It was a beautiful day in BugCity and the sun rises over the horizon. The sunlight shines threw the window of the house of Rosie, Dim and Maggie. Rosie was Making sleepy sounds while in her hammock, Dim and Maggie were making animal sounds and purring while cuddling with each other.

Moments later. Rosie slowly but surely woke up and she stretch her legs and arms and got out of her spider hammock. Rosie smiles and lets Dim and Maggie rest for a little while Rosie cleans up. Rosie brushes her hair and puts on her makeup.

Meanwhile As Rosie was in the bathroom cleaning up. Dim and Maggie were sleeping and making purring sounds. Maggie was a little bit dreaming again.

—Flashback starts-

We see when Maggie and Dim were little kids ( larvae's) Young Maggie was playing and her parents called her over because they wanted her to meet their friends son, Dim. For the first time. Young Maggie went over to her parents.

Maggie's Mother: " Maggie this is Our friends son, Dim!"

Young Maggie sees a shy young boy Dim was hiding behind his parents.

Dim's Mother: " Dim it's okay this is our dear friends little daughter Maggie, why don't you say Hi!"Dim's Mother gently reassured her young shy son Dim.

Young Dim shyly looks at Young Maggie.

Young Maggie :" Hi Dim, I'm Maggie!"

Young Dim shyly wasn't sure how to go about it.

Young Maggie cutely dose animal like play like a Lion cub.

Young Dim shyly wasn't sure what Maggie was doing.

Young Dim felt shy.

Dim's mother :" Dim it's okay Sweetheart. Maggie is wanting to play with you."

Dim's mother gently gave Her shy son a reassuring nudge with her horn in animal like method.

Young Dim shyly but surely appoarched Young Maggie .

Young Dim :" H Hello!"

Young Maggie cutely accidentally knocked Young Dim down.

Maggie's and Dim's parents gasped for a moment.

Young Dim started crying.

Young Maggie felt bad for knocking Young Dim down.

Young Maggie !" Sorry Dim!"

Dims parents reassured their son.

Young Maggie frowns sadly.

Young Maggie :" I didn't mean to knock down Dim!"

Maggie's Mom:"Just gotta be more careful Is all Maggie!"

Maggie's father:" We know you're only wanting to be friends with Dim, They said Dim is a little shy it will take him time to warm up to you!"

Young Maggie :" Oohh!" How long will that take !"

Maggies' Father:" Not sure exactly but by time you'll know!" Good news is their enrolling Dim in the same kindergarten program that you're in, so you'll get to see Dim there too!"

Young Maggie:" Wow!" Cool do you think Dim will want to be friends with me!"

Maggie's Father:" It will take time but I'm pretty sure Dim will want too!"

—- flashback ends—

Maggie slowly but surely wakes up and Dim slowly but surely feels Maggie waking up too.

Maggie opens her eyes, Dim slowly but surely opens his eyes and yawns like a lion, and got up Maggie did the same.

Maggie says!" Good morning Dim!"

Dim Shyly says!" Good morning Maggie!"

Maggie says "How did you sleep?"

Dim Shyly says " Dim slept okay, Maggie!"

Maggie says!" Thats wonderful Dimmy , I mean Dim." Maggie facepalm herself and blushes.

Dim Shyly chuckled characteristically.

Dim Shyly says!" Dim knows what you meant , Maggie!"

Dim Shyly nudged Maggie . Maggie returned the embrace while purring .

Seconds later. Rosie came out and to see Dim and Maggie were up and were nudging each-other in a cute way.

Rosie smiles in awwe.

Rosie says!" Aww, Good morning Dim , Maggie honeys!"

Maggie shyly says !" Good morning Miss Rosie!"

Dim Shyly says!" Good morning Mom!"

Rosie says!" Did you honey's sleep well."

Maggie shyly says!" Yes we did!"

Rosie says!" Thats wonderful Maggie honey!"

Moments later . Rosie, Dim and Maggie cleaned up and eat their meal, and they met up with the other Circus Bugs.

The Circus Bugs greeted each other with hugs and kisses. And Of course Maggie was nervous, Dim Shyly reassured Maggie. Rosie helped Dim reassure Maggie as well. The Circus bug's decided to go see the ants.

The Circus Bugs took off to ant island.

Then once they got to ant island and landed on the ground. The ants were happy to see their circus bug friends again. The ants and Circus bugs greeted each-other with hugs and kisses.

Queen Atta says!" It's wonderful to see you guys !"

King Flik says!" Long time no see guys!"

Manny says!" It's wonderful to see you both again my dears Flik and Atta!"

Princess Dot says!" Hi everyone!"

The Circus Bugs says!" Hi Dot!"

Dim Shyly chuckled characteristically. Dim is too shy to say anything.

