The Wedding
"You're the kind of love that feels like coming home.
You found me broken, swept all my pieces, and put them right in your heart.
You're the kind of love that feels like a warm, summer breeze.
You dust me up, you lift me up, you erase all the bad memories.
You're the kind of love that feels like a long car drive.
You look my darkness in the eye and kiss it all away."
Jasper looked at the song lyrics he'd been writing then balled up the paper and tossed it away.
"Not good enough."
He really needed something spectacular to wow Alice. It was their wedding day and he wanted it to be perfect for her.
He thought back to everything they had faced together and a smile lit up his features at the thought of finally calling Alice his wife.
"Edward!" I yelled. My brother arrived a second later looking a bit annoyed at being summoned so rudely. I thrust the rolled up ball of lyrics at him.
"Make it better."
Edward unfolded the little piece of parchment. His eyes grew softer as he read through it.
"Jasper, it's beautiful."
"It's not good enough for Alice" Jasper growled, frustrated that he couldn't come up with a better song.
"It is. And you know she would love it even if it was a lot worse. She loves you, Jazz. Just breathe."
"I don't know man. After everything we've been through, this day just has to be perfect. It needs to be everything that she dreamed about."
"It will be. Just don't overthink it."
Jasper narrowed his eyes at his brother. "You do know you're not talking to Emmett, right?"
Edward laughed. "It's good. Just sing with your heart and you'll be fine"
Jasper took in a deep breath. "Maybe you're right."
"I always am. Now relax! Tomorrow's gonna be a big day for the both of you."
Jasper nodded absent-mindedly. His mind was already miles away. He was thinking of the day he met Alice for the first time.
It was so long ago that it now felt like once upon a time.
That is a good way to start their story.
Once upon a timeā¦.
