"Carlisle, my dear friend you must understand us. Your Coven was already big before you merged with the Denali's. The Volturi simply cannot condone it." Aro spoke. Caius was standing next to him looking furious as ever, but to be fair, I think that's just his face.
"It seems your coven is desperate to declare war Carlisle. Trying to outnumber the Volturi, you dare!" He shouts. Aro put his hand up, signalling Caius to stop. "Calm down brother, I'm sure that isn't the case. Is it Carlisle?" Aro asks Carlisle who stood far back with his coven, many other vampires standing by them. Interesting. Alice must have seen this coming.
"Then why are there other vampires standing behind you? You're planning to bring down the Volturi!" Caius started up again. Earning snarls from the Volturi members behind him.
"We mean no harm, we wanted others to vouch for us. Show the Volturi we only want to live in peace together. Our Coven members are mated, we only wish to live together as one. Please Aro my friend, understand us." Carlisle states calmly.
"There is only one way to make sure that that is, in fact, true," Aro says. Carlisle nods. "Of course. Let our Alice show you." Carlisle motioned to someone behind him. I watched as Alice started making her way to the Volturi but was quickly stopped by Marcus.
"Stop. Brother, why don't we bring someone else to help us with this predicament? It will be sure to clear this issue completely, without worrying about an attack in the future. We can stop this back and forth once and for all." Aro laughs joyously at his brother's idea. "Very well Marcus, bring her."
"I believe she is already here, she was meeting with another seer on her trip to Ireland. We will have to wait and see if she decided to aid us after all. You know how she is." Jane chuckles darkly. "Only she would have the audacity to turn down the Volturi." Marcus lets out a small fond smile. Aw, rats! Now I have to go. I watched as Alice looked at the ground in confusion. Her earlier vision of the future disappearing. I smiled and shielded the entire Volturi. I started making my way into the field, walking slowly as I started to make myself known to the Volturi. I watched Alice and Jasper turn around to see who it was they heard coming up behind them. I quickly looked away before we could make eye contact, keeping a neutral expression on. How long has it been since I last saw the Cullens? How long had it been since they left me behind?
I sighed. No matter, I would make this quick. "Marcus, thank you for forcing me to be here," I said in a deadpan voice. He smiled. "You came here on your own little one."
"I was about to leave but I got curious. That seer was quite adamant I be here. Who was I to argue with my elders."
"Isabella, would you mind seeing if the Cullens are being truthful? I think we all would like to be done with this visit." Aro asked with a smile on his face. I nodded. "Very well." I turned around and kept my eyes on Carlisle, refusing to look at any of the other Cullen members. "Which one?" I asked.
"Whichever you like Isabella", Caius answered. I needed to do what I came here for, my anger towards the Cullens was not to be brought up at this moment. Think Bella, who would be unable to hide what their true intentions are? Esme… I could use her obvious shock at my arrival to my advantage.
I walked over to the Cullens, stopping in front of a wide-eyed Esme. "Bella…" she whispered. I ignored her. "Your hand, Mrs Cullen. Please." I added to soften her up. She distractedly offered her hand and I closed my eyes to let her thoughts come forward. Past images of human Bella flowed through her brain and then a conversation she tried to not think about flashed by. I stopped at that scene as if it was a YouTube video I was skimming by. I let the scene play out watching Jasper teach the vampires around them how to fight against an army of vampires. Impressive, but not too bad to have to mention to the Volturi. I zoned back in when I watched Edward ask what they'd do if it came down to a fight. "We have to be realistic Carlisle. When we show up at that field, the Volturi will be prepared for a fight. Their skills and gifts will outnumber us all. We're fighting all because of Emmett and Irina! Just let Emmett leave! He's nothing but a childish nuisance anyway." I watched the girl Edward pointed at, Irina, glare at Edward angrily. "You know you're always welcome to leave you know? You are the one with the problem." Edward rolled his eyes and shut his mouth after that. The family looked angered at Edward's comment. "We're a family, Edward, we won't let it come to choosing one or the other. We'll handle this together. Although, Edward's comment on the Volturi being prepared for a fight is valid. We'll need to think of some kind of distraction. An upper hand." Carlisle said thoughtfully. "The wolves! They were the ones that killed Laurent. And we know they aren't the biggest fans of our kind, they'll help if it lets them kill a few 'bloodsuckers'" Said another blonde vampire. "Carlisle, call Sam." I watched Esme say eagerly. I skipped through the scene and watched the pack and the vampires meet at the treaty line. I watched as they all came to an agreement, Sam accepting to help the Cullens in their fight.
I opened my eyes and let go of Esme's hand. I fed off of Edward's gift and tapped into Carlisle and Esme's thoughts. She doesn't look like she knows, perhaps we have succeeded. Why isn't Edward answering me? Bella's heart still beats. She isn't one of us. So how is she so close to the Volturi? Carlisle thought.
Bella… Bella… how? Well, that doesn't give me a lot to work with Esme. Ah, poor Cullens. I turned and looked at Irina and the other two blondes in Esme's thoughts. Hmm, I wonder who they are… I saw Emmett by Irina's side and Edward standing next to him. Edward… I can't believe I ever loved that boy.
I looked over at the anxious but calm look Carlisle was giving me. I couldn't help but laugh internally at their pain. Ah yes, I got mine but you definitely got yours, Cullens. I let a small smile start to take over my features. I watched Carlisle look at me confused at my sudden change of attitude. I made my thoughts clear when I slowly looked behind them and towards the forest. I knew the wolves were now making their way over here, waiting for their cue. Carlisle and a few others shifted nervously when they realised their plan was found out. I smirked at the anger that was showing on the other two blondes' faces.
