The walk to the diner was surprisingly uneventful. Kara tested her powers and was grateful to discover they worked exactly as they did in National City.

"Yeah, that's probably because it's the same sun," Bella deadpanned.

Rosalie pushed her, and Bella stumbled to the side.

"Hey!"

"Stop being mean," Rosalie said.

"I'm not!"

"Yeah, she's really not," Emmett said.

"This is her on a good day," Kieran added, shrugging.

"How embarrassing," Rosalie sighed. "I can't believe this is my soulmate."

"Uh, hello? Your soul picked me first."

Rosalie scowled and whispered something to Bella that made Kara snicker and Emmett to let out a booming laugh. Bella whined under her breath and pouted, and Rosalie wore a smug smirk the entire rest of the way.

Again, it was all in all, surprisingly uneventful.

To Granny's credit, closing the diner for a private party at the last minute was a bold move. But it was appreciated because none of them were sure if they wanted to deal with whatever the town had in store for them. Strangers attracted too much attention, and they weren't entirely ready for the rumors and whispers. Em and Henry were already gone by the time they got there, and Bella wouldn't admit it, but she was a little disappointed. She wanted to see Henry again, but she shook off the feeling and slid into the booth. Rosalie followed after, and Kieran took the other side. Emmett, instead of taking the final spot, pulled up two chairs, which left Kara free to sit next to Kieran.

"Welcome, ladies, gents, and Bella," Ruby greeted, sliding up to the table.

"I'm choosing not to be insulted because I get my own category," Bella said.

Ruby snorted and pulled out her notebook, turning to Kara first and saying, "Since you're least likely to give me the most issues, what can I get you?"

"Um, I don't know what you serve?"

"Oh, right. Duh." Ruby looked around, presumably for menus, but she gave up and shrugged. "We have pretty much anything diner-related. So think like pancakes, French toast, waffles, eggs, and bacon. We also have burgers, fries, shakes, and other greasy, heart-stopping food."

"And salads," Kieran added.

"No one eats those but you and your mother," Ruby said.

"It's not our fault we have good taste."

"None taken, considering I've also seen what you're attracted to."

"I would love to hit you for that comment, but you might find a way to break me in half," Rosalie said dryly.

"Glad you're finally catching up." Kieran smiled and Rosalie then turned to Kara, putting a hand on her arm, "Seriously, honey, order what you want and however much you want. Ruby eats like five-thousand calories a day. Nothing you order will surprise her," she said.

"Granny and I have been cooking for the masses for years. We'll take good care of you," Ruby said.

Kara nodded and cleared her throat, playing with her shirt sleeve. "Okay then, I'll take a double order of pancakes and waffles, scrambled eggs with lots of cheese, extra-crispy bacon, an order of fries, and a vanilla milkshake."

"That's probably word-for-word what I get when I eat here," Ruby said, laughing. "Man, you and I are going to have lots of fun nights together. I see tons of pizza and Chinese nights in our future. I haven't met someone who can eat as much as me in a long time."

"Oo! I can make you my sesame chicken pizza!" Kara exclaimed.

"I didn't even know that was a thing."

"No sane person would," Bella said flatly.

"Are you saying you aren't going to try it?" Kieran asked.

"What? No, of course I am! Hello, I said, "No sane person."

"Are you calling yourself insane?"

"Have you met me?"

"Unfortunately."

Bella flipped her off, and she said to Ruby, "If you're done flirting with Kieran's girlfriend, I'd like a double cheeseburger with extra onions-

"Please, no," Rosalie interrupted.

"What, why?"

"Onions taste funny when we kiss."

"Fine. I want a double cheeseburger with no onions or tomatoes, a large order of fries, and a milkshake," Bella said.

"What kind of milkshake?"

"Cookies and cream."

"Got it. Kieran, what about you? What do you want?" Ruby asked.

"I want the -

"Chicken kale salad but no croutons and extra cheese," Emmett, Kieran, and Bella said in unison.

"With a side of fruit," Bella added.

"And a glass of water with lemon," Emmett drawled.

