This is a fanfic based on the parents of the characters in the Boy/Girl Battle Series. This part is about Ellen Hatford or in her maiden years Ellen Fay. (Told from each of their perspective)

"Ellen Fay!" The principal yelled! "My office, now!"

I stared at the boy laying at my feet, crumpled up with blood running from his nose. I glanced at Shirley, then followed the principal.

"He was making fun of Shirley." I blurted out as soon as I entered.

"That's not an excuse Miss Fay!"

"Why not? Isn't it noble to protect your friends?" I asked.

"Miss Fay, violence is never the answer."

"Then what is?"

"Miss Fay, your behavior is unacceptable."

"How many days?" I ask, used to the situation.

"Three days of detention. And you have to write an apology letter to him."

"For something that was his fault! No way!" I scream.

"Five days!"

"Do I still need to write that apology letter?"

"Yes Miss Fay. Now you're dismissed."

I angrily stomp out of the office and go down to my locker. Tom, Hal, and Shirley were waiting.

"How long?" Shirley asked.

"Five stupid days." I say. "And I have to write an apology letter."

"It's literally his fault." Hal growled. "Why do you have to write the apology letter?"

"That's what I said. That's why I got five days!" I say.

"Wait, how many days did you get originally?" Tom asks.

"Three." I say opening my locker and slamming the door shut after getting my bag. Shirley and Tom jumped.

"Come on, let's just go to lunch." Tom says.

Our friend group is called the Opposite 4. Mainly because there are two pairs of best friends that are the exact opposites of each other. I'm best friends with Shirley Grace, and Tom Hatford is best friends with Hal Benson.

We get to lunch and I set my backpack down by my seat. Tom and Hal do the same thing but Shirley put down the stack she typically carried around. We got in line for lunch and stood there talking to one another.

"Oh, sweet potato fries!" Shirley exclaimed excitedly.

"Ooh!" I say.

"Yuck." Says Hal and Tom. I glare at them. Hal glared right back.

When we sat down at our table, some other kids who were friends with Shirley looked at us funny.

"We're a package deal. You're friends with her, you're friends with us." I said. Tom and Hal nodded their heads in agreement.

"Ok," said one of the kids. I quickly grabbed one of Shirley's sweet potato fries.

"Hey!" Shirley whined. "My sweet potato fries!"

"Sharing is caring!" I say back, shoving the fries in my mouth.

"My fries!" Shirley whined again, before she ran out of ketchup. Shirley began to scoop the fries into her hand unsuccessfully and I got a few more.

"I don't trust you." Shirley said, sticking her tongue out at me before she went to get more ketchup. Hal chuckled.

Shirley got back quickly and put the fries back.

"Hey Shir, could I have one?" One of Shirley's friends asked.

"See, consent Ellen, that's how you do it." Shirley said, handing one to them. I snatched it out of her hand. Shirley automatically took another one and handed it to them.

I rolled my eyes.

"I can't with you two." Hal said.

"Shut up." I say.

"No fighting!" Shirley said. Her face automatically turned into a pout. Hal and I shut up to her wishes. We both had a soft spot for Shirley.

"What you up to, Shir?" Hal asked. Shir is Shirley's nickname and I'm occasionally called Ellie, mostly by Shirley.

"Nothing, what are you talking about Hal?" Shirley responded. Tom looked up from his food.

"No plots to steal something?" Hal asked.

"Ok, that's enough." I said. I knew he was trying to flirt and horribly at that.

"No why?" Shirley asked.

"Never mind." Hal said. He's done this for four years now. Attempt to flirt then give up.

"You're an idiot, Hal." I said.

"Ellie, what is he talking about?" Shirley asked.

"Nothing, Shir, don't mind him." I said, covering for Hal. I don't know why.

Tom chuckled and kept eating. He always is calm and collected.

"Why won't anyone tell me anything?" Shirley pouted.

"Cause you don't need to know." I said. The bell rang and we made our way to our next class. At the end of the day, I made my way to the library and sat down.

I pulled out a piece of paper and began to write.

Dear Boy I punched this morning,

I'm sorry you don't know the meaning of no. The reason I punched you is because you violated my friend's privacy. You deserved it. People like you shouldn't be so privileged at home. Just because you're the 'stronger' gender, doesn't mean you won't get your butt kicked by a girl.

Sincerely,

Ellen Fay

I knew I would get into trouble again, but I didn't care. I always set things straight. Anyone who wrongs Shirley gets it.
