I do not own the Boy/Girl Battle Series. I do own the Lasheès.
Eddie POV: (year after the girls moved to Buckham)
"Ok Eddie, kiss marry kill, Jake, Zac, and ... Charlie." Beth, my younger sister said.
"So, my enemy, my boy best friend, and my catcher?" I ask.
"Yup!" Beth said. We all were sitting in a circle in my room, we being the Lasheès, our best friends, Felicia, Camilla, Lana and Lily, and my sisters and I; Me, Eddie, Beth, and Caroline.
"So, I would kiss Zac, never marry him. I think of him as a brother, we all know this," I paraphrased. "Uh kill Charlie, we may be close but not that close, and that leaves with me ... marrying ... Jake." I gulped. My sisters could really be shipping menaces if the really wanted to.
"Really?" Beth sung. (Told you, absolute menaces)
"Interesting~," Caroline said.
"Ok my turn. Camilla. Ryan Mulover, Bella Anderson, or Peyton Wagner." I said, listing off some of Camilla's exes.
"Oh, low blow!" Camilla screamed. "Um, kill Ryan, kiss Peyton, and marry Bella."
"Eddie, you gave her one too easy." Beth said. I shrugged. At least my turn was over.
We kept playing for at least another hour before the Lasheès parents came over to get their daughters. I went straight to bed and didn't think of anything else.
2 years later:
"Eddie come over here!" Caroline called from Beth's room.
I walked through the connecting guest room, pretty much forgetting that the Hatfords were in there.
"Hey!" Jake yelled. I turned toward them then regretted it. Jake was shirtless, obviously in the middle of changing. I ran to the other room and almost ran into Caroline. I shut the door and walked up to my sisters.
"What was that all about?" Beth said.
"Nothing," I said, my face still flushed. Gosh, I hate it when that happens. Beth may be the lightest of us, but when I blush, it's very obvious.
"What the heck is her problem?" We hear through the walls.
"Ok, we're playing kiss marry kill with the Lasheès. Wanna join?" Beth said, gesturing to her wall phone.
"You guys wanna go over the rules again?" Felicia asked. It looked like they were sitting on a bed.
"Sure." I said. My face finally calmed down.
"Ok, so no current significant others." Felicia said.
"Exes valid." Lana said.
"NO COUSINS!" Camilla shouted at Beth. Beth simply batted her eyes innocently.
"No adults." I said.
"No people we don't know." Lily said.
"People we hate; Absolutely YES!" Caroline said, a glimmer in her eye.
"That's all right?" Beth asked. "Ok let's go."
"I'll go first cause I'm the oldest." Felicia said. "Eddie."
"Oh my gosh." I said.
"Zac, Jeff and ..." Felicia looked around her room and turned back to the phone. I saw her eyes twinkle for just a second before, "Jake."
"Kill Jeff, kiss Zac and .." my voice caught on and it lowered to a whisper, "Marry Jake."
"I'm sorry Eddie what was that?" Camilla asked.
"Marry Jake." I said with finality. "Happy?"
"So, kill Jeff, kiss Zac and ..." Beth said gesturing for me to continue.
"Marry Jake! Do you want the whole world to know!" I shouted.
"No, just them." Lily said, pointing behind us. I turned around quickly. The Hatfords stood behind us at the door. Josh's eyes were wide, Peter had a hand over his mouth, Wally looked shocked and Jake, oh Jake!
I ran out of Beth's room and ran into mine, locking my doors and windows. I shut the shades and sat shaking on my bed. They knew. All of them. They all knew. They can see right through me. I've put this off way too long. I like him. I've always have. But he hates me. He hates me. I can't like him. He-
"Eddie?" I hear, knocks on my door into the hallway. Jake.
"Eddie, c'mon, open up." Jake said.
"Eddie?" I hear Beth. The knob rattled. "Locked."
Frantic knocks on both my doors. I put my head down and slid off my bed onto the floor. Something wet hits my thigh. Then more follow. I'm crying.
"Eddie!" Beth yells.
"Eddie." Jake says.
"Eddie." Caroline says from the other door.
I crumple onto the floor. I don't care.
Suddenly I hear the knob rattling again. Don't bother, I wanted to say. But the door opened. Standing in it was Beth and Jake. Beth had the spare keys in her hand and I could spot remains of tears on her face. Jake looked worse. He looked like he hadn't had sleep for the past 5 days all in the matter of minutes. It seemed just ages ago when I accidentally walked in.
Jake ran to me. Beth closed the door.
"Are you okay?" Jake asked, lifting me up off the floor. I knew I wouldn't be able to speak to him. Then Jake did something unexpected.
He hugged me.
I hugged him back, burst into tears and cried into his shoulder. He rubbed my back.
"Your sisters and friends were scared when you ran out." He said. I stopped crying and listened to him.
"They were worried. We all were." Jake's voice broke, like he was close to crying too.
"I'm sorry." I managed to get out. My head was resting on his shoulder, and I was able to see him. I found his arms were around my waist and I was sitting on him.
"You good though?" He asked. I nodded. I wasn't really used to being the comforted. I found myself getting very drowsy. I feel asleep on his shoulder.
Beth POV:
I slowly crept into Eddie's room and was surprised to see both Eddie and Jake asleep. Eddie was sitting on Jake, her head resting on his shoulder, his head on hers.
"What's going on?" Josh asked behind me. I immediately shushed him.
He saw them and put a finger to his lips to our younger siblings.
We all slowly walked in. I pulled out my phone and took a quick photo. Eddie was not hearing the end of this.
They stirred in their sleep and we dashed out of there.