Kara covered her mouth to hide her smile as Kieran scowled.

"I don't order that -

"Yes, you do," Emmett interrupted. "You and Mom get the same thing all of the time."

Kieran scoffed and folded her arms.

"It's not my fault that I like kale."

Kara grimaced, and Kieran frowned.

"What's wrong with kale?" she asked.

"Name one thing that isn't wrong with it," Kara said.

"It's high in iron."

"So is drinking blood," Bella said, jerking her head at Rosalie and Emmett.

"It's high in calcium."

"Then drink milk. Seriously, I'd rather be related to a rabbit."

Kieran kicked Bella under the table.

"Son of a bitch," Bella hissed. "I swear I'm going to knock you sideways."

"Promises, promises," Kieran mocked.

"Children," Ruby said. "Behave."

Kara smiled when Bella hissed at Kieran, and she sank back against the booth, throwing her arm around Kieran without thinking about it. Kieran turned with a confused expression, and Kara was about to apologize when Kieran's face smoothed out, and she leaned into the embrace. Bella cocked an eyebrow but said nothing. But that was mostly to do with Rosalie doing the same thing on the opposite side of the booth, causing Bella to kiss her cheek. Ruby cleared her throat and turned to Tinkerbell.

"Are you eating?" she asked.

"I'm almost afraid to give my order," she said.

"Don't let my sister intimidate you," Emmett said. "Order what you want. No judgment."

Tinkerbell sighed and said, "In that case, Kieran's order sounds amazing. But can I get fries on the side instead of fruit?"

"You can get whatever you want, Tink," Ruby said.

"Then that's what I'll have. Can you burn the fries a little?"

"Of course. I'll go put the orders in, and then I'll be back."

"Thanks, Rubes," Bella said.

"You're welcome." Ruby's head tilted toward the kitchen, and then she added, "Also, Granny says not to start another fight with your sister."

"We aren't fighting. We're just having our special sister time." Kara, Emmett, and Rosalie cringed, and Bella added, "Yeah, I heard it after I said it. Ignore that."

Ruby snorted and walked off to the kitchen.

"I don't know how you made that sound dirty," Kieran said.

"Fuck off, Elsa. And keep your kinks to yourself."

"One, no Elsa jokes in a town where Elsa exists. Two, I can assure you that is not one of my kinks."

Kieran winced as soon as she said it, and Bella smiled widely at the inadvertent admission. She leaned forward and propped her chin, her eyes promising nothing good would come out of her mouth.

"I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours," she teased.

"Bella, is this appropriate for the table?" Emmett asked.

"This is not the worst conversation we've had."

"She has a point," Rosalie added.

"There, are you happy? Your best friend agreed with me."

"She always agrees with you," Emmett snorted. "You're her mate."

"I assure you, my lovely girlfriend takes pleasure in disagreeing with me," Bella said.

"That's one of my kinks," Rosalie joked.

Emmett sighed heavily and turned to Tinkerbell.

"I am so sorry for what's about to happen," he said.

"Why? I wish I could talk to my siblings about stuff like this, but they're all uptight and virginal."

"You have siblings?" Bella asked.

"Sort of."

Everyone waited for an explanation, but it never came. Bella cleared her throat and looked back at Kieran, expectant.

"Tit for tat?" she asked.

"Fine. I like praise," Kieran huffed.

"How completely unsurprising. Mine is edging."

"Being edged or doing the edging?" Kara asked.

All eyes went to her, and she frowned.

"What?"

"I didn't expect you to know what I was talking about," Bella said.

"Why wouldn't I?"

"Because you're you."

"That doesn't answer my question."

"You had to look up Daddy a few months ago," Kieran argued.

"I never heard it in that context," Kara countered. "But I am not incompetent in things related to sex."

Kieran didn't have a response to that, and Bella tapped her knuckles on the counter.

"So how do you know what it is?" she asked.

"I had a friend who liked studying kinks and sexual activities. She thought they connected to a person's sense of self or something like that. I learned as much as she did in the process. There were topics we didn't address for many reasons, one being the whole Daddy thing. But I know more than enough to get by in conversation."

