Chapter 1: X-Genome Code
Yugo have founded the W.O.C (World of Co-Existence) and was its leader, he was on his office doing his everyday job. Kenji Ogami was the vice-president and was also busy working at the NGO. Alice was the WOC translator and was going on Yugo's encounter when out of the blue she felt a pain on her right leg like it was burning and she got up soon after noticing that she wasn't the only one feeling that pain. "Yugo, are you all right?" Alice said after entering into his office and seeing that the same showed a pain countenance.
"My right arm. I felt a strong pain." Yugo said to Alice.
"You weren't the only one." Alice said and both checked each one the mark representing each one's beast. In Yugo's case, a wolf mark while Alice's case was a rabbit mark.
"What does that mean?" Yugo asked while his brother appeared in the office as well.
"You two also got the XGC (X-Genome Code)? Mine I got on the chest." Kenji said wanting to find out how the two were.
All of them reunited to research what would be that mark. And as a result, they found out that the zoanthropes which got the sign end up dying from different ways. Continuing the search, they discovered about an artefact called the Tabula of a Thousand Beasts where was sealed an evil creature called Unborn.
"This tabula, where are we going to find it?" Kenji asked to his brother while Alice just watched the research on the computer.
"Good question, the Tabula of a Thousand Beasts...?" Alice asked to herself.
Meanwhile, Long living a vagrant life wandered until find a small town and start living an old man master of the martial arts and his daughter Lanfa, besides being scared for getting the mark.
"So Long, you already help us enough inside our home, but I see in your eyes that you search for something, maybe a possible redemption." Said the master to Long sitting on the table while Lanfa, the master's daughter served a tea.
"I see that you áre very insightful master, I'm a zoanthrope and got the mark. I fear for my life and for my past." Long answered when suddenly Lanfa got unconsciousness falling on the table.
Hearing a chat, the young Lanfa woke up on her bed without understanding what was happening until realize a pain on one of her hands and see a mark.
"My daughter you woke up?!" The master and Long entered the bedroom to notice that she also had the mark.
Long remembered of his deceased younger sister Lin Li, that have died because of the power of the beast.
"Master, let me leave. I'll search for the solution, the cure for your daughter. I also want to end this evil." Long made his wish searching for the better to all of them.
"Go Long, we will be praying for your success." The old master answered while Long left on a journey without knowing his destination yet.
During these events, Shina was satisfied for being considered a heroin without needing to keep under the shadow from her father's fame as a mercenary. Shina was sleeping on her home until suddenly the phone rang.
"Hello." She said answering the phone.
"Hello, Shina. We are calling you to make an offer." Said a man from the other side of the line.
"What would be that offer?" Shina asked him.
"We want to invite you to make part of our Klaw and Fang alliance which aims to discover the XGC's source affecting the zoanthropes. What do you say?" The man asked seriously.
"I also have XGC, off course I accept that offfer." Shina answered getting up quickly after the call to change her clothes.
The Commissioner of the United Nations was on his motorcycle, a harley recalling the last events. He had left his post and he also had XGC, a mark that shortened the life time from the carrier. He wished to pass something to the new generation before dying. That's why he was coming back to the battlefield.
"Yugo, I think we should join forces again." Gado said on his phone to Yugo
Jenny have become a celebrity, a super model. But behind appearances, Jenny was a spy and her actual objective was the Tabula of a Thousand Beasts. She was the beauty queen above Europe's socialites.
"(The XGC, a mark that kills zoanthropes. None of them should have the sign, just me and him, the responsible for all this.)" Jenny thought in her apartment wearing some clothes to go after the Tabula's whereabout clues, she also having XGC.
In a dark Alley, it was possible to see a man dressed with some clothes which covered a good part of his skin that was blue and his look was from an insect. He was seeking people's blood to keep him alive after being an experiment from his former work colleague Busuzima. He also wandered the sewers some times and didn't have the courage to kill his former colleague when he had the chance. Jenny showed up to her disturbed old friend.
"That pain that you feel, its cause are the dominant zoanthropes power with the XGC, and while they're not defeated, you will lose all your reason. You should not hesitate with a man's pride, Stun." Jenny manipulated Stun's head, the insect zoanthrope which wish was to turn back into human again.
Meanwhile, the scientist Busuzima also made his researches at his home and discovered about the tabula. He also had the mark on his body and tried to unravel how to find the Tabula. Also, with a short hair, Shenlong survived and changed his visual. He also received the XGC on his body, but for him that would not make any difference, he just wanted to kill whoever he didn't like and drink with whoever he liked.
Back to Yugo's NGO WOC, he, Alice and Kenji left the building with just one purpose to seal or destroy the Tabula of a Thousand Beasts. Uriko was waiting the three outside and arrived smiling.
"Sis, I was waiting for you." Uriko said looking to Kenji.
"You too Kenji, let's play sometime." The two teenagers got along very well.
"My future Brother-in-law either, so you can accept my sister." Uriko said receiving a slap on her head from Alice.
Moments later, Alan Gado appeared to the three with his motorcycle and sunglasses. It not took so long for Shina to arrive by motorcycle at the WOC entrance where the others were reunited.
"Very well, where shall be the reunion?" Alan Gado asked to decide the destination.
"Aren't we missing anyone?" Alice asked worried in not leaving no one behind.
"My master is arriving." Uriko answered with Long arriving on foot.
"I thought that if there were someone who could help me that would be you." Long clarified moving his glasses.
"Everyone here has XGC? Yugo asked using the acronym of the mark.
"Uriko?" Alice asked worried with her sister.
"I also have the mark." Uriko answered smiling carefree to not worry her sister.
"Now that we're all together with Jenny exception?" When Yugo said Gado shook his head.
"I don't know her location." Gado answered and then the XGC from all of them began to shine.
"That will be our compass. The shining and the pain mean we're closer to the Tabula of a Thousand Beasts." Gado seemed to decipher the way and something woke up everybody senses that was an energy line that would finish only on the Tabula. Only the affected by the mark would see the way.
"I have not imagine having to start this search this way." Kenji said without knowing the final destination.
Yugo, Alice, Kenji, Uriko, Gado, Shina and Long would soon encounter what they were looking for, but would that be the cure?
