Disclaimer : I do not own anything.
This wasn't darkness. Rather a vast emptiness.
The Void.
The creature had specified as such.
An unfeeling, undisturbed yet oddly peaceful silence prevailed.
Nothing existed here. Neither light nor sound. By whatever means I did was beyond me.
I couldn't see nor feel my body. There was no involuntary breathing, no sense of touch, smell or sight.
Is this what was meant to be intangible? To not possess a body?
It was unsettling at best.
I tried to move-

I saw felt than saw the void shift.
There was something before me. I could not see it, yet I felt it- completely dwarfing my consciousness. As if the entire existence of the Void had converged before me.
I could feel it regarding me, judging me as one would a particularly interesting ant.

Then it moved.
Pain lanced through my supposedly non existent body.

The pain intensified as the void coalesced in to a sea of nothingness, a storm focussed on me.

The sea of emptiness abruptly crashed to a halt with a silent roar.
I awoke with a start, gasping for air, bedsheets crumpled and damp with sweat.
A splitting headache greeted me, not that it was uncommon now.
I slipped out of bed, and waddled my way to the ornate wooden door. It opened easily. A wave of dizziness greeted me as I stumbled onto the hallway.
It was empty as always. No one wanted to die to a stray hole in reality, a frequent occurrence around me.

My headache seemed to be worsening..

The doorway behind me gave an almighty screech as it was sucked into a hole of nothingness that had come to exist somewhere around it.
I could feel the distant presences of the few guards and servants being swept away in a burst of energy.
Teleportation spells.
They did not want to be caught up in what was to come

Wooden flooring, chandeliers, portraits rattled as another ball of nothing came to exist right before me, intent on devouring every inch of reality.
A part of me was screaming in glee, given whatever causing this would be an uncontrolled extension of myself.

Glass panes shattered, frames came off, flowing seamlessly into the twin gaping holes which were slowly merging into one.
With gargantuan effort I pushed myself off the floor. I intended to stop this.
Last time this happened half of the family castle was missing, my father was near dead and my sister was looking at me with untold horror as they teleported away. That was a year ago.
The pain in body seemed to recede as I reached my hands towards the now singular dark cavity in the air.

For a cursory moment I was standing in the Void of my dreams again. The vast existence of the entire emptiness converged before me once more.
In the next instant I was back on the chipped wooden floor. The headache was gone and so were the pits in reality, leaving me spent and gasping.
It took me some time to stabilise myself. I took a weary glance upward. The entirety of the roof was missing, exposing the artificial moon above. The bedroom I was sleeping in was gone, so was the once pristine hallway.
A broken magic circle stood on the opposite end of the hallway. I was told it was ancient demonic language, first created by our ancestor, the Agares.
My gaze snapped up at the sky where a green magic circle had materialised. The Agares magic circle had a blue activation signal, this was different.
Whoever was coming was deliberately holding the spell down, judging for threats on this side. A moment passed and an immaculately dressed figure materialised as the spell faded.
The shadows that inhabited this land clung to him fiercely making him appear a grotesque combination of black and violent green to the mind's eye.
He landed next to me, stepping on a piece of glass in the process. A lone eye judged my haggled appearance. He towered over me, then again most would over a two year old.
"Revan Agares I presume?"
At my silent nod. He continued. "Your father sent me to assess your…" A cursory glance took in the wayward destruction. "condition."
"W-who are you?" My voice came out raspy as I absently realised that I needed water. Somehow I knew the answer to my own question before he replied.
Ajuka Astaroth
A hand extended towards me in a gesture of friendship.
"Ajuka Beelzebub." He replied with a faint smile.