"Alright then. What do you think the answer to your question is?" Bella asked.

"What do you mean?"

"Treat it like your friend's research. What do you think I prefer?"

Kara cocked her head and said, "Well, I think you like being edged more than you enjoy doing the edging." Bella gestured for her to continue, and Kara shrugged one shoulder. "I'm going to go out on a limb and say you have to be in control because, if you aren't, you're afraid you'll lose. It might not be a literal loss, but whatever it is, it's something that you need and are afraid of not having in your control. Edging is your way of putting that control and trust into someone else's hands, knowing they'll catch you when you fall. But you've never done it before. You're afraid of what it actually means to give up that trust to someone."

Bella stared at Kara for a long moment before saying, "I have never been so impressed and annoyed by someone in my life. As a form of apology, you have to tell us one of yours."

Kara pursed her lips and said, "I think mine is pretty obvious."

"Let me guess, bondage?"

"Food play," Kara corrected.

"Like licking honey and chocolate off someone type of thing?"

"Yes."

Bella's eyes sparkled, and she said, "Yeah, I can see why my sister likes you."

Kieran kicked Bella again, her face red, and Bella surrendered. She leaned into Rosalie's side, and the conversation switched to trivial things before Ruby brought out their food. The wolf winked at Kara as she put all her food on the table, and Kara saw why when she saw the chocolate syrup.

"Thank you."

"Of course. Wouldn't want to deny you of any pleasures," Ruby said. Then she added, "Hey, I have the rest of your food staying warm. Just wanted to save a bit of space for everyone else. Is that fine?"

"Yes, that's more than fine. Thank you."

Kara picked up the syrup and doused her pancakes in it. Ruby plopped down on the side where Kara and Kieran sat with a burger, squeezing past Tinkerbell to fit. She rested her head on the back of the booth while the others ate in a comfortable silence until Tinkerbell cleared her throat and stabbed several pieces of lettuce.

"By the way, my favorite is exhibitionism," she said, shoving her food into her mouth.

Kieran and Bella choked around the same time, and Emmett's head snapped to the side. Ruby stared at Tinkerbell in disbelief and amusement.

"I like the idea of being watched. Are you saying you can't see the appeal?"

Emmett opened his mouth, then closed it.

"I can't say that I can't," he said slowly.

"Emmett!" Bella exclaimed.

"What? I can," he said defensively. "It's kind of hot."

"I think I might puke," Kieran muttered.

Emmett rolled his eyes and decided not to comment any further. Rosalie tilted her head and hummed.

"Let me get this straight. One sibling likes praise, the other doesn't mind someone else watching, and the other likes going past her limits," she said. "Makes so much sense in hindsight."

"Don't forget the cousin that likes-

"I will bite you," Ruby hissed.

"Hey, you stole my line," Bella said, laughing.

"I hate you."

Bella blew Ruby a kiss, and Kara slid her hand to the fruit next to Kieran. She snagged a strawberry, and Kieran sighed before pushing it closer. Kara did a little fist bump and took the rest of the strawberries, placing them on her plate. She paused and looked at Kieran, then the strawberry. She picked up one and dragged it through the chocolate syrup before holding it to Kieran. Kieran blinked and opened her mouth slowly. Kara watched her teeth pierce the fruit, and her eyes followed Kieran's tongue as she licked the chocolate from around her lips. Kara leaned over –

"Good girl," she whispered.

Kieran promptly started choking, and Emmett pinched the bridge of his nose. Ruby cackled and smacked Kieran on the back, and Rosalie shook her head when Bella glanced at her questioningly.

"Nothing worth repeating. Trust me," Rosalie said.

Bella grunted and went back to her food. Kara winked at Kieran and started cutting her pancakes into smaller pieces.

After lunch, it was almost dusk by the time the group finished. Regina texted a few times, saying she was enjoying a nice relaxing Dreamworks marathon with Little Ruby and Jess, and she told them to be back by dark. Bella hung outside with Kieran, Tinkerbell, and Emmett while the others helped clean.