I heard Aro and Marcus run over to me. Caius staying back with the rest of the group. "Well? What did you see?" Demanded Aro.
"They're safe, they mean no harm." Aro's head snapped to me in shock. "Truly?" Marcus was looking at me in interest. I tilted my head at Irina and Emmett. I abruptly started to giggle, my giggling turning into full-on psychotic laughter. I stopped suddenly my face back to the normal neutral expression I always wore. "Mm. They're not trying anything. The Volturi will be fine, The Cullens will be no threat to you." I said in a bored tone. I moved away from Aro and Marcus, crouching down to swirl the soft snow under my finger. "Pretty," I mumbled. Gathering snow into my hand and making a snowball.
"This has been a waste of our time, let us go brothers," Caius said. The sounds of him running off along with other Volturi members were heard. Many of the unknown vampires with the Cullens left immediately too after a few words. Leaving only five other vampires I had yet to acquaint myself with. "Bella, are you coming with us?" Asked Alec. I turned around quickly throwing the snowball in his direction. The snowball landed perfectly on his face, the snow trailing down his face. I smiled at that. "Bullseye!"
He snarled, whipping the snow off his face. Nice one Bella, it was just what he deserved. I heard Jane say in her thoughts. I laughed and bowed. "I aim to please."
"Well? Are you coming or what?" Alec asked again. I shook my head, turning back to the snow. "I have plans for this field." I said. Thinking of all the things I could do with this blank canvas. "Like what?" Aro asked. "A massacre." I answered with a smirk on my face. "Goodbye, little one," Marcus called. The four remaining Volturi members vanish out of sight.
"My Bella! What have they done to you?!" I watched Edward run to me in slow motion. "Oh, I've been waiting years for this." I spun around landing a back kick to his crotch and sending him flying.
Carlisle took a step forward, concern written all over his face, Esme behind him clutching onto his arm. "Apologies. I couldn't help myself. If you plan to be here much longer, do you mind putting him on a leash?" I asked, with a sweet smile on my face.
"To be fair, she was doing what we all wanted to do for a while now." The blonde with long straight hair said, a cunning smile on her face. My eyebrows lifted at that. I let out a surprised laugh.
"Huh, you seem right up my alley. What is your name by the way? I'm well acquainted with the Cullens but I don't believe I know you five."
The cunning blonde walked up to me, hand held out. "Kate Denali, it's a pleasure." She had a growing smirk on her face. I looked down at her hand and smiled. I grabbed her hand, internally laughing as her face dropped. "Isabella. It's nice to meet you." I left her shocked and moved on to the other two blondes. "I know who you are, Irina Denali, I presume?" Irina looked me over quizzically and nodded her head. I looked at the woman beside her. "I'm Tanya Denali, Coven leader of the Denali Clan." I smiled politely and moved over to the last mated couple. "I'm Eleazer and this is my wife Carmen. I see you are immune to Kate's gift. I'd assume you were a shield but you don't seem to be one of our kind." I hummed in agreement but didn't try to quench his thirst for knowledge.
I looked over at Emmett. Oh, she's looking at me. I laughed. "I thought Ms Hale was your mate? how did all of this…" I said motioning to everyone around him. "Happen?" His eyes widened. "Rosie and I were never mated! We were just best friends!" Emmett said quickly when he heard his mate growl at him. I giggled. "Feisty, that one," I said with childish glee. I wiped the smile off my head and looked over at Rosalie then. As soon as my eyes found her, standing beside Alice and Jasper, I froze. It was all too much. The feelings, the quickening of my heartbeat that I had quickly shielded from the vampire's ears, replacing the noise with a continued steady heartbeat. I knew what was happening as soon as my eyes met hers. I blinked and tilted my head at Rosalie, trying to make it seem as if I was analysing her. "Ms Hale, was your hair colour brown before?" Seriously that's what you come up with. Pathetic.
"What?" She asked in confusion. I bit my lip in consideration, continuing the act. "I could've sworn you were a brunette." I sighed out. "Huh, I suppose I never did pay that much attention to you. I did think Emmett was your mate after all. Oh well." I watched as her eye twitched and her jaw clenched. I needed to leave now. These Cullens have only been around me for a few minutes and I was already losing my mind. My plans for this snowy field would have to wait. What a shame.
"Right, well I'm off. Ta-ta." Alice who had been silent this whole time finally spoke up. "Wait! You have to stay, we haven't even properly talked yet. There's obviously a lot we don't know about you." I turned around sharply, faster than any human was capable of.
"Do you think I owe you an explanation, Alice?" I said slowly and quietly. Jasper was eyeing me now, preparing himself to protect his mate if need be. Alice quickly shook her head. "We haven't seen you in so long Bella, I just-"
"And whose fault is that?" I interrupted, the anger starting to seep out. I took a deep breath and looked back to a now snowless Edward. "My love please, come home, we can talk about this." I groaned and slapped my hand against my forehead. "Oh, my God! Let me make myself perfectly clear Edward Cullen. Are you listening? There is more chance of me eloping with Donald Trump, than there is of you and I ever getting back together." I said beyond frustrated with this guy.
"Damn Eddie! Bella Bear just ruined you." I narrowed my eyes at Emmett, Edward glaring at him.
"Bella I understand your anger with us, but if I may. What are you?" I rolled my eyes at Carlisle. "It's none of your concern, Dr Cullen. I'm not one of your Coven members, you don't need to know about my life. Now for the last time, goodbye. Oh, and don't do anything stupid Cullen. You got away alive today because I chose to keep my mouth shut. Don't do something that will put you under the Volturi's radar, I won't be there to help you again." I walked away with that and started to run as soon as I was out of sight.
Forks... you really seem to hate having me here.