Princess Dot says: " Happy Late Birthday Dim , Maggie!"

Rosie says:" Aww Thank You Dot honey!" Dim , Maggie what do you say!"

Maggie shyly but surely says:" Thank You little Princess."

Dim Shyly says!" Thank you little ant!"

Princess Dot says!" You're Welcome!"

Meanwhile the Circus bugs and the ants are taking. Four ant teen bullies were watching Them, and they are interested in Dim and Maggie.

One ant says:" Hey boys check this out, Ain't that the rhino beetle who was supposed to been dating Sapphire."

The other ant bully says!" Yeah that sure is, he has a new girlfriend with him."

The ant bully leader says!" I say we give that rhino beetle a piece of our mind for cheating on Sapphire ."

The ant boy teens nodded and agreed.

—Later that day —

During the visit on ant island, The royal ant family and the Circus bugs were hanging out.

Sapphire who is now just friends with Dim and Maggie. Sapphire has actually see if wanting to invite them to her 19 birthday bash coming up. Sapphire of course asks permission first.

Sapphire says!" I'm having a birthday bash , would you like to come Maggie , Dim!"

Dim Shyly was unsure at first.

Maggie shyly says!" It sure sounds like fun!" But aren't me and Dim too young to be with 19 year olds."

Sapphire says!" No need to worry, I invited friends who aren't even my age some are yours and Dim's age too!"

Dim felt shy at the idea.

Rosie reassures Dim. Maggie shyly reassures Dim as well by nudging each other in an animal like method.

Rosie says!" Aww , That would be amazing Sapphire!" Thats thoughtful that you want invite Dim and Maggie!" When will it be ?"

Sapphire says!" It will be this weekend."

Rosie says!" That's awesome Sapphire honey!"

What do you think Maggie , Dim honeys!"

Maggie shyly but surely says!" I don't know, I think I would only go if Dim went?"

Since Maggie is still getting adjusted to things, she hasn't quite gotten comfortable yet. She doesn't really know Sapphire that well!"

Sapphire said!" It's no pressure I gotta go but let me know if you change your mind!"

Sapphire left for a moment to finish giving out her other invitations.

Maggie would be comfortable with Dim.

Rosie says!" Dim honey what do you think, Maggie would only go if you went honey." No pressure though Honey!"

Dim shyly thinks about it. Dim Shyly moans and then comes to decision.

Dim Shyly says!" Dim will go to party too." Dim don't know what blue ant would want though?"

Rosie says!" Aww It's okay Dim. No need to worry honey, I'll go ask Sapphire okay honey!"

Dim Shyly nodded his head.

Rosie went to go tell Sapphire that Dim and Maggie Will attend.

Dim Shyly moans and sighs.

Maggie knows something Is troubling him.

Maggie shyly says." Dim is there something bothering you!"

Dim Shyly says: " Dim just don't like being pressured is all , Dim gets nervous,Dim doesn't feel comfortable with other ants staring at Dim is all."

Maggie shyly but surely understands.

Maggie shyly says:" It's okay Dim, I know how you feel this is very new to me." I don't know Sapphire that well either!" But I do appreciate your wanting to do so for me!" Thank you!"

Sapphire shyly smiles and kisses Dim on his cheek.

Dim Shyly smiles.

Dim Shyly says!" You're Welcome Maggie, Dim would be with you!"

Maggie and Dim shyly nudging each other in an animal like method, While purring and Giving each other love and affection. Showing their love for each other as Childhood BFFs )Or could even say Boyfriend and Girlfriend).

Since it is confirmed.

When Dim and Maggie without warning.

Four ant boy teen bullies surrounded them !

Maggie shyly and freaked out.

Maggie says!" Dim they're watching us!"

Dim Shyly growled to protect Maggie from them and was growling directly at the ant teen bullies.

The leader says!" Well well what have we here!" Look at this boys we have two rhino beetles in love."

The ant boy teen bullies laughed, and started teasing them.

One of them says!" Hey there toots!" How about pollinating with a real bug."

As he looked directly at Maggie.

The ant teen bullies started laughing.

Maggie shyly wasn't comfortable with that the flirty ant doing that. She stayed close By Dim.

Dim Shyly growled and snarled was getting ready to start to charge at the bullies.

As if Dim was feeling provoked. Showing push me one more time.

Another ant bully says:" Haha I'm so scared!" What are you gonna do, Scare us!"

Another ant bully says:" haha!"

The ant bully teen did the unthinkable and he threw a berry at Maggie.

Maggie shyly gasped and realized berry juice is all over her.

Maggie was getting nervous because Two of the teen bullies were advancing on Maggie.

Maggie says:" Dim help!"

As if on cue.

Dim Shyly but surely turned around and face the bullies and Dim starts growling and charging at them while snarling and roaring at them.