"Why are you going to the station again?" Bella asked.

"I need to talk to Em about the guy who runs the newspaper around here," Kieran said. "Kara was a journalist. I'm hoping she can get a job there or something."

"Your sentimentality disgusts me."

"I love you too."

Kara came out of the diner with her second milkshake, and Rosalie laughed at something she said while Ruby carried a to-go meal for Regina.

"Your girlfriend can make a friend out of thin air," Bella said.

"It's part of why I like her so much. She balances me out."

"Yeah, you'd rather live in a hole than interact with society. Also, you called her your girlfriend."

"Shut up."

Bella snickered and stepped to the side as Kara came up to them. Emmett and Tinkerbell gravitated toward one another, and Rosalie slipped her arms around Bella's waist. Ruby bounced on her toes and pointed over her shoulder.

"I'm going to see if I can find Belle. I'll catch you guys tomorrow?"

"Of course," Kieran said.

"Be safe," Bella added.

Ruby said her goodbyes and walked off toward the library. Kara glanced down at Kieran.

"Ready?" Kara asked.

"How are you going to carry- never mind. I forgot who I was talking to," Kieran said.

"I would never let you fall."

"What about the milkshake?"

"I can hold both," Kara said. "Rao, you act like I'm not a professional at this."

Kieran grinned and stepped onto Kara's toes.

"Then carry us both," she teased.

"How come you get to fly with her, and I can't?" Bella exclaimed.

No one said a word to that, and Bella pouted. Rosalie kissed her on the neck.

"How about we go home and take a bath together? Wash off the other universe?"

Bella's eyebrows went up, and she said, "I suddenly have no desire to fly."

"Shocker," Kieran drawled, draping her arms around Kara's neck.

Kara hovered off the ground and expertly adjusted Kieran until she could drink from her milkshake.

"Unbelievable," Kieran said.

"You want to taste?"

Kieran gave Kara a flat look and said, "After that stunt in the diner, you're walking on thin ice."

"I can hold my breath for a long time."

"Kara!"

"Hey, now that you two are a thing, are we going to have to hear you flirt all of the time?" Emmett asked.

"You flirted with Tink the entire time we were eating."

"I did not!"

"You did," Tinkerbell said. "It was honestly refreshing to see a man chase what he wants."

"Ha! She thought it was refreshing," Emmett said to Kieran.

"Urine can be refreshing when you've gone without water for so long."

Kara made a face and said, "I know you have to make analogies, but come on. That was gross."

"You got the point, didn't you?"

"We're wasting daylight, people. Let's move out," Bella said. "Also, Kara, if you drop my sister, I'm shoving raw Kryptonite up your ass. Understood?"

"Noted."

"Oh, and if Mom asks where I am, can you tell her I'm with Em?" Kieran asked.

Bella waved to show she heard her and walked off with Emmett, Tinkerbell, and Rosalie. Kara flew as Kieran directed her to the police station. As they passed over the Town Hall, Kieran pointed out that Sam was still working.

"I should see her at some point," Kara said.

"Sam, Ruby, and Jess live with us."

"I know. But either that house is bigger than it looks, or Regina has me under a hallucination."

"There are three magic users who live there, Kara," Kieran said.

"I know. Still, it's going to take some getting used to being around you guys and all this magic."

"You fit in nicely with the kinks conversation."

"Weird subject change, but I'll allow it. I told you I'm not the innocent Girl of Steel that Cat plastered on the magazines once upon a time."

"I prefer who you are now. Oh, this is the station."

"Yes, I got that from the police cruisers parked outside," Kara said wryly..

"Shut up and put me down."

Kara chuckled and lowered them to the ground. They opened the door, but Kara paused at the entrance. Kieran gave her a strange look, and she shook her head, putting a finger to her lips. The duo entered the station silently, and Kara hovered over the ground as she moved forward. They found Killian, Charlie, and Em on one side, and a spiky-haired brunette and an average man with brown hair on the other. Kieran's eyes widened, and she pulled Kara behind the wall.

