This is a fanfic based on the parents of the characters in the Boy/Girl Battle series. Meet Tom Hatford.
I walked down the hall to my fourth period class. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Shirley and Ellen. I waved and they waved back. I went into my class and sat down next to Hal. Finally class ended and I went to my locker. I saw Shirley there.
"Ellie is in the office." She said.
"Again?" I asked. Shirley nodded.
"Oh my, let me guess, for fighting?" I say.
"Yeah," Shirley says.
"That's really annoying." I say. By this time I saw Hal coming up to us.
"Hey guys! What's up?" He asked.
"Ellen's in the office." Shirley said. Hal's eyes darkened. I close my locker and instinctively back up.
"It's either her or me." Hal said. We decided to wait for Ellen at her locker. Suddenly Ellen stormed out of the office and came to her locker. Again for the second time today I backed up. The others were talking about how long Ellen had detention.
"Five stupid days. And I have to write an apology letter." Ellen said.
"It's literally his fault. Why do you need to write an apology letter?" Hal asked, very angry. Even though him and Ellen have their fights and disagreements, they're always there for the other at injustices.
"That's what I said! That's why I got five days!" Ellen burst out.
"Wait, how many days did you have originally?" I asked. I rarely talk unless I have to, or in curious.
"Three." Ellen said. I shared a look with Hal. Last time he got detention, he only had one day. Our stupid sexist principal.
We started our way to lunch and put our stuff down. We got in line, found out what the lunch was, and went back to the table. I concentrated on eating my food when everyone was talking and/or stealing Shirley's sweet potato fries. (*cough*Ellen*cough*)
When school let out, I made my way home walking with Hal. I looked at the trees and watched the river. I was also listening to Hal talk about what he'll do for football next season. I said bye to Hal when I walked into my house.
"Tom! There you are!" My little sister Beatrice said.
"I have homework Bea, what do you want?" I ask, exasperated. My little sister is very draining.
"I was hoping you'd play hide and seek with me!" Beatrice said happily.
"I can't, I have homework." I said again. She can never listen.
"Meanie!" Beatrice hollered before running off.
"Ah, there you are twerp." My older brother Jack said behind me.
"Ah, lay off Jack," I said before going upstairs to my room. I actually got through all of it and then went up to the widow's walk for fun.
I saw Ellen walking back home.
"Hey Ellen!" I yell, waving.
She turned around looking confused, then looked up. I saw her grin and wave back.
"Hi Tom!" She yelled back. I grinned myself as I watched her go home.
"Oi, Tom, your turn to do dishes!" I hear Jack yell from inside.
"It's always my turn to do dishes." I mumble.
I crawl back inside and go downstairs. I go to the kitchen and start the dishes. Our parents would be home soon and all the chores needed to be done.
If everything went like it was supposed to, I would be doing dishes, Beatrice would be dusting and Jack would be vacuuming. However, both my siblings were messing around in the living room, leaving me to do the most of the chores. Annoying.
Somehow I completed them all just in time before our parents got home.
"Kids we're back!" Mom's voice rang.
"Mommy!" Beatrice cried happily. "Tommy wouldn't play with me!"
Mom gave me a understanding look and turned to Bea.
"Why wouldn't he?" Mom asked.
"He had homework. Meanie!" Bea yelled, sticking her tongue out at me. I rolled my eyes.
"And the house looks amazing." Dad said. Jack puffed up his chest more, acting like he did work.
"Of course Mom and Dad. Spic and span." Jack said, shooting me a look to stay quiet. I got it. Jack would absolutely pound me if I squealed.
"We all did our part." I said. Jack nodded and smiled.
We are our dinner of fried chicken and I did the dishes again. By this time, I was really close to passing out, but I still needed to take a shower.
After I took my shower I got dressed for bed and began to draw in my notebook. I did doodles every now and then. I wasn't that committed to the drawings. I didn't realize that I passed out on my desk until the next morning. Awakened by Jack laughing his head off at me. I went into the bathroom to find he had drawn on my face. Yay.
