"Stanley," said Dorothy, over the phone, "I have some bad news."
"What is it, babe?" asked Stan.
"Your brother Ted has passed away," replied Dorothy, "He had a heart attack in his sleep last night."
"Thank you for telling me," Stan responded, who by this point was in tears. Dorothy then hung up the phone and started the grieving process. Meanwhile, Blanche, who was grieving herself, was in the process of making the funeral arrangements with Rose and the Doctor.
"What casket would you like for Mr. Zbornak?" asked the funeral director.
"I would like the least expensive one you have, please," Blanche replied.
"The least expensive one we have is this one," replied the funeral director, "It is a white casket lined with white fabric."
"How much is it?" asked Rose.
"It is $750," replied the funeral director.
"We're sold then," replied the Doctor.
While they were all doing that, Sophia was purchasing sympathy cards for the family and Dorothy was at the florist, purchasing some sympathy flowers. The Zbornaks requested flowers as well as the sympathy cards for their grieving family. Later that night, the girls had cheesecake in the kitchen while the Doctor went to his room and went to bed.
"Dorothy, I understand what had happened to you," Rose said, empathetic in her tone, "My husband died in my bed as well."
"Rose, thank you for being so understanding," said Dorothy, who was being genuine about as opposed to sarcastic, "This is the first time a man has died in my bed."
"I wonder if Ted ate any vegetables in his life," responded Blanche, "Did he smoke?"
"I don't know," replied Dorothy, "Last night, he seemed okay and then sometime during the night he died."
"I don't think we should be speculating on this," replied Rose, "I think we should go to bed."
And they dumped their cheesecake slices in the garbage and put their dishes in the dishwasher and went to bed.