"Shit."

"Who is that?" Kara whispered.

"The guy in front is Killian, or Captain Hook. We can talk about that later, and the guy next to Em is Charlie, Bella's semi-adopted father."

"And the other two?"

"I think that's Snow and Charming? It's been a long time since I've seen either of them, and I hardly remember Charming," Kieran sighed. "I want to hear what they're saying."

Kara chewed on her bottom lip and spotted a space closer.

"Hold onto me."

Kara picked Kieran up again and floated off the floor, moving in silence across the room. They landed behind the cabinets to listen to the conversation.

"Emma, this is serious. There are too many new people coming over the border," Snow said.

"Please stop calling me that."

"That's what I named you, so that's what I intend to call you. You're too old for this name-change phase."

"It's not a- never mind, I'm not wasting my breath on that. Also, I've already explained that the town isn't in danger. So if you could please -

"You can't tell me that my daughter randomly hired someone who arrived in town."

"The hiring was completely legal, and he has all of the qualifications. Hell, he has more than I do!"

"Regina hates newcomers, yet she allows a group of them to make Storybrooke their home?! Come on, Emma, you can't be this blind. She's up to something. I feel it."

"Okay, let me break this down for you. Charlie is an amazing cop, and he and Killian are why this town is still functioning. Second, because I know you're going to bring it up regardless, Regina hired Sam and Jess because she needed an extra set of hands, and she wanted to give her secretary more time away from the job to spend with her family. Lastly, there is no threat, and Regina isn't up to anything. We're all in a better place, and your paranoia isn't helping.," Em said.

"Emma -

"Stop. Calling. Me. That."

"Look, I know you think you and Regina are friends," Snow continued, ignoring Em, "but she's not capable of having friends or a family. Your father and I care about you. We want you to think more about the company you keep."

"Yeah, it's a little too late for that, Mommy Dearest. You threw me in a tree, remember? That was essentially you giving up your parental rights."

"Don't talk to your mother like that," Charming said. "We made the hardest decision of our lives -

"Blah, blah, I'm not listening to a man that isn't even a real prince," Em said. To Snow, they added, "You might think he's your true love, but you scraped the bottom of the barrel with this one, Snow."

Kara tensed when Charming stepped forward, but Kieran held her back with a hand on her chest. Em stared at Charming with apathy, and Snow stepped between the two of them.

"Listen, if not for yourself, think about Henry," she said.

"Don't do that. Henry and Regina are making strides to fix their relationship."

"You're his mother. Not Regina!"

"I'm an incubator, completely different," Em corrected.

"Emma, this is serious. You need to come home with your family. Let Regina go and come back to our side. We gave up everything for you. The least you could do is show us a bit of gratitude."

"You gave up nothing, David! You lost nothing!" Em exclaimed.

"I lost my family!"

"That was your choice, not Regina's."

"We knew you would be safe," Snow argued. "The prophecy-

"-is bullshit!' Em snapped. "I'm not your precious Savior. I'm a fucking foster kid who grew up thinking their parents wanted nothing to do with them. I grew up questioning myself at every turn of the way, and now when I look in the mirror, I don't know who I am!"

"You're Emma, our Princess-

"I am not a Princess," Em seethed.

"Emma, please-

"STOP CALLING ME THAT!"

The cup on Charlie's desk shattered, and Kara covered her ears with a grimace. Em closed their eyes and took several deep breaths. When they opened their eyes again, Em finally noticed Kara and Kieran in the corner, and something passed over their face before they turned back to Snow.

"You want me to trust you? Then tell me about Regina's children."

Kieran, Snow and Charming tensed for vastly different reasons, and Snow folded her arms.

"Regina doesn't have any children," she said. "And if she says she did, she's lying."

"So who were Isabella, Kieran, and Emmett Mills?"

"Peasants that Regina kidnapped," Snow lied. "She killed their parents out of some twisted desire to be someone's mother."

"Wasn't she yours?" Em said mockingly.

"Regina was nothing more than a bedmate for my father," Snow scoffed. "And a poor one at that. My father deserved better than a limp fish. His words, not mine."

