhyme book!" she thought to herself as she walked down the stairs. The Wiggles were just finishing up their chores and were walking to the living room. "Wiggles, I want to show you something!" she called out as she walked to where they were sitting. She placed the finished page onto the coffee table, they were excited to see the start of her nursery rhyme book "Jessica, that looks great!" Sam said in excitement, "And a great start for the readers!" Jeff added. "I'll have to clean my desk now." she said looking up the staircase toward her room, "And we have to get started on dinner for all of us." Jeff added. Sam, Murray, Jeff, and Anthony got up and left the living room to get dinner while Jessica got her page and walked back upstairs to clean her room.
After they had dinner and another slice of pie, they all cleaned themselves up and got ready for bed, Jessica Wiggle was still a bit excited for her art project, but she was able to get to sleep under her light purple quilt and pink blanket on top of her and her tactile stuffed bear close to her chest.
