Bound by Passion
Natsu was lounging on Lucy's couch, taking in the familiar sights of her cozy apartment. It had been a while since he had visited her, and he was happy to be catching up with his dear friend.
"So, what have you been up to, Lucy?" He asked, propping himself up on one elbow. It had been a while since their last quest together since Lucy wanted to work on her novel and career as a journalist.
Lucy sat across from him, fiddling with the hem of her shirt. "Oh, you know, the usual. Writing and taking on jobs when I can," she replied, not meeting his gaze.
He raised an eyebrow, sensing that something was bothering her. "You sound kind of down. Is everything okay?"
Lucy sighed, finally looking up at him with a pained expression. "I don't know, Natsu. I just feel like I'm not strong enough to keep up with you and the others. Every time we go on a mission, I feel like I'm just dead weight."
He sat up and frowned. "Lucy, that's not true. You're plenty strong! You have Celestial Spirits at your disposal, and you're a skilled writer. You're an important member of our team and if anyone said otherwise they have a problem with me."
It was no secret that Lucy was his friend, she was a friend to a lot of people in the guild. However, there were those that thought she was weak because she couldn't fight like Erza and he often had to show them what happens when you mess with his friends.
Lucy smiled weakly, but tears began to pool in her eyes. "I know, I just...sometimes I wonder if I'm cut out for this kind of life. I don't have any special powers like you and the others. I'm just...me."
He scooted closer to her, taking her hands in his. "Lucy, you don't need special powers to be strong. You have a heart of gold, and that's what makes you one of the strongest people I know. You never give up, even when things get tough. That's what matters."
Lucy sniffled, her tears now falling freely down her face. "Natsu...thank you. That means a lot to me."
Natsu pulled her into a tight embrace, holding her close. "I'm glad we're friends, Lucy. You make my life better just by being in it."
Lucy hugged him back fiercely, her tears soaking into his vest. "Meeting you was the best day of my life, Natsu. I don't know what I would do without you."
They stayed like that for a few moments, reveling in the comfort of each other's embrace. Eventually, they pulled away, wiping their tears and sharing a small smile.
He hugged her tightly, her head resting against his chest. I never realized she felt this way. A part of him was hit by guilt for not asking if she wanted to go on a quest, yeah he sometimes like to go solo but for the life of him he couldn't remember the last time he asked her to join him.
How could I be so stupid. I should've asked her.
"Thanks for coming over, Natsu. I really needed this," Lucy said, her voice still shaky. "It's just with everything going on with my novel and career as a journalist I've been thinking about us a lot. About our adventures and our friends.
"Of course, Lucy. Anytime you need me, I'll be there," He replied with a grin. "The guild is there for you, and I am the first one who will be there to defend you."
Lucy giggled, the sound music to his ears. "You're such a goof, Natsu."
Natsu stuck out his tongue playfully. "Hey, being a goof is what I do best! So what's new in the world of journalism?"
Lucy smiled at him and rested herself on his lap. They chatted for a little while longer, catching up on each other's lives and reminiscing about old missions. Natsu couldn't help but feel grateful for Lucy's presence in his life. She had been there for him through thick and thin, and he knew he could always count on her.
As he got ready to leave, he turned to Lucy with a grin. "Hey, how about we go on a mission together soon? Just the two of us."
Lucy's eyes lit up, and a smile spread across her face. "I'd like that, Natsu. It'll be like old times."
He nodded, feeling a warmth in his chest. "Yeah, it will. And don't forget, Lucy. You're my friend and an important person in my life. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise."
Lucy's smile grew wider, and she nodded. "I won't. You're also very important to me."
He had noticed that Lucy was still avoiding his gaze, even after their heart-to-heart conversation. He furrowed his brows, wondering if he had missed something important.
"Lucy, is everything okay? You seem nervous," Natsu asked, reaching out to touch her arm.
Lucy bit her lip, looking down at her lap. "Well, there's something I've been meaning to tell you, Natsu. And I'm not sure how you'll react."
His heart skipped a beat, his mind racing with possibilities. "What is it, Lucy? You can tell me anything."
Lucy took a deep breath, summoning all her courage. She looked up at him, meeting his eyes. "Natsu, I don't just see you as a friend. I think...I believe I love you."
Natsu's eyes widened, shock written all over his face. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. Lucy...loved him? It was like a dream come true, but he didn't want to get his hopes up.
"L-Lucy, what do you mean?" He stuttered, his heart pounding in his chest
Lucy took another deep breath, steeling herself. "I mean that I have feelings for you, Natsu. More than just friendship. I love you."