Kieran growled under her breath, and her eyes flashed red. Kara didn't get a chance to stop her before Kieran stepped out from behind the cabinets. She clenched her fists, and Snow paled when she spun around and saw her. Charming drew his sword immediately, only to find a gun poking into his temple. Em removed the safety as a warning, and Kara came up behind Kieran.

"Emma, what are you doing!" Snow exclaimed.

"You make one move toward her, and I pull the trigger," Em said, ignoring Snow. "I swear it on my life."

Charming glanced between Em, Kara, and Kieran, and Killian folded his arms.

"I suggest you put that away, mate," Killian said. "Or take your chances with a bullet from a very angry Sheriff who can write your death off as a tax relief."

"Or me," Kieran warned, forming an icicle with her fist. "The very pissed off daughter that doesn't exist."

"I'm the backup," Kara quipped, sipping her milkshake. "But you do not want to find out what I can do. Trust me."

"Put it away, Charming," Em said. "Or you die by the hands of whoever gets to you first."

Charming ground his teeth and put down the sword. Em didn't relax, but they did lower their gun. Snow looked back at Kieran with a frown mixed with annoyance and fear.

"You're supposed to be dead."

"Rumors of my death have been highly exaggerated." Emma, Charlie, and Kara snorted in unison, and Killian looked confused. As did Snow and Charming, and Kieran rolled her eyes. "Look, you're lucky I'm in such a good mood. I will let you and your precious prince leave with a warning." Kieran vanished the icicle and let her eyes return to their normal color. "If you so much as breathe in my mother's direction from here on out, you will die, and I promise to make it last as long as possible."

"I got rid of you once, and I'll do it again."

"You can try," Kieran drawled. "But I'm not a little kid anymore, Snow. I have more blood on my hands than you do, and you sure as hell have a lot."

Snow clenched her jaw and stormed from the station with Charming on her heels. They went the long way to avoid Kieran and Kara. Once they were gone, Kieran sighed and held out her hand.

"Pay up, pirate," she said.

"You couldn't wait a damn day?" he scoffed, rummaging in his pockets.

"Wait, you two made a bet?" Charlie asked.

Kieran did a double-take when she saw him, finally noticing the black eye, and she asked, "Who hit you?"

"Charming," he said. "I wasn't paying attention, and he decked me, dragged me into an alleyway, and demanded to know what Regina was planning. I told him I was just on patrol, and he got angry. That's when Em found us and brought the party back here."

"I should have killed them," Kieran said.

"You know your sister would be so pissed," Killian responded, passing her a twenty-dollar bill.

"Again, let's focus here. You two made a bet?" Charlie asked.

"I bet that I would be the first person to run into Snow. Rosalie said it would be Emmett, and Emmett said it would be Bella. Killian made the same bet as I did, but he had it for the day after we returned from the other universe."

"Your mother's going to kill you," Em said, sitting down on the edge of the desk.

"I know," Kieran sighed. "But it couldn't be helped. Where's Henry?"

"Asleep in my office behind a multitude of silencing spells."

"Nice."

"Can I ask an obvious question?" Killian said, looking at Kara.

"Oh, right! This is Kara Zor-El Danvers," Kieran said.

"Her girlfriend," Em teased.

"We're not together," they corrected in unison.

"Officially," Kara added.

"Please tell me you aren't Supergirl?" Charlie asked.

"Yes, I am."

"What's so super about you?" Killian asked.

"Remember when I said you should think questions through before you ask them?" Em said. "This is one of those times."

"What? Why?"

Kara passed Kieran her milkshake and rose slowly from the floor. She smirked, and Em and Charlie moved back. Killian screamed as Kara swooped and grabbed him. The two vanished from the station, and Kieran clicked her tongue against her teeth. She sipped at Kara's milkshake and turned to Em.

"So. We should probably tell Mom that Snow knows I'm here."

"What are the odds Snow isn't going to let this go?" Kieran and Em glanced at Charlie, and he nodded. "Yeah, that's what I thought," he said.
