BTW, this is in an alternate universe, where they all went to an elite private school.

Most chapters will be from Bridgette's perspective, but there will be quite a few from other people's perspectives.

Chapter 1: How I Got Into This Mess

So. How did I get into this mess? Me, standing on the stage, with a whole lot of chaos around. I mean, I tried. I tried so hard to stay out of the drama. And yet, I still found myself as the victim. How? I'm not the easiest person to push around, nor am I a suck-up. But it doesn't matter how I got into this mess. It matters about what I can do moving forward. Since you're probably confused, I'm gonna start from the start. The beginning.

"Mom, do I seriously have to go serve at uncle Ben's ice cream shop?" I asked. Every sunday, I had to go, scoop ice cream, and get exactly 10 dollars for myself. I didn't wanna go because I have a letter coming in today, which will tell me my fate if I go to Wawanawkwa High or not. "I'll call you if a letter for you comes in, okay?" My mom reassures me. I'm not so sure about if she's being honest or just trying to get me out of the house. I decided to trust her. "Okay, Bye!" I say cheerfully, before looking for my skateboard. I don't usually use it, but If I wanna get there quick, I gotta do what I gotta do.

I was skateboarding quickly down a road, when I saw someone else, a blonde haired boy with a pink shirt, skateboarding too. I bumped into him, and we both fell. "You alright?" he asks. I look at my skateboard. It's busted. I grab the pieces and run off, not answering the guy. I feel bad, but I'm also late. And uncle Ben does not like people who are late.

"Bridgette! Get scoopin!" My uncle Ben tells me. I don't like this job. But I grab my scooper, and put scoops of ice cream on cones. "Have a nice day!" I say cheerfully to the man who bought the ice cream.

I'm pooped. It's been exactly 2 hours since my shift started, and my break begins in ten minutes. "Hi! What would you like?" I ask an edgy, black haired teen. He replies, "Chocolate, hot stuff." I raise my eyebrows. "How many..scoops?" The boy responds, "Oh, as many as you're luscious eyes." I go to the back and grab two scoops of chocolate. I put the scoops on the cone, and then give the full cone to the emo boy. He winks at me and sneaks off. I ask myself, Who are they and what do they want from me?

My shift was finally done. It's 5pm, and I'm ready to go home. I haven't got the call from mom, so I guess I'm going to the public school, where the bathrooms are filled with who-knows-what, the classes teach you absolutely NOTHING, and the cafeteria food is no better then cardboard purple slop. I walk home, and look around my surroundings. the sun was setting, there were beautiful trees, and the pavement was so dirty, it seemed clean.

"Bridgette!" My mom exclaims anxiously as I enter the room. "What?" I respond. She grabs a letter out of her pocket.

It's from Wawanawkwa High.

"What..You didn't call me!" I exclaimed. My mom explained, "I called just as you were leaving! I'm sorry!" I looked at my mom in pure joy, then grabbed the letter, and sat on the couch.

Dear Bridgette Summers,

Welcome to Wawanawkwa! You have been accepted into our institution with flying colours. You will be in DORM A4, with Beth Yentsten, Heather Kasuga, and Sierra Skyze.

I can't believe it. I really was saved from the terrors of public school! I would be jumping up and down in joy, but I decided to just smile. And that's what I'm gonna do for the entire school year. Just smile, no drama.