It felt like his heart was about to burst out of his chest. He had never thought of Lucy in that way before, but now that she had said it, he couldn't deny the way his heart fluttered at the thought of her.
"I...I don't know what to say, Lucy," Natsu stammered, his mind in a haze. He had always cared for her deeply but he never would've thought that she felt that way about him. Lucy was Lucy, his friend and teammate.
Lucy looked at him expectantly, her eyes filled with hope. "Say something, Natsu. Anything."
Natsu took a deep breath, looking into her eyes. "Lucy, I...I love you too. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I do. I love you."
Lucy's eyes widened, a smile spreading across her face. "You...you do?"
Natsu nodded, feeling like he was walking on air. "Yeah. I do. And I want to be with you, Lucy. If you'll have me."
Lucy threw herself at him, hugging him fiercely. "Yes, Natsu! Of course, I'll have you!"
Natsu hugged her back tightly, feeling like he had just won the lottery. He couldn't believe that Lucy loved him back, but he was so happy that she did.
As they pulled away, Natsu looked at Lucy with a grin. "So, does this mean we're officially dating?"
Lucy giggled, nodding. "Yes, Natsu. It does. If you want to of course"
Natsu felt like his heart was going to burst with joy. He had never been so happy in his life. "That's great, Lucy. But can we still go on quests together?"
Lucy smiled at him, her eyes shining. "Of course, Natsu. We can still go on quests together. I wouldn't have it any other way. We can both continue in the guild, I won't keep our friends out of it. I'll do my best to get more quests so we can help our more. After all Fairy Tail is also our family"
Natsu hugged her again, feeling like the luckiest man in the world. He had never felt so alive, so in love. With Lucy by his side, he knew that anything was possible.
A part of him was also relieved that she wanted to support the guild soon. He knew that supporting the guild could be a strain on some relationships but he was glad Lucy wouldn't make him choose between him and the guild.
As they sat together on the couch, holding hands and basking in the glow of their newfound love, Natsu couldn't help but feel grateful. Grateful for his adventures, his friends, and most of all, for Lucy.
He leaned in, kissing her softly on the lips. It was a simple gesture, but it spoke volumes. As he pulled away Lucy pulled in, the kiss became passionate as they wrapped their arms around each other.
She pulled off his vest and looked at his muscular upper body with awe, they had seen each other naked before and each time he could tell it was hard for them to hid their passion. "Like what you see?" He asked, his voice low.
Lucy nodded. "I do. I've seen many bodies in the guild but yours has always impressed me."
He laughed, a cocky grin spreading a cross his face as his ego was given a boost. "Well I also think you are the hottest girl I've met."
"Thanks. That means a lot," Lucy said as she took his arm and guided him to her couch. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him again. The two had a brief passionate kiss as their arms explored each other's bodies.
Lucy looked up at him, her eyes filled with tears of joy. "Natsu, meeting you was the best thing that ever happened to me. I never knew that I could feel this way, but I'm so glad that I do. I'm so glad that I have you."
He smiled at her, his heart swelling with love. "I'm glad that I have you too, Lucy. You make me feel alive in a way that nobody else ever has. I can't wait to see what adventures we'll have together, as a couple."
Lucy leaned her head against his chest, listening to the steady beat of his heart. It was a comforting sound, one that she could listen to forever. "Me too, Natsu. Me too."
She wrested on his body, his arms wrapped around hers, he didn't want to go fast since he kenw this was most likely her first time. They sat together in comfortable silence, enjoying each other's company. It felt like nothing had really changed, yet everything was different. They were still friends, still partners, but now they were also lovers. It was a beautiful thing, and they both knew that they were lucky to have found each other.
Eventually Lucy looked up at him. "If you want to I can do it."
He raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure?"
Lucy looked him dead in the eyes and nodded. "We've been through a lot. If you want to do right now I won't complain. We've been through a lot and as a couple we should support each other both here and in the guild."
She leaned over and kissed him. His senses went wild as he kissed her back, his arms instinctively wrapping around her as the two made love. He had to admit he was cluesless about other things, but loving Lucy was not one of them.
"Lets do this," he said softly as the two kissed each other deeply.
The next morning Happy flew in through the window. He was half expecting to see Lucy scolding Natsu for staying over but to his surprise he saw them in bed together their clothes on the ground.
His jaw dropped as he stared at Lucy resting on Natsu's bare chest his arm wrapped protectively around her naked body.
A grin spread across his face. They love each other.
It wasn't a secret really, everyone knew it would happen eventually. With that he stealthily flew out the window to give them some privacy.
The guild will be happy for them. I'm happy for them.
