Ugh...
How long was he out? It felt like days since that duel with Zane..
It made him feel sick as the electricity sizzled though his nerves, a remembrance of what happened.
Right.. He challenged Zane to a duel. He wanted to teach him a lesson about respect. And.. To have the old Zane back..
But, he lost. He lost that duel, despite how important it is for everyone! For himself and Zane as well. Even when he was needed most, he failed.
He's useless...
He can recall barely holding on, how Jayden was screaming for help, the distant memory of many voices and being rushed somewhere. And after that, it was just darkness. Sometimes, he'd hear mutters. He can't understand them, but he knew where the voices belonged to.
Jayden was the most common, sometimes sounding a bit strained.
He would usually be accompanied with Alexis, Hassleberry or Chazz. He can Hear the Dino Duelist insist on something. He couldn't tell what.
Yet... No Zane.
Was he really telling the truth? Does he not care anymore..?
Something happened. He didn't know when, but this voice was different. He never heard it before. It sounded like.. Whispering metal.
"Awaken..."
Huh?
"Open your eyes.. Please.. Seek us.."
"Seek.."
Bright white. It made him flinch as he opens his silver eyes. Syrus looked around hazily at the blurry mess. Ah, right.
He reaches for his glasses, hoping for them to be on the nightstand. Once he got his sight back, he looked at the Infirmary with a curious hum. Huh? Nobody's here..
Glad to see you awake..
Syrus turned to look at something resting on the side of his bed, long like a snake. Cyberdark Keel was laying by him, before perking up when he had awakened.
AH. T-That's--
Syrus didn't even get a chance to scream, as Jayden had opened the door. He took a minute to process, his eyes growing wide before joy enveloped his face.
"Syrus!!"
"J-Jay-!!"
Jayden immediately bolted to him, hugging him tightly as if he would disappear. "Sy, oh thank the Egyptian Gods!! You haven't woken up in so long and I-I was beginning to worry that-!!"
"Hey, it's okay..!" Syrus smiled, before taking a peek at the side of the bed.
Huh? It's.. Gone. Was it really his imagination? It felt so real, though..
"Are you feeling okay?? Nothing hurts, right?" Jayden asked in concern, as Syrus shakes his head.
"Not really, aside from being lightheaded.."
"Ah, right! You're probably starving! Wait here, I'll get the nurse and some food! Don't go anywhere!" And like that, the Slifer Red Duelist was gone.
Syrus sighed, before thinking back on that moment..
Who was that? Zane? No, it definitely wasn't him.
But then, why was Cyberdark Keel there with him? Does he need to worry about these hallucinations?
When Jayden came back, he brung the whole group over as they were ecstatic to see him awake. Hassleberry was proudly telling them that he told them so, that the blue haired boy was strong enough to get through. Aster calmly congratulated him on being enduring and how he's glad he's okay. What surprised him though, is when he was introduced to Jessie.
He was a new student that got in while Syrus was out, and he couldn't help but feel that he gives off the same energy as Jayden. To be honest, all this new information was kinda overwhelming..
But, time passed as they all headed off. Syrus had to do some tests before he could leave the infirmary. Lying down on the medical bed, he sighed.
He wonders.. Why did he think he saw something on Jessie's shoulder?
It.. It must be because he's tired.