The Two ant bully teens reacted and started running away. Just as Dim caught on to them, Dim snarled and rammed them by nailing them with his horn and which sent them flying in the air and falling on the ground and fainted to the ground.

And of course the rest of the Circus bugs and the royal ants reacted and came over to help the situation.

Rosie got over to Poor Maggie to help clean her off , Maggie was shaking scaredly.

Rosie reassured Maggie.

Rosie says!" Maggie where's Dim!"

Maggie says!" Dim is kicking those mean ant bullies abdomens!" While she's shaking.

Rosie gently calms Maggie down.

Once Rosie saw Dim , Dim was sure making a work out of the bullies.

Rosie says!" Go Dim!"Go get 'em honey!"

Francis says!" Show those parasites who boss , Dim!"

The remaining ant boy teen bully tried to avoid Dim, But than Dim caught sight of him, The ant boy teen screamed in fear. Than one was left Was the leader. The leader of the group saw Dim, Dim saw the leader and once linked eyes on each other. Dim Shyly started growling and snarling at the leader of the group. Dim was only 5 foot away from him, The leader gets scared.

The leader says!" Ahh, Please don't hurt me, Please I give ! I give!" Please!"

Dim Shyly growled and snarled and makes animal like snort. Dim turns around and walks away.

The leader sighs in relief and smirks sinisterly.

The leader says! Hah ha loser!"

Dim overheard and turned back around and started growling and roaring and charged at the leader and this time Dim rammed the ant boy bully leader with his horn so quickly that the leader ant bully didn't have time to respond or react. And got knocked out unconscious.

Once that happened. The other Circus Bugs and the ants were amazed by the way Dim handled them.

King Flik says!" Wow , Dim surely showed them!"

Queen Atta says!" Dim can be pretty fierce !"

Francis says!" Rosie has trained Dim for this type of situation!"

Slim says!" Dim can be pretty ferocious too."

Molt says!" Wow ! Dim is very remarkable!"

Rosie goes to over to calm Dim down.

Dim was growling a little bit at the unconscious bully.

Rosie came over to Dim.

Rosie reassured Dim by petting Dim on his horn. Dim Shyly but surely calms down.

Rosie says!" Wow easy boy ! It's okay Dim, You got that mean bully honey!" They won't bother you and Maggie no more!"

Dim Shyly blushes smiles .

Rosie petts Dim on his smooth freckled horn, Dim purrs while nudging His trainer/ mom gently.

Dim Shyly says!" Is Maggie okay , Mom!"

Rosie smiles and says :" Maggie is okay now Dim honey!"

Maggie shyly but surely appoarched Dim.

Maggie shyly nudged Dim. Dim Shyly returned the embrace. While both of Dim and Maggie were purring in animal like method. Showing their love and affection for each other and showing they're both okay.

Everyone went in aww.

The Circus Bugs and the ant's decided to get Dim and Maggie to make sure they are okay by Dr Flora .

—later that night—

As it got late. The Circus Bugs bid the ants goodnight for the day.

And once they left ant island. And flew back to BugCity. And once they have landed.

The Circus Bugs bid each other Goodnight and went to their partnering homes and went to bed. The last ones to go to bed were Rosie, Dim and Maggie.

Rosie helped tuck in Dim and Maggie into bed.

Rosie says!" I'm so glad you're both okay!" I'm proud of you especially Dim for helping Maggie out!"

Dim Shyly blushes red and smiles.

Maggie shyly says:" Yeah thank you Dim, for protecting me." You're my hero!"

Dim Shyly blushes and smiles.

Dim Shyly says:" Your Welcome Maggie, Dim wanted to Make sure, that Maggie was okay!"

Maggie shyly embraced Dim, Dim Shyly returned the embrace. By purring and nudging each other showing love and compassion.

Rosie smiles and says:" Aww Dim , Maggie you two love bugs!"

Moments later. Rosie got Dim and Maggie situated in bed. Dim and Maggie were tired from the day. They cuddled together and Rosie lulled them to sleep. Rosie pets Dim and Maggie on their smooth freckled horns. To soothe them. And Puts on the night light for Dim and Maggie. Dim and Maggie fell fast asleep. Rosie stood up and got into her sleeping hammock and she falls fast asleep.

Whew! I absolutely loved and enjoyed this new a bugs life one shot I wrote . Omg I love how Dim took down bullies just to protect Maggie. Dim definitely doesn't mess around when it comes to bullies despite his shyness. He can pretty ferocious too. It was cute how Maggie said to Dim that he was her hero.

I felt bad for Maggie being picked on by the bullies but thanks to Dim's bravery. I liked how I added a reference (want to pollinate with a real bug) this Scene was hilarious from the original a bugs life film. And I also love how True Dim and Maggie's character development has been. In the A Bugs Life universe.
